View 2 RepliesI've noticed that sometimes after using the pointing stick for a while that if I let go, the mouse pointer will continue to move in a direction on its own.
It will only last for a few seconds but it is annoying when trying to scroll through documents and such. Is this a touchcheck problem or a driver problem? Or is it hardware?
I have a problem with touchpad, when I slide my finger over it, pointer doesn't move smoothly, it is very laggy. When I connect my mouse, it works fine and smooth. I've tried to find some solutions on here but none of them worked. OS is Windows 8.1.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI recently purchased a Lenovo y510p for college. I do not use it that often because i have a nice desktop at home and have not moved yet. When i do use it, it freezes 3-5 minutes after the start up. during the freeze i can move the mouse but when i click on anything nothing happens. When i mouse to the corners the normal windows 8 thing dont pop up. After it gets done freezing for a few minutes evertying i clicked on or did during the freeze pops up really fast.
I believe i have updated all my drivers. i unistalled mcafee and really only have a few things installed liked Steam, and Final Fantasy 14: A Real Reborn. Sometimes after the freeze windowns stops responding and i have to hard reset. At that poing i somtimes get stuck in a boot loop and just have to keep resetting till it fixes itself. I also installed chrome.
I dont want to have to reistall windows or do a factory reset. i do have a warrenty but i start school in 2 days and cant really ship this anywhere. I dont have the serial number with me but i have the laptop with the duel graphics.

One way it occurs is if I move my finger from left to right or right to left across the bottom of the ultranav mousepad.
It interferes with me being able to move the mouse. I suspect it is to prevent inadvertant movement of the mouse when your finger just brushed the ultranav mousepad. I would like to turn it off if possible.
I'm having this problem where my battery is plugged in but it is not charging. I tried a few solutions but it doesn't work. I just bought this laptop Lenovo G400s almost a month ago.

The touchpad shows only as a mouse, and scrolling & the fn+f6 option do not worked, I had it on win 8&7, worked on neither of them. I couldn't find a dedicated driver for it, and I couldn't find a post that states whether this touch pad should have those options working or it was never intended to.

I recently bought a lenovo Flex 2 -14" one. The keyboard and touchpad together keeps getting disconnected at times. The backlight also keeps blinking when turned on. View 1 Replies View RelatedI just upgraded my Y530 from 2GB*2 to 4GB*2 PC3 10666. BIOS recognizes the rams. From vista 64 startup it is extremely slow. I was able to log on, after half an hour and CPU is at 100% all the time and the computer fails to respond to mouse clicks or keyboard. An hour after this I was desperate trying to turn it off and pressed hand held the power key. Now it's corrupted my user profile. I know how to fix that but everything runs in slow motion 1:100 and I can't do anything. I tried to log on with admin and the video driver keeps crashing that I was almost not clicking fast enough to close those error dialogs and yes it's just as slow otherwise. Safe mode works fine. Win vista 64 reports 8gb in safe mode. I searched for a while and found that I might need new bios so where do I get it? All lenovo has are drivers. There was one request a while back for bios but there's no update on it.
My bios version is 10CN41WW (223)...
My laptop charger suddenly stopped working. Last night it was still working perfectly normal. I tried using my friend's charger and it charges, so it's not the battery's problem. It's not the problem with 'Plugged in, Not charging' , but actually there is no response when I plug in the charger. Is it the software problem or is it the charger's problem? View 4 Replies View RelatedI have a lenovo u410 with a 500gb hdd and a 24 gb cache. Now, I am experienced with hardware and software and have built/reinstalled a lot of computers before. This time it is a bit different. I did not get my windows 8 key with the computer only the OneKey recovery. I did do a backup with this program when the computer was new and I assume it is on the hdd.
So what I want to do is to replace the hdd with a new 2,5 in ssd and keep my windows 8 licence + all the lenovo goodness ( onekey feature, keyboard shortcuts etc..). What would be the best way of doing this? Can i transfer the backup I did to the new drive?
I was curious if it possible to move the OS to the original 24GB SSD within the Y510p? I did some searching but couldn't find my exact question!

it's really annoying as sometimes I don't realise it happens and it ruins what i was doing.
It seems to automatically move the text to where the mouse is pointing on the screen if you know what i mean. So i think somehow the mouse automatically positions and clicks itself. any ideas?

I've found some problem, pointer speed on autocad screen is very slow. That's not work. But pointer speed on other app. in windows is OK. It's only lack on autoCAD screen.
I've tried it on VMware. It's a same problem.
I have a new hp chromebook 14 purchased from hp six weeks ago. I have only had to charge it a few times but each time i plug in the charger and put my finger on the touchpad the arrow/pointer jitters around the screen randomly.
I have resorted to using a usb wireless mouse when charging and this does not suffer the same problem. Should i contact hp as i have a three year warranty.
This has just started to happen when booting in normal mode. I am currently typing in Safe mode as it doesn't freeze.
In normal mode the PC may or maybe not work for a while then it will freeze, I can still move the mouse cursor but nothing can/will be selected. I had task manager running and CPU was high load but not 100% and RAM wasn't maxxed either but an svchost.exe is taking around 50% CPU when idle

It's gotten so bad that I can't even use the computer at this time because the pointer won't stay in the same place long enough for me to type or select anything. I typically use the laptop in the screen forward configuration so I don't use the touch pad and nothing is touching it. I use the touchscreen about half the time and use an external USB mouse the rest of the time. It makes no difference which method I use or whether the external mouse is connected or not. as my fancy 4-month old laptop is essentially useless at this point.

After using the laptop for 2-3 hours, I'm getting an issue in which the mouse pointer will jump over text boxes (does this in any browser, when trying to click in the formula field in excel, even when clicking in this dialog box to type). Basically what's happening is the mouse pointer thinks the text box is higher than it really is.
So, if I go up to the address bar from under, as I pass over the bar, the arrow changes to a text cursor, but jumps above the actual address bar...if I click, I can type in the bar. If I keep going, eventually the arrow pointer will come back, but it will jump back down to the actual top of the address bar. In the case of typing in this box for posting, in order to get the cursor here " ", I have to click where I have the star above (in the word "can").
It just seems like something is very out of sync, and I'm thinking it has to do with the graphics card or some resolution setting. I have an Acer V246HL set to 1920x1080 + a Viewsonic VA2746M set to 1920x1080 as well. Only fix I've found so far is to reboot. I've messed around with the resolution numerous times. This issue only appears when connecting multiple monitors (which is a necessity). I did not have this issue w/ my previous laptop, which leads me to think this is not a monitor issue either
I just got my x230 yesterday and I'm having some weird issues.
(1) whenever my laptop goes to sleep mode. I can't seem to make it wake up. The power button would just slowly blink and would not respond to anything. I would have to hard reset my laptop for it to turn on. When I turn it back on, it would go the "Start windows normally" screen.
(2) whenever I close the lid, I'm guessing it tries to go to sleep mode, then if I wake it up, the system seem to reboot and would go to the "start windows normally" screen.
Both seems to all relates to sleep mode.
Sometimes my cursor changes into a shape that's not in the list of possible mouse pointers and I can't print screen it, because it's not in the image when I search it..
It looks like this: 2small white triangles with a white line in between. Sometimes they point left and right, and my pc starts scrolling sideways, and sometimes they point up and down and it starts scrolling downwards.
I updated a lot of drivers and restarted my pc. I scanned for viruses, but nothing could be found.
It happens with or without a mouse inserted. It's really annoying, because surfing on the internet becomes frustrating.
O yeah, that pc doctor from the dell site did not find anything either.
It's a relatively new inspiron laptop (less than a year) and I have this problem since the beginning.
