I have a ThinkPad Edge 11
It came pre installed with synaptics 15.0.24.0 and windows 7
When i move a window partially out of the screen, and i move the mouse on the edge the window is, it automatically moves the window back to the screen. Iwant to stop this.
aero snap is disabled.
this don't happen in safe mode, so is definitely some third party application?
I recently purchased a Lenovo y510p for college. I do not use it that often because i have a nice desktop at home and have not moved yet. When i do use it, it freezes 3-5 minutes after the start up. during the freeze i can move the mouse but when i click on anything nothing happens. When i mouse to the corners the normal windows 8 thing dont pop up. After it gets done freezing for a few minutes evertying i clicked on or did during the freeze pops up really fast.
I believe i have updated all my drivers. i unistalled mcafee and really only have a few things installed liked Steam, and Final Fantasy 14: A Real Reborn. Sometimes after the freeze windowns stops responding and i have to hard reset. At that poing i somtimes get stuck in a boot loop and just have to keep resetting till it fixes itself. I also installed chrome.
I dont want to have to reistall windows or do a factory reset. i do have a warrenty but i start school in 2 days and cant really ship this anywhere. I dont have the serial number with me but i have the laptop with the duel graphics.
I am using lenovo g400s touch laptop( i5 3230 m processor...4 gb ram....500 gb hdd). My mouse touch pad is not responding properly......mouse pointer does not move....sometimes .does not respond to taps...and scrolling is also not functioning properly..... I am forced to use an external mouse...
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a brand new Edge E531 that I have upgraded to Win 8.1. I am trying desperately to learn to use the TouchPad, and by tweaking the various settings I am able to get it to work ok.
Except for one thing: sometimes, it seems that the TouchPad will automatically perform the default action in a dialog box or click a button automatically.
I have gone through all the settings and see nothing related to this.
Is this known behavior? Can it be prevented?, I know I can disable the TouchPad and only use TrackPoint, but since Lenovo no longer has separate right and left mouse buttons, I find it hard to use.
The "Disable touchpad when external mouse is connected" button is not on my Settings menu for the touchpad.

View 2 Replies View RelatedThe 720p webcam in my new Edge E430 (I just got it last Thursday) is not working properly. When I use the Communications Utility or Skype, the green light next to the webcam turns on, but the image window only shows a completely black image. Also, when I increase the brightness or contrast settings of the webcam, the image becomes completely gray or completely white.
The Device Manager shows two devices - the "Integrated Camera" and the "Virtual Camera." I have already tried uninstalling/reinstalling the webcam drivers, but that hasn't worked. What else can I do?
My Thinkpad boots successfully but then I cannot use either the keyboard or the mouse. No input at all possible. Even alt ctl del does not work. I have rebooted many times. I tried booting in SAFE MODE but that has not worked either. I do not have a recovery DVD at this location.
View 5 Replies View RelatedThis has just started to happen when booting in normal mode. I am currently typing in Safe mode as it doesn't freeze.
In normal mode the PC may or maybe not work for a while then it will freeze, I can still move the mouse cursor but nothing can/will be selected. I had task manager running and CPU was high load but not 100% and RAM wasn't maxxed either but an svchost.exe is taking around 50% CPU when idle
I've noticed that sometimes after using the pointing stick for a while that if I let go, the mouse pointer will continue to move in a direction on its own.
It will only last for a few seconds but it is annoying when trying to scroll through documents and such. Is this a touchcheck problem or a driver problem? Or is it hardware?
i have a dell latitude e6410 and the when it boots up its fine but when i move the mouse pad it crashes and the screen goes black.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have 7 Latitude E6320, all with identic Confgiuration and same Problem. Sometimes the Laptop freezes. When this happens I can still click one to three times somewhere, move the windows and mouse, then no Application reacts anymore. I can still move the mouse. It's not possible to start Taskmanager or kill Processe via Process-Viewer. If Process Viewer runs before the Laptop hangs it shows high load at "Hardware-Interrupts" ~30%. If this happens the HD-LED is on without any blinking. The only way to get out of this is to turn the Laptop off.
There are no Errors or Warnings in System-Log (only at restart).
All Updates from DELL (Drivers, Bios) and Microsoft are installed (including SP1 for WIN7). Diagnostic boot runs without Error. the sfc command runs also without any Problems.
What can I do ?.. I want to avoid to reinstall Windows 7 & Software (32Bit) on 7 Laptops...
Is there any known Problem with this Laptop ?( In the last days a few new BIOS has been released .)
I have a problem on my xps M1530, that sometimes when i am typing the mouse pointer automatically moves backwards or opens another window that ihave minimised, even though i am not touching the mouse pad.
it's really annoying as sometimes I don't realise it happens and it ruins what i was doing.
It seems to automatically move the text to where the mouse is pointing on the screen if you know what i mean. So i think somehow the mouse automatically positions and clicks itself. any ideas?
Has anyone come across this problem before? PLEASE HELP!. THANKS

It looks like this: 2small white triangles with a white line in between. Sometimes they point left and right, and my pc starts scrolling sideways, and sometimes they point up and down and it starts scrolling downwards.
I updated a lot of drivers and restarted my pc. I scanned for viruses, but nothing could be found.
It happens with or without a mouse inserted. It's really annoying, because surfing on the internet becomes frustrating.
O yeah, that pc doctor from the dell site did not find anything either.

Under "Computer>Properties" it is showing only 4 gb Install RAM. Why is it not reading or the system not using the additional 4 gb of RAM on the second card?

View 5 Replies View RelatedI get this spiral symbol (see above image) in place of my mouse indicator when I move my fingers a certain way on the ultranav mousepad.
One way it occurs is if I move my finger from left to right or right to left across the bottom of the ultranav mousepad.
It interferes with me being able to move the mouse. I suspect it is to prevent inadvertant movement of the mouse when your finger just brushed the ultranav mousepad. I would like to turn it off if possible.

About 2 weeks ago, my z400 automatically updated from windows 8 to windows 8.1. i have been read reviews on whether or not to restore my computer to its original state or continue with 8.1.i have noticed several malfunctions in my unit after the upgrade and quite frankly i am really hesitant on continuing with 8.1.

I'm playing a lot of movies online from netflex and others and I keep playing with the fan speeds and was wondering what's the safe temp to stay at I'd like to get a notebook cooler but I'm using one of those notebook rolling tables so theirs no room for one unless they have some kind of fans I could hook on top and have them cool the keyboard down,
I think pushing this to a max i'm going to dry out the heat sink paste in a few months or less, any thoughts on this !
do they sell USB fans for the top of the screen that I could point down to the keyboard?
I am having issues with my Dell 5547 laptop. There is a roughly 1cm border all around the screen which wasn't there before and I noticed it now as my taskbar is adjusted 1cm up but when I put google chrome in full screen it sort of chops the top bar down a bit.
I noticed through google searches other people have had similar issues with Dell laptops however I can't seem to find a solution because every time I try to turn off the "maintain display scaling" it won't let me turn it off.
For some time now I have had the problem that the Access Connections configuration window doesn't open. The icon in the taskbar does work as expected, it shows the configured profiles and I can switch between them. But I cannot edit them or create new ones, because the configuration window doesn't start. The access connections task is running in the background, but there is no visible window.
I'm using version 6.10 under Windows 7, and the problem exists on several different ThinkPad models (R500, R61). Reinstalling didn't work.
In two cases I know that Windows 7 has been updated from Vista, I'm not sure whether this is the case for all of the affected machines.
(There is another thread on this, but it relates to Windows 8. I am running Win 7 Pro 64 bit.)
I have a Thinkpad X1 Carbon type 3443-CTO. The Wi-Fi adapter -- never the stablest thing on earth -- is getting flakier and flakier. I am constantly having to reset or disable/re-enable it. The "connect automatically" settings for some of my existing Wi-Fi routers do not appear, so that I have to connect manually every time.
I purchased my new Lenovo G580 less than 1 year ago and over this time it has got slower and slower and seems to picked up a number of viruses. I am no expert so took it into our IT guy at work and he has reccomended a factory reset.
I dont think i received a disc with my laptop, how i should go about completing a factory reset and if windows will be automatically installed.
I hear people talking about this great laptop, but it seems to be smoke and mirrors.
Anyone know if and when this laptop will reach the USA?
Just received my new xps 15 touch 9530 and have been using it for about a week. I was starting up the laptop and plugged it in during the startup sequence because it was very low on battery. Ever since this the laptop will not reach its full brightness. When i use the function keys to adjust it the bottom half of the brightness bar does nothing meaning the max value is not reached. This also happens under power and control panel brightness options.
