I shutdown my laptop yesterday normally and today when i tried opening it it gives me a blank black screen, and then in a minute or so it makes 2 beep sounds and that's it...
things i've tried that didn't work :
1)disconnecting battery and pressing the power button for 60 seconds
2)placing a magnet on the spot where the switching lid should be
This Latitude E6410 is my 4th dell laptop, (3 desktops too) so I thought I was familiar with their behaviour. Nevertheless a new issue has arisen, when idle for some time the screen goes blank, similar to my other machines. Usually I press enter, they wake up and I carry on with my work.. The E6410's screen goes blank and will not display again. All the activity is revived as I can hear the sounds my spreadsheets and accounting and tax software make, except for the screen display. A reboot is necessary.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI purchased a refurbished Dell e6410 about a year ago. The Laptop was working find with no issues. But in mid August, I did a windows 7 update... After the update, windows restarted... But instead of booting up to windows... It went to "startup repair". It ran this several times until is said it could not repair the startup.
I ended up having to do a recovery and reload windows and re-image my HD... After doing that, I tried windows update again. Same issue. after windows update... It would just got to startup repair.
Again, I had to restore my OS and re-image my drive. I tested and checked the HD and go no errors. Ran disk check and disk check /r... But if I tried to run a windows update it would just go into startup repair and I would eventually have to just reload my os and re-image the drive.
I spoke to an agent from Dell about it... He suggested I wait a month before trying to do the windows update. Perhaps they have a bug.
So I waited two months and tried an update again, last night. This time, I would get the dell logo, with f12 option, that would go away and then "windows is loading necessary files", but then the screen would go black and dell screen came up gain, then "windows is loading necessary files". I let it do this for almost an hour. Windows never started... I had no option to get into safe mode or any other boot modes. I have a regular desk top pc that I have done windows update and it has no issues.
I am running windows 7 64bit.
create a new Bios Screen to ours Latitude E6410.I have used a bootable CD with a splash.exe file to load a Bios Screen with the company logo and it had worked in ours Latitude D600/610/620/630 and E6400.Now when I try to do the same with our E6410 I'm getting the message " This Bios does not support splash.exe. Upgrade your system Bios and try again."
View 2 Replies View RelatedMy Inspiron N7010 was working fine until 2 days ago. I had it playing a movie through the HDMI port to my TV & then the video started to freeze up. Starting the next day, when I tried to start it up, it beeps 8 times & goes to a black screen, then eventually it turns off. I opened it up & re-seated the CMOS battery & checked all the ribbons. Tried holding the "d" key while powering on, the screen cycles through the colors & then goes black & powers off. Tried connecting to 2 different external monitors, could not get a picture on either.

It was working properly, but suddenly it went off and when i restarted it, there was nothing which appeared on screen, but there was a beep sound which went on until i turned my laptop off. Even the startup screen didnt appeared during this. The power button lights up, fan is running, but the screen is not coming up.
I have noticed one thing also, if i put it on for long time, so that it gains enough heat due to constatnt running and then I restart it, the screen will come. and after sometime, the screen distorts and after few seconds, the laptop screen turns black and the beep sound appears which start crying until i turn laptop off.
Hp Pavillion 15 startsup with black screen, after 2 min login screen pop-up and disappears, laptop is 10 months Old, mot daily used

I've tried taking the battery out and hold the power button for 2 minutes. After that I tried holding D and the power button but there was to change. I tried an external monitor which did not work either. There are no beeps. It if I leave the laptop switched on for a few mins I hear the windows start up tune.

sometimes when i boot up my laptop i hear 5 beeps and the screen stays black. computer doesnt boot just keeps doing that. Usually boots after turning it off and on after that. Also when it does boot up after having the beeping sequence the clock on my computer is reset.
This is from a brand new m14x rs laptop (alienware) that i just bought.
I've had a problem with my LCD for a while now. For around six months the screen sometimes turns black unless it is at a particular degree to the keyboard. For example, at 90 degrees there is a good chance that the screen will flicker and will mostly be black. More than 90 usually works.
Couple days ago I turned my laptop off and before it shut down left the room. When I came back after 15 minutes I heard the beeping sound. I turned the laptop off immediately. After that, every time I turn on laptop, nothing happens apart from beeping. I tried 'D' and then turn on. Also f12. Nothing changes, screen stays black. I also removed battery and pressed on turn on in order to get rid of excess charge.
Here's the issue:
On boot up, screen is black
Then 3 beeps follow
Then, I opened it up and it became 7 beeps
I bought this laptop really cheap from a friend and it was working fine until one day it gave me the black screen + 7 beeps.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a problem turning on my dell n5010 laptop with win7/ubuntu dual boot , I was doing some blogging using ubuntu and I went to have lunch and left it on but when I got back I found my laptop dead with the black screen and not turning on again with only the power led always on then the hdd led for a few seconds but not hearing any beeps and not seeing anything on the screen.
I have followed some solutions posted before but none of them worked.
1 - I tried to remove battery , ac and press power button to drain static electricity then trying to boot with ac adapter only but it didn't work.
2 - I tried the LCD test and tried an external monitor but neither works.
3 - I tried removing the memory modules , cleaning and reinserting but no change.
3 - I tried Dell Diagnositic but the only difference was that I heard 7 repetitive beeps when on the mode but not seeing anything on the screen .
I have had this laptop for about two years and when I went to switch it on this morning I got the black screen and seven beeps which seems to be a recuuring fault with DEL laptops. What can I do?
View 2 Replies View RelatedMy Dell Inspiron M5030 has suddenly come up with the dreaded black screen and 7 beep problem. Having looked at many sites on the internet it seems that this is a common problem with this particular model. I am aware that there are several unofficial and seemingly temporary 'fixes' to this error (involving removing the motherboard and placing it in the oven), but I am loathe to proceed down that particular road.
My question is:- Why has Dell not contacted owners of this model of Inspiron to advise that there is a problem and offer a fix to what is plainly an issue of poor manufacture? Searches on various sites shows that there are literally thousands of complaints similar to mine. This is not an isolated incident, and the solution seems to be contacting Dell Customer Services and being obstinate in refusing to pay for repair.
As other customers have had out of warranty repairs carried out free of charge, is this option available to everyone with a faulty Inspiron M5030?

I have an acer aspire 5536 it cam with vista everything ran fine with vista.When I installed windows 7 everything ran fine as well a week ago I started having startup problems,at first it only would take like 5 minutes to start up every few startups no big now it goes to the windows loading screen then goes black requiring me to restart it and run startup repair every time to get it to turn on. Other than that it works perfectly how do I fix it?

I did the FN + Power test and it does its thing but then it beeps loudly 3 times while flashing caps lock, scroll lock & num lock together at the same time,,,,then it does a random tune and flashes more. I have attached a video to show it exactly.
My Inspiron 1525 when it starts up and I choose startup repair after a few seconds the screen will go black. If I start up windows normally, it will think and then shows a window that says " a problem has been detected and windows has been shut down to prevent damage to your computer".. Today i wanted to startup my laptop, but it seems to be stuck on a black screen (with my cursor appeared) after the HP loading screen. Sometimes at the startup it says "preparing automatic restore", but results after loading at the same black screen.I tried to solve this problem with the following things:
1. Hard reset (turn off everything, hold power button 30 seconds, turn on everything and startup etc.)
2. Replacing RAM. Someone at the forum said this worked, but it didn't.
3. Tried taking off all USB devices such as mouse, DC adapter etc. and started up but didn't work.
A month ago i tried doing a factory reset, but my laptop seemed to be stuck on the same black screen.
I know I have read several posts about this issue but Cntl+shift+Esc not solving issue. Notebook with black screen upon startup. I hear Windows 7 booting up but have a black screen. Was troubleshooting a monitor issue again when black screen happened.

My studio 1555 plays 6 beeps and shows a black screen wen i turn it on.
when it was working i was having a few problems with the video card as i kept getting a blue screen saying about it being faulty but i had ignored it and now the laptop wont work at all.
I have read on the internet and it sounds like the video card is built into the motherboard.
how do i find out which motherboard will fit in to replace and will it have the video card inside.
I have a screen problem on my Laptop, on start-up it shows a white screen with black lines (Picture below) only happens once every 5-10 start-ups. Only happens for 5-10 Secs & sorts itself out before it boots up.
Other time it happens is when I'm using the internet, the screen just sticks, but then when I move the screen, it stops.
