Acer :: Tm4510 Resolution

Feb 12, 2009

I recently purchased an Acer tm4510 laptop (Mobile INTEL(R) 915GM/GMS, 910 Express Chipset Family) and the resolution is not very good. I can only get 2 resolutions, 600 * 800 and 1024 * 768. I would like to get a higher resolution, such as 1280 * 960. Is this possible, I saw somehwere about non plug and play monitors which would have a higher resolution. Can make the processor think it is a non plug and play (something about EDID information back to the processor). I have the correct drivers and I have tried several others without sucess. The main reason I want the better resolution is edit JPGs and to maybe watch a video sometime. Does anybody know how a can better resolution for these events.

Sony :: Can't Change HDMI Resolution Output Correct TV Resolution

May 29, 2009

My TV's native resolution is 1366 x 768. My VAIO FW-190 has Intel Chipset and both the Windows built in software and Intel provided graphic card settings software do not show the 1366x768 resolution. I can't find a way to set the Vaio's HDMI output to that resolution.

Acer :: TM4150 Resolution

Feb 12, 2009

I have just bought a second hand Acer TM4150 and I can't get a better resolution than 1024 * 768. I would like a resolution of 1280 * 960, does anyone know how I can achieve this. Can you fool it into thinking that it is the attached monitor (default monitor not the plug and play monitor), which seems to have these capabilities. Can someone tell me about plug and play monitor which sends info to the processor (EDID or something like that).

I have the correct driver, and I have tried different drivers. Is there a universal driver that could do this?

Acer :: 8930 Subwoofer (& Resolution)

May 30, 2009

I have a 5.1 output on my comp and after reading up on Wikipedia I'm still not sure whether I should be getting sound from 5 or all 6 speakers. In the test thing it says ; If the low frequency sounds are not heard from the subwoofer (Tuba) then I should check the "Swap" box to swap the center speaker for the subwoofer, which seems to indicate I should normally be getting sound from all 6 speakers, as when I make the test Icones all 6 speakers send out soundwaves. I'm pretty sure that, in the past, I was getting sound from all the speakers, and that the subwoofer was a lot stronger than before.

Acer :: Aspire 5920G Resolution Changes At Startup

Aug 3, 2009

Very often, when my 5920G boots, it changes from the native 1280x800 resolution to 1024x768. Because of that, the icons mess up and I have to change the resolution and then put the icons back at their place.

There is roughly 75% chance this will happen when my laptop boots.

Adding this with my other problems makes using this 5920G a frustrating experience!

This started happening months ago, when I reformated the laptop the problem had gone, and now it reappeared.

Acer :: Aspire 8930- Screen Resolution

Jan 7, 2010

Had my Acer Aspire 8930 for 11 months now and I've always assumed it displayed images at 1920 x 1080 because of the blu ray drive and the fact it has a sticker on the front of the laptop which says 'FULL HD 1080 PLAYBACK'.

I've just gone into my display settings and it says 1680 x 945!

That is on the highest setting possible.

The sticker on the side of the box it came in says;

Aspire 8930G - 584G32Bn which according to [url] states at the top in the summary it boasts 1920 x 1080.

How can the sticker on my laptop claim full HD at 1080? Do I have the wrong screen on my laptop or am I missing something?

Acer :: Aspire Gemstone 1920x1020 Resolution

Apr 11, 2009

From what i see from the Acer Aspire Gemstone official page. It would seem like all models in that series has 1020p display regardless of screen size from the specifications page.

However, I have two laptops in question right now.

First is my friend's 6935G which is featured in the official page and is said to have a Full HD display on its 16" screen. However, the maximum resolution available on my the laptop is only 1366x768. Furthermore, there is a sticker on the laptop indicating "Full 1020p HD display" and no, I did not get confused with it over the "Full 1020p HD Playback"

Secondly, is my own personal 6930Z which is essentially almost the same except the lack of the 9600GT, biometric fingerprint reader and blu-ray player found in the 6935G thus its low price. As seen from the website, the WHOLE series is supposed to have 1020p resolution display which mine is part of. However, my max display resolution capable is also the same as the 6935G although mine doesn't have the sticker that the 6935G has. I'm not complaining due to mine being a budget model but shouldn't the 6935G have the touted 1020p display?

Acer :: Can A 1920x1080 Resolution Be Reduced To 1366x768 In 6930/6920

Dec 1, 2008

all available screen resolutions on the full hd version (1920x1080) of their 6930/6920? I'd like to know if it can be reduced to 1366x768 before I buy the notebook so I can have a true pixel for pixel reproduction when connected to my HD ready plasma. I know I could just buy the lower resolution version of this notebook but I've read that 768 vertical pixels is not enough for this 16" display, too much scrolling it seems and one review even said that graphics on the screen look almost jagged when compared side by side to a notebook with a higher resolution.

Acer :: Memory Upgrade/Resolution Change - Aspire 3680

Oct 1, 2007

My brother just bought an Acer Aspire 3680.He purchased 1 gig of DDR2 Memory from Crucial. When we get to the desktop the screen is fine at first then the screen goes off and back on with 8 bit display. 512 DDR2 came in the machine. Crucial site said he could mix memory sizes. I tried it with the 1 gig stick by itself in case the mixed memory was the problem. Same thing..I've tried 2 sticks of 512...same thing. I've tried 2 sticks of 1 gig each..same problem. This laptop won't allow any upgrade at all. Will only run correctly with (1) 512 stick. I've never seen this problem before. I've installed many memory sticks in computers. This is a first for me. What could be causing this?? Any advice would be appreciated. BTW. the computer shows the upgrade amount of memory but the display color keeps changing to 8 Bit! I change it back to 32 and it reverts back after a few moments to 8 Bit. I went to Acer and installed an updated driver for the Intel Graphics card thinking the driver would help. I haven't installed a bios update yet. Called Acer and they said to return it for repair.

Acer Aspire V14 :: Can't Adjust Screen Resolution Second Monitor To Native

Dec 24, 2014

I just got my new Acer Aspire V14 touch (Windows 8.1) and want to connect it to my Sharp Aquos LC-32DA5U TV via HDMI. I can see the picture but cannot adjust the screen resolution to the native resolution recommended for this TV (1366x768). Funny enough this is exactly the resolution my laptop is using.

When I force use of this resolution via show all in the display properties, then I don't get a picture but just a black screen on my TV.

Is there any other driver etc that I need to install to make this work? It worked perfectly fine as PnP with my old Lenovo computer under Windows 7.

Dell :: Studio XPS 16 Resolution

Mar 30, 2009

Sorry if this sounds like a dumb question. Traditionally,(well at least for me anyway) laptop/montior screen resolutions are represented by two numbers. E.g. 1280x800, 1440x900, 1680x1050 etc. But on the XPS 16, it's available in 720p and 1080p? What exactly are their resolutions? 1280x720 and 1920x1080(assuming they come in 16:9 aspect ratio?)

If so,
Q1) On a 16inch display, wouldn't one want more 'space' than 1280x720 gives? For me personally, the resolution should at least be 1440x900 but better be at 1680x1050.
Q2) On a 16inch display, can one REALLY tell the difference between 720p and 1080p?

Sony :: FW 290 HDMI Resolution

However, when I disconnect the cable the laptop resolution goes to 1440*900 instead of 1600*900. So there are black lines on the edges of the screen. If I go to display settings or to the ati catalyst control center I cannot change the resolution back to 1600*900. 1440*900 is displayed as the max. The only way I can fix this is by restarting the computer.

Sony :: Z Resolution Options

May 30, 2010

I love the Sony Z but the 1600 resolution is holding me back from recommending to a client because he can't stand those very high resolutions. We purchased a FW series (16.4" w/ 1920 res) and that was too high. 1600x900 looks even worse on a 13 inch.

My question is, is there any resolution options with the Z to go lower?

The SR "Blue Label" series that Sony made for Best Buy is the perfect machine, except the for the fact that it doesn't have dedicated graphics or good battery life. Is there any way to get a Z with the lower resolution?

Dell :: Screen Resolution Sucks

Jul 28, 2009

I just got my new Studio XPS 1640 in the mail today and got a little excited. I started tweaking stuff galore, following the variety of vista tweaking thread for reducing boot time, speeding up your comp etc... but I think I must have screwed something up because the computer started lagging like crazy. i couldn't even navigate in "My Computer"

So me, being all excited and dumb decided that I would reinstall Vista and partition my C drive (which is a 256gb SSD btw, if that's important), instead of learning about the Factory Image Restore.

So now my screen resolution sucks, and I'm frustrated and tired of trying to fix this. I just want it back to how it was before, fresh out of the box. I have the Vista CD and The Driver CD, and I tried installing every damned driver and application and whatever, but it's never the same as it came out of the box.

I can't find the webcam or facial recognition software anywhere and I'm missing the cool dock at the top and bleh. I'll stop ranting, but if anyone. ANYONE, knows how to help me I would greatly appreciate it. I just want the good laptop that I paid 2000$ for.
