Apple :: Logitech Z-Cinema Speakers

Anyone using these speakers on your Mac?
They are USB speakers and Logitech does not make drivers for them for OS X. Thus, they do not work properly. I can not adjust Bass or Treble, and the Volume adjustment isn't vary good (can't get it vary low). I have been dealing with Logitech support and they said they should work with OS X's drivers. Welllll they don't, after multiple emails back and forth they said to check to see if my audio drivers are up to date. Witch I am pretty sure they are. They directed me to this link [url] and I can't even find audio drivers there.
So anyone use these speakers on your Mac? Or anyone have a clue what to do. Since logitech support is not vary good.

I know it's expensive but I'd like to know what's your opinion and what you could match it with if you could.

Would this female Mini-Displayport to male Displayport adapter work to connect the 24" LED Cinema Display to a non-Apple PC with standard Displayport connection ?
My understanding is that the Minidisplayport and Displayport are electrically identically, with the difference being in the size of the connector and gauge of the cable. And that only Apple is using the Mini!
I just bought a Dell Studio XPS 16 and the LED Cinema is on my short list for a desktop monitor. To my knowledge it is the only H-IPS panel with LED backlight available, excluding some extremely expensive professional displays.
Dell is introducing a U2410 that also has a 24" H-IPS panel and Displayport connector. But unfortunately it keeps the CCFL backlighting, LED probably would have made the display too costly to compete with the HP L2475. I expect it to be about $600 and would be willing to pay the extra for the Apple. The XPS 16 has the RGBLED 1080p screen so I expect to be disappointed with the typical CCFL on 24" monitor...
The adapter is cheap so I could always order it, and bring it with my Dell notebook to the Apple store. They'd probably let me give it a try. I know the captive cable also has a USB connector which will work without trouble. Obviously the power cable will not, although it would be interesting to replace the adapter with one that would fit the Dell

I've been toying with the idea of selling my 15" hi-spec MacBook Pro and buying either a 13" MacBook Pro or MacBook Air and a 24" monitor to connect it to (I just bought an Xbox 360 so I no longer have any use for the extra power in my 15").
I know a while back Apple had their 24" LED Cinema Displays refurbished for $599, but I haven't seen that deal in a while, and I really can't afford to spend $900 on a display.
So, my question is, what's the closest monitor to the LED ACD in terms of color accuracy, gamut, and so forth? I do web and graphic design, so I need something that's high quality (but at the same time, I'd like to stay below $600 if possible). Additionally (although not nearly as great a concern), are there any monitors that have a similar design/appearance to the ACD?

I'm a long time reader for Notebookreview but first time poster.
I got my Studio 15 about 3 days ago. Now I'm planning to buy Logitech X-530 speakers for my room. I was wondering if the laptop is equipped with the hardware to be able to play all Logitech speakers (4 + 1 subwoofer)
Its specs are: Total RMS Power: 70.1 Watts
* Subwoofer: 25 watts RMS into 4 ohms at 100Hz at 10% THD (total harmonic distortion) clipping
* Satellites: 45.1 watts RMS (2x7.4w Front; 15.5w Center: 2x7.4w Rear) into 4 ohms at 1 kHz at 10% THD clipping
* Total Peak Power: 140Watts at <10%THD
* System THD: Better than 0.07% THD before clipping .....

I will be traveling abroad for a couple of months and I will be listening to music obviously. I would like to find a good set of speakers that I could attach to my MPB.
Initially I was looking for an iPod dock/alarm clock, that would also have an audio in that I could attach my MPB to and have that work but I don't think they make those. So I would like to find some good speakers instead.

I can't seem to get the internal speaker for my macbook pro (core 2 duo, 15", 2.16GHz) to work. When I use headphones, it works but when I take the headphones out of the jack, there's a red light coming from my headphone jack and my speakers won't put out any sound.

have you ever noticed, sometimes, a kind of popping noise coming from macbook speakers (I have the alu one) when you are launching a program that will require the use of speakers? (never happened in itunes, it occurred only when launching quick time videos or some videos / music from the web...)
As said before, it is not always occurring but it happens only sometimes. Is it maybe linked to the osx putting speakers in standby when not needeed for a while (it happens also with electrical supply) ? I read something on the net about a drawback for this behavior inside leopard, but is it really the case?
Moreover, this 'popping noise' intensity is constant whatever the preset volume of the speakers is, and, up to now, I have never heard it with the speakers set off.

Are the speakers considered kind of low grade compared to the rest of the computer? or could it just have been someone in the family that had the music up to loud for a extended period of time?

Is it just me, or are the speakers on the SXPS13 very, very quiet? The max volume is on this thing is inadequate. I'm forced to use headphones.
Has anyone else had a problem with this? Is there anything to be done about it?

I'm thinking about getting one... but after browsing the internet a bit, I see some people saying that the speakers are absolutely hideous. I understand that sometimes only the people experiencing a problem speak up, and that might give me an unfairly bad impression of the speakers.
So I'm asking here. How are the Studio 15 speakers? I know that notebook speakers are usually not great, but how do they compare to the middle-of-the-road average notebook speakers?
How do those new LED screens they're offering on the Studio 15s look?)

I was speaker shopping for my Z and wanted something a bit high-end that would match the Z in performance, but not too much in the sens of a 5.1 unit as I already have one of those in my living room. That's why I decided to keep to 2.1 systems.
I came across great deal, the Cambridge Sound Works Extreme 2: [url]
LOTS and Lots of power, but great price. I think I will order these this week.
I did have the 5.1 version of this in the past, so highly recommended.
So, I was wondering, what speakers do you use with your VAIO?

the speakers sound blown out at anything above minimal volume. i don't need them for music, only watching tv shows or short internet clips. there's what i guess you'd call a rattle when anyone is talking. i just want to know if there's any options i can set from the IDT audio control panel as well as specific EQ functions on playback programs like winamp or media player classic to help solve this. isn't getting outside speakers or headphones.

I was searching and found some posts saying very good things about harman kardon speakers and JBL,anyone knows if there is such a thing as speakers replacement or upgrade for notebooks? If not i guess i'll have to buy new altec ones.
