Dell XPS M1730 :: Screen Crashes - Green Stripes Visible

Recently after my computer screen crashed: my screen froze and all over the screen green stripes were visible. After a forced shutdown and restart, my computer screen started up with the screen flickering red-green-blue-white-black all over again.
To see if it had anything to do with my LCD I connected my laptop to an external screen. (I'm currently writing this on my TV-screen with input from my laptop, but all over the screen there are vertical green bars, 5 of them) If I set my resolution lower, the screen bars seem to spread out over the screen as if my screen was woven together with green cloth. I have tried another input with a different cable(DVI) but the same problem occurs.
Atfirst I thought it could be a virus, as I wasn’t really doing anything heavy for my CPU. Since my computer wasn’t really able to start up, I thought I couldas well just install Windows 8. I deleted everything in the process. After this I’ve installed every driver necessary (Windows 8 does this automatically for the base drivers I think). Both my graphics card run the latest Nvidia Driver,downloaded from their site. Only one stopped working(image) Also my PCI device says it has no drivers. Only there are no drivers downloadable from Dell that are compatible with Windows 8.
Main question: What causes the problem described? Is something repairable or do I have to buy new things?

The last 2 days I have wasted my time trying to fix my laptop. I have tried many things en read many advices all over the internet, but unfortunately every post is a little outdated and not similar to mine.

I have attached the images in which the error message is shown. For my graphics card I have installed the latest Nvidia drivers available. It might also be a problem that my graphic cards aren't used for the output of my display.
The drivers for the PCI device on Dell are outdated and not compatible with windows 8, which I run my computer with now.

The operating system is loaded, and the computer (XPS M1330, Service Tag 7GQ814J) monitor glows white. Then appear on the screen gray vertical stripes. Until this fault computer worked with green vertical stripes on the screen.

our Dell 9300 has these stripes since 6 month. I guess it is the Ram on the X300
but i although have read this could be an issue of the LCD.
Who has experiences and can tell me?
Hope you can recognize it on the pics.
Btw, i mean the vertical thin coloured stripes on the right side of screen. Others are reflexions from cam.

i have a Dell XPS M1530 laptop its 3 years old it used to show white screen on start up which soon converts into grey and sometimes colored stripes and than it eventually stops on a white screen with a thick black vertical stripe in the center and finally changes to black sometimes i car hear the start up tone of windows and even i can presumably browse the files and open them too again i can hear the sound but could not be able to see anything.

Basically I start the laptop up, then the very first screen that appears is a black screen which then proceeds to show these coloured stripes before changing to a white screen which then shows more stripes.
The laptop doesnt progress to the startup or anything and I cant access safemode or anything.

On may 2014 i bought a lenovo thinkpad t440p from amazon. Recently the screen make some white stripes if you press lightly on the borders or if you move the screen.
I dont know how to proceed to check it ( the computer is still on warranty from lenovo )... Also the computer showed me a warning message on harddisk SMART short self test when i run the hardware test.

My Dell Inspiron 17R laptop boots normally. I can use it for some time, until the entire screen turns green. I still see the mouse cursor and I can move it around. Ctrl alt delete doesn't work. The only way to shut it down is hard restart.

Hello i recently received a dell studio 1737 for Christmas and about every couple weeks the screen acts weird,
its like a bunch of green pixels just start appearing all over the screen and wont go away until i either close the laptop or restart. After I do that it will go away for a couple weeks and then it will happen again.
I've been trying to just ignore it and keep thinking it will go away but idk. Has anyone else had this problem and what could it be?

I have an HP touchsmart 15, it's fairly new; about two weeks old and the operating system is windows 8. So maybe after a day or two there has been a green screen appearing instead of video. I used to be able to restart the computer and it'd be fine for a while, then it became more freqent. Now no matter whether I restart my computer or I'm just starting it up the screen will be green whether it be youtube or skype. This is also happening with my sister's computer and it is the same type. My roomate, who does not have the touch version does not have any problems with her laptop.

Recently my Dell Inspiron 1545 screen is showing green patches. They are only increasing day by day and after rubbing the screen they disappear for some time before appearing again. I tried some software solutions like pixelhealer etc but no use.
Is there any other way to eliminate dead pixels? How much the hardware replacement will cost ?

I have a Dell Inspiron 15 (N5040) and currently having problems with it. I was watching something this morning and suddenly the screen turned green and then shut off. It turns on but the screen refuses to. I first expected that the screen is just unplugged inside the computer so I tried to hook it up to my TV via Hdmi and oddly it didn't do anything.I took it all apart disconnecting everything and then reconnecting everything. Everything seemed to be in good shape. No signs of shorts. Then after letting it run I noticed it beep 4 times. According to Dell 4 beeps mean "Read/Write error." I don't know if they meant the ram or hdd so I tried isolating both sticks of ram and no difference. I tried putting in two different hdds, nothing different. Even if they were I don't know why the screen wouldn't turn on and the bios wouldn't try to load. I suspect that the gpu is just fried. Dell Inspiron 15 (N5040), Intel i3, 8 gb of ram. Windows 7.

I m having an HP pavilion G62016-TX with Windows7 ultimate with 64 bit version,Purchased on Nov'2012.
Recently my PC crashed and when it was reinstalled with all drivers from HP FTP i am having below problems.
When i am adjusting my brightness , it is getting adjusted but the adjusting bar usually shown in the screen is missing.

trying to do a fresh install of xp thou a its running quite slow and getting loads of popups etc.
Any way put the XP CD and boot rom it via the bios. It begins to load all te XP files then suddenly crashes to the famous blue screen , saying something about a hardware problem, and my PC was shut down to prevent any damage.

I have an hp Pavilion g7-1150us Notebook that is approximately 3 yrs old. I turned it on the other day to find that the screen is all pink and green with lines etc... Is there an independent video/graphics card that can be replaced? I would like to be somewhat knowledgeable when taking it in to be repaired.

So I just bought a new HP ENVY TouchSmart 17-j130us (Windows 8.1) a few weeks ago and now something is wrong with the screen. I decided I would connect my laptop to my TV monitor via HDMI. I set the laptop on top of my Xfinity cable box while it was plugged in (HDMI cable is too short) and continued doing my homework. A few hours later, when I unplugged it from the HDMI cable and picked the laptop up, the screen turned greenish and flickered. It went away eventually. But then I noticed that when I tilted the screen back or fowards or even slightly moved the laptop, the screen would turn green again and flicker green a little. I hope this is not my fault in some way. The touchscreen and the backlight works just fine. I can still see what's on the screen while its green. Right now it's fine unless I move the laptop or tilt the screen in some way. Also, when plugged into the TV, that’s fine as well.

When i put a DVD in no picture shows up- there is still audio and i can still click options but i cannot see what i am selecting. I also tried playing a youtube video which showed up as a green screen. Ive looked around and it says i need to update my graphics driver. I already looked on the acer website for a graphics driver download and i cannot find one.

I'm pretty sure that my LCD screen is shot, and unfortunately, the warranty on this notebook expired in october, so sending it to SONY for repair is completely out of the question (They want $500 when I paid $900 for this notebook, it's absolutely not worth it)
That leaves me with the option of replacing the screen on my own.
Ordering a screen through Sony Parts Direct would cost me around $250, while getting a cheap third party replacement off of ebay for around $75 dollars. I don't really care either way as long as the computer works for at least another year.
So my questions would be,
1) Has anyone ordered a replacement screen off of ebay before, and what was the quality like?
and
2) Where can I find the disassembly, repair instructions for this computer on the Sony website?

I've been having trouble with the screen on my HP Pavilion dm4 2070 USA. Half of my screen has some green/blue dots on it. when i open a webpage you cannot see the dots. This is the first time this has happened.
