View 4 RepliesI found a thread on another forum a while back with programs for the Logitech LCD on the m1730, but can't for the life of me find it. Even using Google (

I got my Studio 15 about 3 days ago. Now I'm planning to buy Logitech X-530 speakers for my room. I was wondering if the laptop is equipped with the hardware to be able to play all Logitech speakers (4 + 1 subwoofer)
Its specs are: Total RMS Power: 70.1 Watts
* Subwoofer: 25 watts RMS into 4 ohms at 100Hz at 10% THD (total harmonic distortion) clipping
* Satellites: 45.1 watts RMS (2x7.4w Front; 15.5w Center: 2x7.4w Rear) into 4 ohms at 1 kHz at 10% THD clipping
* Total Peak Power: 140Watts at <10%THD
* System THD: Better than 0.07% THD before clipping .....
Anyone using these speakers on your Mac?
They are USB speakers and Logitech does not make drivers for them for OS X. Thus, they do not work properly. I can not adjust Bass or Treble, and the Volume adjustment isn't vary good (can't get it vary low). I have been dealing with Logitech support and they said they should work with OS X's drivers. Welllll they don't, after multiple emails back and forth they said to check to see if my audio drivers are up to date. Witch I am pretty sure they are. They directed me to this link [url] and I can't even find audio drivers there.
So anyone use these speakers on your Mac? Or anyone have a clue what to do. Since logitech support is not vary good.
Bought VX revolution for OSX and can't customize it to autoscroll? Is that something too much to ask for?

View 7 Replies View RelatedI know it's kinda dumb but it's annoyingly bright when I've got the computer on at night and it's busy converting video or doing other work. It's also less power used.
It can't be done through software but has anyone physically unplugged them? I've not opened up the case yet so I don't know how practical that would be, thought I'd ask around first.
what is the easiest way to connect and properly operate a Logitech Z-5500 surround sound system from my new macbook pro 15inch. Do i have to get a new sound card? Or is there some sort of cable that I can buy instead?

View 2 Replies View RelatedHow to disable auto brightness feature on my laptop. It's dell xps 15 with 1080p display. It happens on battery only, on every power plan. I don't mean the display dimming after a certain time, but it just goes from bright to dark. The darker the image, the darker the screen dimms and vice versa. I had another problem which was the colors going crazy when the screen went back on after unplugging charger or waking it on battery (it all went down to what was like 256 color range).
This problem was resolved after unchecking "Intel Display Power Saving Technology" in Dell Quick Set. Yet I can't get rid of the auto screen dimming which is extremely annoying. Has the laptop got an ambient light sensor or something?
I all seems like there's an ambient light sensor which is trigggered by the brightness of the screen itself and it shouldn't work like that.
Mouse is jumping all over the screen - I believe because it is easy to accidentally brush the touchpad while typing.
The Control Panel - Mouse on this Latitude no longer has an option to independently enable/disable the touchpad and the pointing stick - but surely there is a way to do this on this e4300.
Am running XP - 32bit.
I went to my dell outlet today and I looked at the m130 they had on display. The screen was absolutely magnificent by far the most crisp screen have ever seen on a laptop. I checked the type of screen and im pretty sure its lg.
View 10 Replies View RelatedI have a crack on my screen that starts in the bottom left and spreads to almost the top right. It is not bad and everything works fine except for the touchscreen. Only half the touchscreen works and sometimes the crack causes the other half of the touchscreen to act on its own and its very annoying and messes me up when I try to surf the web or use Microsoft Office. Is there a way I can disable the touchscreen?
View 9 Replies View RelatedBeen recently having a problem with my M1730. On occasion my screen has been making a buzzing noise, accompanied by a major lag spike (this seems to be more frequent when I play games, but it still seldom happens when I'm not).
I don't believe that this problem happened -BEFORE- enabling SLI after installing Windows 7 (but with SLI off my FPS isn't so good).
I'm wondering if anyone knows what the problem might be? It's very troublesome, and I am desperately searching for a remedy. I have all my drivers and what not up to date. Has anyone run into this problem? Anyone know what it might be?
Having played with my 1730 for a day now I can safely say the performance in games is fantastic. I'm very happy.......
However, I've got to say I'm really disappointed by the screen. In dark games full screen brightness results iin incredibly washed out blacks. Lowering the brightness helps, but then the screen has no punch at all. It almost like a grey film over the screen, or that gamma is set too high. Lowering the brightness improves blacks significantly, but results in an image that is far too dark to use.
I suspect the anti-glare coating doesn't help. Even a few degrees vertical difference when watching the screen alters the brightness and colour temperature. I actually find myself angling the lid forward so I am slightly above the screen.
I've had many Dells now, and the screen on my M90 is FAR superior imo.
I'm wondering whether to contact Dell and try and get them to install one of those, unless anyone can come up with a solution. I think I have settings set to "my preference" and performance.
The thing is, the screen CAN look great when surfing etc, but the black performance and colour saturation on games is pretty poor.
The laptop: HP Envy TouchSmart 15 Notebook PC (15-j173cl)
Windows 8.1 Pro
The problem: I use an external monitor, so my laptop is usually shut. Randomly, my touch screen THINKS something is touching it, which disrupts whatever I'm doing. I would like to disable the touch screen completely, as I do not use it at all.
I thought maybe the latch wasn't closing properly, but the screen resolution changes when I shut the laptop, so it KNOWS it's closed and switches to the proper resolution for my external monitor, but it DOES NOT disactivate the touch screen, and some dirt or something is touching it, changing where my mouse is pointed, where I am typing, etc.
I have tried cleaning the screen and keyboard with compressed air.
The problem happens randomly; sometimes when I CAD for the day, sometimes after hours of working.
Just picked up this model from Best Buy yesterday. Like everyone else in the large thread I am having the yellow color issue as well. However, I have another issue that I can't seem to find any information on.
The brightness on my screen is constantly adjusting. It is most obvious when making the move from the desktop to Metro. After hitting the windows key, I can see the brightness increasing in stages (about 4 times) after flipping over to Metro.
I have disabled Auto-Brightness under the Change My PC Setting -> Power and Sleep menu. I have also disabled Enable Adpative Brightness under Windows Power Mangement but the issue still persists.
Is there any other location I might be missing a setting that can be affecting this ? Brightness is set to full and keeps dipping down.
watching videos using VLC every so often when going full screen i get an "display driver has stopped responding and has recovered." error thingy.
http://blog.stevex.net/index.php/200...has-recovered/
pretty much that....I'm running is SLI, does that have anything to do with it? Also I'm going to try updating my graphics driver, but does anyone have a good driver cleaner recommendation .....
Randomly my m1730 gets a blue screen that says....
**Hardware Malfunction
NMI:Parity Check/ Memory Parity Error.
Any ideas? its happened 2 times.
Recently after my computer screen crashed: my screen froze and all over the screen green stripes were visible. After a forced shutdown and restart, my computer screen started up with the screen flickering red-green-blue-white-black all over again.
To see if it had anything to do with my LCD I connected my laptop to an external screen. (I'm currently writing this on my TV-screen with input from my laptop, but all over the screen there are vertical green bars, 5 of them) If I set my resolution lower, the screen bars seem to spread out over the screen as if my screen was woven together with green cloth. I have tried another input with a different cable(DVI) but the same problem occurs.
Atfirst I thought it could be a virus, as I wasn’t really doing anything heavy for my CPU. Since my computer wasn’t really able to start up, I thought I couldas well just install Windows 8. I deleted everything in the process. After this I’ve installed every driver necessary (Windows 8 does this automatically for the base drivers I think). Both my graphics card run the latest Nvidia Driver, downloaded from their site. Only one stopped working(image) Also my PCI device says it has no drivers. Only there are no drivers downloadable from Dell that are compatible with Windows 8.
Main question: What causes the problem described? Is something repairable or do I have to buy new things?
The last 2 days I have wasted my time trying to fix my laptop. I have tried many things en read many advices all over the internet, but unfortunately every post is a little outdated and not similar to mine.

I have attached the images in which the error message is shown. For my graphics card I have installed the latest Nvidia drivers available. It might also be a problem that my graphic cards aren't used for the output of my display.
The drivers for the PCI device on Dell are outdated and not compatible with windows 8, which I run my computer with now.
Relatively soon after a Windows Update (Vista), my screen blacked out and the resolution changed from 1920x1200 to something like 800x600. After restarting the notebook, everything seemed to be back to normal, except my graphics card (GeForce 8800M GTX x 2) wasn't working, and upon looking in the device manager, it said the device wasn't working (code 43).
So, I tried uninstalling drivers/reinstalling drivers, etc. and nothing seemed to work. And now something I've done has made the main VGA drivers or whatever not work, and all I see is a big black screen on startup (but the mouse icon is on the screen and can move around).
