View 8 RepliesI got my first mac (mbp 13") and I love it, but I'm a firefox user. Everytime I do two finger scroll, the browser lags. Its pretty annoying.
Also when I'm typing fast, the browser can't display the text fast enough, and I'm not even a fast typer.
I've installed Flip4Mac and I still can't listen to music that's using the WMP plugin on Firefox. I can't see the play, pause, etc. controls on the website. Sometimes, the music would play, but most of the time it won't. If it does play, I still can't see the controls for it.
View 8 Replies View RelatedI am looking to use the finger swipes (gestures?) in Firefox.
Has anyone found a program/add on that?
I was using firefox but it kept crashing last night, I uninstalled it and reinstalled bt it kept doing the same thing, any suggestions? I have the mbp with 2gb ram, 250gb hdd, 2.4ghz cpu.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI have a macbook pro (tiger, late 06 version), and firefox seems to cause some kind of overload. I mean I have a 2.16GHz processor and 2GB memory, how the does it have so much trouble running a simple application like firefox?
View 10 Replies View RelatedI am still exploring my different options on the various browsers on the Mac OS.
I am a Firefox convert for the most part, and I really do not use Safari.
I saw Camino is just for the Mac. How much better is the Camino over the Firefox browser?
how to get ALL my data from firefox to safari? (Passwords, History, Bookmarks, Cache...etc) I tried foxmarks but that doesn't bring all my data.
Usally when you start a new browser it ask you if you want to import any thing. But Safari 4 didn't. If I can't do this I will not switch, witch suck because I hear it's good.
I recently noticed that my firefox finds a reason to crash on its whim most often than it was during the pre snow leopard era. Any one knows the reason why it does or how I can pin point the problem it happens next time?
View 7 Replies View RelatedI downloaded Keyconfig since I couldn't for the life of me figure out how to move to the next or previous tabs. And it's not in the list.
So I want to add in a new shortcut but I need the code for next tab and previous tab.
This afternoon, I erased the hard disk of my Macbook Pro 13'' with the idea that I had carefully saved all data on my external hard disk. After OSX Leopard was installed, I attempted to restore my Firefox profile to only find out that I had copied the wrong data to my external hard disk. Namely, the Firefox cache data instead of the profile itself.
The Firefox cache data can be found in 'user name' -> library -> caches -> Firefox -> Profiles, whereas I apparently should have copied the profile that can be found in 'user name' -> library -> application support -> Firefox -> Profile.
Now it seems that I didn't format the system properly as there are several files in the trash bin that I deleted before I erased the hard disk - even though I did erase the disk through the Disk Utility.
Therefore, I want to know whether there is any possibility to retrieve the profile that I need in order to restore my bookmarks/configuration for Firefox.
i am trying to play a video on this page: [url]but it says that i am missing a plugin, and when i click to search for the plugin it show me flip4mac, but it doesnt say it supports FF.

View 5 Replies View RelatedEver since I setup a Mac for a friend of mine, I've been very interested in the Mac and Mac OS X. It's fairly easy to learn and runs very well. Of course, I've been dealing with Windows for over 15 years, dating back to Windows 3.1. I also work with Windows 99% of the time since I mainly work on PCs as a PC tech.
Of course, Windows will run on a Mac using Boot Camp, but it seems like there's a whole variety of glitches when running Windows on a Mac using Boot Camp. Thus, I come up with the following question: which version of Windows runs best under Boot Camp? XP? 32 or 64-bit Vista? 32 or 64-bit Windows 7 RC? Do I need to wait for Snow Leopard to come out with better Boot Camp drivers? Do I even need to wait for Windows 7 to come out?
I am seriously looking at getting a 13" MacBook Pro and will most likely run some version of Windows on it using Boot Camp. Also, depending on the version, what amount of RAM is needed? I know that if you have 4GB or more RAM, you might as well run 64-bit Windows 7. Other than that, I'll probably run mostly Mac OS X on the MacBook Pro, but having some version of Windows on the MacBook Pro running under BootCamp would come in handy. Not sure if I'll do Parallels or Fusion.

View 8 Replies View RelatedI'm curious if the programs are identical, or if there is still a difference between the products? Ideally I'd like to have Office running in OSX, however if I have to I will run it in a VM. Mind you I'd like to avoid the headache of opening a VM to check my mail...
View 9 Replies View RelatedI am thinking of buying one of the new macbook pro's when they come out soon, hopefully. But, I have one questions. I play WoW and COD4 on my windows desktop. I just updated to Firefox 3.5 today and much to my dismay it has disabled the add-on for my fingerprint reader to log into things in Firefox on my XPS M1530.
Anyone have any idea on a workaround or an updated add-on?
I've been running Windows7 on my laptop for a good month now, or longer, and I've always had this issue with Firefox, it constantly crashes. I can't really reproduce it at will, but its often enough that in a one hour browsing session it can crash 2-3 times.
All drivers are up to date, Firefox is up to date...I run the same on my desktop and have never had an issue so it must be something specific.
A couple of months ago when I was still on RC, I noticed that when I was using Firefox it would often lock up to the point where
it would fade out and I had to wait for it to come back. It would also sometimes just bring my entire computer to a crawl.
after being annoyed with sony not having an updated upek security suite software I found a compatible version that works with firefox 3. here is the url to the file

After you install it, it will ask you if you want to install the firefox patch.
Now my fingerprint reader works perfectly with firefox 3.
After trying for months to make my DigitalPersona to work with Firefox 3.5, I read on their website that the solution for HP users is "HP Personal" 4.1. I asked HP Support about it and here it is the solution...for now:

known issue with FF -- unsure about other browsers -- Sometimes, I just want to take a peek at a PDF, not have it sitting on my desktop.
How can I keep Firefox from saving every download no matter what I specify?
this message pops up sometimes during Firefox:

I have got a Latitude E6530 laptop with an Intel quad-core i7-3720QM CPU and 8 GB RAM.
The strange thing is when I use Firefox (with not more than 6 tabs) specially using gmail, after a while scrolling and browsing become very slow; even typing become slow. As I wrote the laptop is one of the latest generation. I can not realize where the issue could be.
Everytime I open iTunes and play music while browsing Firefox, iTunes ALWAYS skips & crackles when the webpages are loading. CPU usage is very low and memory usage is usually at 1.15GB of 2GB. I tried changing the priority of itunes.exe to "realtime" but the problem still persists...
Anybody have any solutions? All I ask of my Dell is for it to play music while browsing the internet and it seems like it can't even do that...
