View 1 RepliesThis Latitude E6410 is my 4th dell laptop, (3 desktops too) so I thought I was familiar with their behaviour. Nevertheless a new issue has arisen, when idle for some time the screen goes blank, similar to my other machines. Usually I press enter, they wake up and I carry on with my work.. The E6410's screen goes blank and will not display again. All the activity is revived as I can hear the sounds my spreadsheets and accounting and tax software make, except for the screen display. A reboot is necessary.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI shutdown my laptop yesterday normally and today when i tried opening it it gives me a blank black screen, and then in a minute or so it makes 2 beep sounds and that's it...
things i've tried that didn't work :
1)disconnecting battery and pressing the power button for 60 seconds
2)placing a magnet on the spot where the switching lid should be
I have 7 Latitude E6320, all with identic Confgiuration and same Problem. Sometimes the Laptop freezes. When this happens I can still click one to three times somewhere, move the windows and mouse, then no Application reacts anymore. I can still move the mouse. It's not possible to start Taskmanager or kill Processe via Process-Viewer. If Process Viewer runs before the Laptop hangs it shows high load at "Hardware-Interrupts" ~30%. If this happens the HD-LED is on without any blinking. The only way to get out of this is to turn the Laptop off.
There are no Errors or Warnings in System-Log (only at restart).
All Updates from DELL (Drivers, Bios) and Microsoft are installed (including SP1 for WIN7). Diagnostic boot runs without Error. the sfc command runs also without any Problems.
What can I do ?.. I want to avoid to reinstall Windows 7 & Software (32Bit) on 7 Laptops...
Is there any known Problem with this Laptop ?( In the last days a few new BIOS has been released .)
I recently got an acer aspire e15 for xmas and I've started to have problems with it like when i turn it on and adjust the screen or simply pick it up to move it the screen will turn off like a standby but take ages coming back on and sometimes it will just simple restart the laptop....
View 1 Replies View Relatedcreate a new Bios Screen to ours Latitude E6410.I have used a bootable CD with a splash.exe file to load a Bios Screen with the company logo and it had worked in ours Latitude D600/610/620/630 and E6400.Now when I try to do the same with our E6410 I'm getting the message " This Bios does not support splash.exe. Upgrade your system Bios and try again."
View 2 Replies View RelatedThis has just started to happen when booting in normal mode. I am currently typing in Safe mode as it doesn't freeze.
In normal mode the PC may or maybe not work for a while then it will freeze, I can still move the mouse cursor but nothing can/will be selected. I had task manager running and CPU was high load but not 100% and RAM wasn't maxxed either but an svchost.exe is taking around 50% CPU when idle
I've noticed that sometimes after using the pointing stick for a while that if I let go, the mouse pointer will continue to move in a direction on its own.
It will only last for a few seconds but it is annoying when trying to scroll through documents and such. Is this a touchcheck problem or a driver problem? Or is it hardware?
i have an hp 15-g019wm laptop. product # f9h60ua#aba , serial # cnd4060kxc. when i turn it on i am able to input my password on the lock screen but then i get a black screen with nothing but the mouse pointer on it. i've tried the hard restart several times with no results. i've also tried the repeated F11 button push but nothing happens. any tips? also im running windows 8 and the laptop is still under warranty.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI recently purchased a Lenovo y510p for college. I do not use it that often because i have a nice desktop at home and have not moved yet. When i do use it, it freezes 3-5 minutes after the start up. during the freeze i can move the mouse but when i click on anything nothing happens. When i mouse to the corners the normal windows 8 thing dont pop up. After it gets done freezing for a few minutes evertying i clicked on or did during the freeze pops up really fast.
I believe i have updated all my drivers. i unistalled mcafee and really only have a few things installed liked Steam, and Final Fantasy 14: A Real Reborn. Sometimes after the freeze windowns stops responding and i have to hard reset. At that poing i somtimes get stuck in a boot loop and just have to keep resetting till it fixes itself. I also installed chrome.
I dont want to have to reistall windows or do a factory reset. i do have a warrenty but i start school in 2 days and cant really ship this anywhere. I dont have the serial number with me but i have the laptop with the duel graphics.
I have a ThinkPad Edge 11
It came pre installed with synaptics 15.0.24.0 and windows 7
When i move a window partially out of the screen, and i move the mouse on the edge the window is, it automatically moves the window back to the screen. Iwant to stop this.
aero snap is disabled.
this don't happen in safe mode, so is definitely some third party application?
Mouse is jumping all over the screen - I believe because it is easy to accidentally brush the touchpad while typing.
The Control Panel - Mouse on this Latitude no longer has an option to independently enable/disable the touchpad and the pointing stick - but surely there is a way to do this on this e4300.
Am running XP - 32bit.
I am using lenovo g400s touch laptop( i5 3230 m processor...4 gb ram....500 gb hdd). My mouse touch pad is not responding properly......mouse pointer does not move....sometimes .does not respond to taps...and scrolling is also not functioning properly..... I am forced to use an external mouse...
View 2 Replies View RelatedI've got a dell Latitude D410; after it shows the Dell screen and the Windows XP screen (with the loading bar down the bottom), it goes to a screen with a blue background and a frozen mouse; after a while the mouse starts working but nothing else happens. I've tried booting from Last known good configuration but didn't work.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI'm experiencing a problem with multiple Latitude E7440 laptops.
When I undock from a port replicator, the laptop screen goes black. The screen never returns to a usable state. I must turn off the laptop manually and power back on. This is not occurring 100% of the time but is occurring fairly often. I'm running the latest drivers and bios update.
I have a Latitude 6430u.
When I try to move this laptop around or bump it just right it suddenly goes to sleep. When I say bump it I mean like having it on your lap and moving around to get comfortable will cause it to do this. Sometimes when you move it from your lap to a table it will just go to sleep.
I have removed and reseated the battery several times, no change.
I have run the online diagnostics, no issues found.
I've got an old Thinkpad R61i with a Western Digital "Blue" 320gb drive installed in it running Vista Premium.
I bought the drive from Zipzoomfly and installed it into the Thinkpad in January in order to bring back some life to the computer. And it worked; it's fast and quiet.
A few weeks ago, I bought a refurb E6400 from the Dell outlet store. It came with a 160gb hard drive installed.
It's a nice drive. But as the days tick away, I've been thinking of pulling the 320 from the Thinkpad and installing it into the E6400.
I'm mean what the heck, I'll get twice the space, and it's a Western Digital. It's a win win.
My question is this - are SATA laptop optical drives the same as older IDE drives, in that they are universally compatible
with laptops, or do OEMs have drives that don't follow a standardized size and form factor now?
I found a Lite-On DVD-RW with LightScribe on eBay for like $40, but I don't want to get it if it's not going to fit.......................................................
Does the Latitude E6410 have a weak or a time critical signaling on the VGA port? The other day I had to replace my Latitude with a backup laptop as it was unable to drive a VGA splitter feeding three projectors. There was no problems in driving at single projector though. The other LG laptop E500 had no problems in running exactly the same presentation on all three projectors through the splitter.
The rather surprising thing was that as long as my power point presentation were display in edit mode, it worked fine whereas in show mode all of the connected projectors went blank. I tried to exercise the Fn F8 with no change.Would a VGA amplifier do the trick?
My Latitude E6410 Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit machine crashed yesterday and when it came back up I was no longer able to use the touch-pad buttons below the touchpad, or the middle button above the touchpad. The pointer stick, along with the right and left button above the touchpad are still working properly.
I have tried reinstalled the ALPS driver and the Dell touchpad software. When I open the touchpad software it shows the touchpad as being enabled but it does not show any configuration for the pointer stick or buttons above the touchpad. what driver or application I need to install to get my touchpad and buttons operational again?
My company has offered to give to me my Latitude e6410. However, I cannot keep the hard drive. It has to be destroyed per policy. I am able to pull off recovery information and build my own image. One more concern is that the current hard drive is encrypted with Symantec Endpoint Encryption (SEE). Therefore, I do not want to simply clone the drive as I do not want no cannot use that image.
Also, if I need to reinstall my own image of Win 7 from new disks, will this e641 run 64bit. Currently the OS is WIn7 Pro.What about the recovery partition? I already have a spare 5ooGB 7200rpm 2.5" disk and i have a lot of hardware experience so I have no concerns about the actual disk replacement. It's just the image.
I have one device, a 3DRobotics PixHawk autopilot, which connects intermittently via USB to my E6410. All other USB devices, flash drives, cameras, wireless rcvr etc. always work fine. This one device does not. It only connects occasionally and usually does not. The failures issued by the device vary.
If I hook the device to my Asus X53U, it connects every time. The Asus is extremely slow and I really need to reliably connect to the Dell.
Note: The E6410 contains an upgrade to an i7 720QM quad processor.
We image all our new systems in our organizations on SCCM. I've got one that is a puzzler. I will not get an ip from the server. Instead it displays the message "PXE-E51:No DHCP or proxyDHCP offers were received." No other computer has this issue. I does not get as far as the network boot so it is not a windows deployment service issue. And it senses if the cable is disconnected, and gives you a different PXE error. I have flashed the BIOS, no sucess. I RMA'd the motherboard, and no difference. Dell won't replace the whole system since it was a replacement for another DOA. I thought it might be that little daughter card that contains the NIC connection, but cannot see that listed on the dispatch site as a seperate part.
View 2 Replies View RelatedWhenever I plug in the charger the screen blinks black for a second, but goes back to normal afterward, and lags the computer for a few seconds (i figured that because my music or videos skips on WMP). The same thing happens when I unplug the charger. I didn't used to have this problem, it started happening when I reinstalled windows xp pro or updated to service package 2. But the previous times when I reinstalled windows, it never gave me this problem. The first time my brother reinstalled Windows he had this problem, and recently just reinstalled windows and he doesn't have this problem. Also, we have the same exact laptop and we used the same Windows XP Pro. disc.I don't know how to bring up all my information, I'm guessing its called BIOS, but I have a Dell Latitude D531, it has AMD Turion 64 X2 TL-56, 1gb of RAM, using SP2, using an OEM battery and charger(I highly doubt the battery and charger are the problem, but I thought I should mention that).
View 1 Replies View RelatedAbout a week ago, the (external) screen of my dell lattitude D830 went completely black. I hadn't got a clue wat to do, so I waited a while, and when nothing happened I turned off the computer. I've been googling for a while, and found something about POST-codes here [URL] ..... apparently the video-card doesn't work anymore (If I start the computer with FN+power, Num and Caps flash, and Scroll burns permanently). Lucky for me my Dell was old, and I had recently replaced it, but I still wanted to use my old computer for rendering etcera. Would this still be possible? I have the idea that the computer doesn't boot anymore (I can't see whether that's true, since there's no screen). Would it be possible to make it boot again, so that I can use my old Dell on a network?

View 3 Replies View RelatedI received a e6410 laptop through ma company. XP is installed on it. My problem: the webcam is not working.
So, first I download and install the latest driver from the dell website. But there was an error during the installation.
Then I look in the device manager and no webcam is present at all. So it's seems to be an hardware problem.
So I go to the bios and look for an option to activate it but there is no option in the dell bios...
a way to have my webcam detected by the system)
I bought aDell Latitude E6410 laptop yesterday and every time it turns on it says no boot or something. So I push the enter button and it resets. Then when it shows the dell logo again I press F12 and go to the boot sequence and its set on cd drive and not the internal HDD. So I choose to redo that all over again and then press boot from internal HDD and it works no problem but its a lot to go through just to start a laptop. How can I figure out how to change the admin password so I can set the boot sequence right.
View 2 Replies View RelatedLatitude E6410, changed a bad HD for a new one. Installed windows 7. Besides having issues with WIFI and USB drivers, I cannot do a windows update, it shows a big red X, message I get is
" Windows Update cannot currently check for updates, because the service is not running. You many need to restart your computer"
I updated the bios, and rebooted like 15 times.
