Two new BIOSes for Acer 7730G:

BIOS Acer BIOS (To update BIOS to v2.3821, please flash BIOS v3810 first.) 3810 3.9 MB 2010/03/24
I did successful flash from v3809 to v3810, but I cannot flash to v2.3821, some error appeared while flashing.
Just upgradeed from 3GB to 4GB and had a look at the CPU cooler (my lovely SP9400, 25W, 6Mb cache, 45nm, 2.4GHz its on its way from taiwan ).
The existing memory was nanya 2G+1G ddr2-667. I've bought a new Kingston stick, 2GB ddr2-800 and made the swap. The lappy works fine.
Next week (probably friday) I'm gonna post the CPU upgrade process and some tests, before and after, maybe someone will find it interesting.
I have a Acer TravelMate 2420 that my sister gave me last year. I formatted the HD and wiped out the partition section on the HD. I found all the drivers that I needed except my wireless doesnt work. I have downloaded every different wireless driver from the acer site and nothing works. OH, my sister lost the Recovery Disc for this computer as well. When i go to my device manager, there is yellow "?" beside the following"
Other devices:
------------- Network Controller?
------------- PCI Modem?
I am planning to buy the acer travelmate 5720 that is being sold with Vista, I should have no problem switching to XP ?
It has 4 gig RAM , is it running on 32 bit or 64 bit vista ?
I have got acer TravelMate P253-E. since last restart it is unable to load windows 8. whenever I start it says"preparing disk recovery" and after "do not turn off the device this might take more then hour" and goes on like this forever. I left it one whole night but was still the same.

I replaced a dead HD with an Intel SSD on my TM 8473T.  I have the latest BIOS version of 1.23.Â
Â
I wanted to install a fresh version of windows (via USB) but when I get to the section on creating partitions, I get a "windows cannot be installed to this disk. This computers hardware may not support booting to this disk. Ensure the controllers is enabled in the BIOs menu".
Â
The BIOs shows the SDD and the initial setup of widows shows that partitions are created but the install does not continues copying files over.Â
I have an acer TravelMate P255-MG with Intel core i5 and AMD Radeon graphics HD 8750M. I recently updated my laptop os from windows 8 to 8.1. Now everytime i put it on sleep mode(and the light goes on and off showing that it's in the sleep mode), once i turn it on again, it restarts and all my unsaved work is gone. Sometimes I shut it down and the next day i turn it on and it gives a "Video FATAL error". I'm downloading the drivers needed from the website( VGA Intel and VGA AMD). Will these drivers solve the problem?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI am new commer here and this is my first post. I have recently purchased this nice laptop: Acer TravelMate P255, Intel Core i3-4010U (1.70GHz, 3MB), 15.6" FullHD (1920x1080) LED-backlit Anti-Glare, HD Cam, 4096MB 1600MHz DDR3L, 1TB HDD, DVD+/-RW, AMD Radeon R7 265 2GB, 802.11n, BT 4.0, Linux : NX.V9GEX.004
Â
I would like to change it's preinstalled Linux with a Windows 7 version. But I don't know which exact versions of Windows 7 this particular model is compatible with, because I failed to install the AMD graphics adapter driver from the support DVD disk on a Windows 7 64bit. Do I miss something ? Need I, for example, make any changes in the BIOS ?

I have found same drivers to download, but none of them was successfull for my laptop.

The new Realtek Audio Driver is awesome (Including HDMI support!) on Acer 6930G, it fixes a lot of problems. !
I have not tried the new Launch Manager yet, but I guess it works like a charm ^ _ ^
i cannot find drivers for windows 7 for ati radeon hd 4570 512mb for my acer 5738g....
View 6 Replies View RelatedI just noticed that if you go to Acer support page you will find that in some laptops there will be Acer official drivers for Windows 7. So if you have windows 7 and you need some drivers for your hardware to work ok, you might be lucky and find the right drivers there. There are some Acer's applications there as well.
Just choose your laptop and then in the Operating system drop down menu check if there is a Windows 7 option and pick the Windows 7 version you have, 32-bit or 64-bit. They are not all there that you might need but I guess in a couple of weeks more and more drivers are going to be uploaded on the site and more laptops are going to be supported.
I have installed recently Windows XP professional SP3 on My Acer Aspire 5920 notebook , after that I faced a problem on installing some drivers and most of the utilities.
Some of the drivers which I was unable to install are the audio driver and the modem even though I downloaded the drivers which supposed to be compatible with Windows XP from Acer website . I used this website [url]
None of the utilities also worked with me on Windows XP except the Acer eRecovery Management software.
When I tried to setup the Acer eAudio software I got the error message "This software can only be installed in authorized machine"
I also tried to install the audio driver but every time it ends up with the message "This device cannot start. (Code 10)
The audio driver is : Realtek High Definition Audio

I've just installed a fresh copy of Windows 7 64bit and not sure what drivers to install next.
I know I need an audio driver as I no longer have 5.1 sound, and possibly chipset and graphics drivers but I'm not sure where to get them from.
I cannot find any drivers for the HD 3650 card and I don't know which chipset the laptop has. I'm sure realtek will have the sound drivers though.
Is there anything else I will need?
I did see Acer had a drivers page but it says my laptop has the RS780 chipset, but when I googled this it said it had a HD 3200 graphics which I do not.
I would like to know where i can get windows XP drivers for Acer Aspire 5930G. I want to dual boot XP with the Vista that came preinstalled.
I have two partitions on factory setup: one for VISTA OS and the other is labelled as DATA. I thought of formatting the second partition and installing XP on it. Is this possible? Would a boot menu be created? Or is there any other sequence in which i should install this.
The Specification is as follows:
Intel Core2Duo P8400 2.26 GHz
512 MB nVidia GeForce 9600M GT
4GB DDR2
250 GB HDD
and the rest...
I have installed Windows 7 on my laptop Acer Aspire 1660. The problem is that I dont have valid drivers for W7 for my video and sound....
I tried to install the drivers avalaible in Acer webpage. But it displays error
i had installed windows7 on my acer 6920g. Everything works fine except for the audio. I tried the default windows update drivers, vista drivers that came with my laptop and also windows7 drivers of 6930g. Tuba doesn't work at all and the sound is like a tin can. And for some drivers the microphone doesn't work. (Currently im using 6930g windows 7 drivers and the microphone works. Tuba is still not working.)
On top of that the sound becomes distorted every few minutes and i have to restart media player or any audio playing application to make it normal. After few minutes of playing any audio it happens again. Sometimes when playing game the sound will become distorted and the only way to make it normal is to restart the game.
How to make my tuba work again in windows 7?
I have bought "Acer aspire TravelMate 5730".
I have installed windows xp professional. I want to change my bios setting for Sata mode to "IDE" to "AHCI" for that I have to install AHCI Drivers into win xp but I am not able to install AHCI drivers in win xp.
Whenever I am trying to install AHCI drivers, system gives me error
"System does not meet minimum requirements"
how to install AHCI drivers?
Well my PC came OEM installed with Vista 32 Bit edition and I would like to upgrade to Windows 7 Ultimate 32-bit edition (as i get a student discount).
Looking around the forums and internet in general, I have noticed that on the acer 6920g there seems to always be a problem with drivers such as the CineDash, Realtek, TV tuner, Modem, Card reader, Fingerprint, Webcam, Bluetooth etc.. I have also read that you can fix the launchmanager by running in Vista compatiability mode.
If i do an in-place upgrade (going from vista 32-bit to windows 7 ultimate) will it be fine? Also is there anything I should be cautionous of such as the drivers etc..
I would actually really like to do a clean installation but I'm worried that the keyboard "quick" buttons (such as the internet, bluetooth, mail on the side of keyboard will not work)- can someone please confirm if I did a clean installation, would theese buttons still work?
Also I have two games:GTA IV, Call of Duty 5 , will theese both work on windows 7 (or on compatability).
i had installed windows xp 64bits in my laptop, a Aspire 5920-6080, but there's no have drivers for xp 64 bits in cd recovery, neither in acer website, anyone, knows where have drivers for this platform?
View 7 Replies View RelatedAcer finally released Windows 7 compatible drivers for both x64 - x86 versions for Aspire 5738 and probably others... (AS 7540 ; AS 7736; AS 5736; AS 4810T; AS3810T; including all the variants of those models have Windows 7 drivers in the download page ; Travelmate from 8331 to 8571 offers Windows x86 and x64 drivers as well..)
To download them, go to [url] , select Aspire 5738 model or any other model mentioned previously, select OS "Windows 7 Ultimatex64" (In Travelmate driver downloads you can choose between x64 and x86 ).
Every driver there has inside the x86 driver included
NOTE: Even the ones that doesnt have an "x86" or 32bit folder they also work!
Tested on my Aspire 5738.
Everything works perfectly also de LAUNCH MANAGER!

I newly installed Windows 7 on my Acer Aspire 1644 WLMi laptop. It did not pick up on the sound card, Wlan card and VGA. I tried the Acer website but their support is only for XP.
how i could obtain the drivers or have a work around?
I have a Aspire 6930G, I want to upgrade to windows 7, from Vista. But this laptop came with Vista recovery CD's so the drivers are on those CD's can I still reformat and just put the drivers CD inside and reinstall them after I've changed to windows 7? By the way, I want to completely format the Hard Drive before I do any of this...
