My Laptop turns off when its 30% Battery, 10% was set on critical battery level as default so I was excepting to reached that level before my laptos turns off, but I regularly do connect my ac adapter about 40% just now I forgot to connect it. before it turns off I notice it was 30%.
how to make my screen get better colours as it seems pale. i tried the program and it works quite well. i changed the setting in the non expert thing from 1.8 standard to 2.2 television and its got a lot better colours. if you use the expert setting,im sure you can get even better colours but i find it hard. try this and im sure it will help you, post any expert calibrations if you can with screen shots. il try to make one now. to get to it, apple logo > system pref > display > color > calibrate....

I was running the OEM Vista OS and tried calibrating, tapped the cross exactly in the middle and saved. But still random accuracy.
I installed Windows 7 and use the 8 point calibration tool (control panel) and noticed that the top right corner could not be hit unless I bring the pen a bit on the inside, same to the bottom left. FYI in Windows 7 the cross calibrating point are almost touching the corners while in Vista, it is more spaced out.
if your TX2x00 has the same behavior in corners. Is your pen 100% accurate after calibration ?
I had my LED(Toshiba) and motherboard (nvidia 8400) replaced on my xpsm1330. Now, when I watch videos if I'm not sitting directly in front of the screen the picture looks washed out.
If I move to the left of the right I can't make out the image. The replacement screen is a toshiba also.....
I just bought the HP ENVY 17-j180ca Notebook PC. I'm trying to calibrate my monitor for photograph editing. The software I'm using to calibrate the monitor with asked two questions I don't have the answers to...
1. Is the Gamut normal or wide?
2. Is the monitor backlit with Fluorescent CCFL, white LED or RGB LED?
I just received my MBP 13" yesterday. So far I love it. However, I noticed an issue. Last when I put my MBP to sleep, it had about 30% battery left. However, when I woke up this morning and opened my MBP, the battery went down to 13%.
When I put the laptop to sleep, I had a pdf file open along with itunes (paused). I have never used Mac OS, so maybe I not doing something correct. Also, I noticed when I open the lid (after I put the notebook to sleep) it just goes directly back to the desktop as opposed to on windows it prompts to the login screen when waking it up from sleep mode.
I am looking into getting one of the new macbook pro's. Though I must say the non removable battery does concern me a bit. In past laptops I have had, I without a doubt saw increased battery wear and tear when I left the batter in the laptop while the laptop itself was plugged in. I completly destroyed a battery on my Dell laptop by doing this for about a month when it was asking as a desktop. I took the laptop which used to get around 4 hrs of battery life and then after a month it got no more than 15 minutes.
So after that I always took the battery out, so now with the new macbook pro's you cannot take the batteries out, so wont the batteries wear down to nothing faster than if you took them out when not using them?
I've run into this issue twice already... once on 1 computer and another on this same one. It's the one where the battery is not recognized and there is an "X" where the battery icon is.
I've done all the Software Updates, Batter Update 1.3, and tried resetting the PRAM. So far none of these have worked. Now I'm out of ideas. Before after going thru those steps, the problem would be fixed... not so this time.
I know they extended the warranty and were replacing the batteries for free, but not sure this one would be covered under that.
so with only 86 cycles my battery's at 80% health according to iStat Pro and at about 4450 mAh according to System Profiler. What's going on? I don't put any undue stress on it and just until 20 minutes ago battery health was at 86% (although that seems low too, isn't it supposed to go 300 cycles before it goes anywhere near 80%)?
And the last time I calibrated it battery health went down.
Hey i had a questions about the new MBP 13in that claims a 10hr battery. Is this the same battery as the 7hrs one or is it a different one. If it is a new and improved battery would i be able to upgrade my "old" MBP13 for this new one?

View 9 Replies View RelatedI'm new to OS X, got my MacBook the other day, and I can hands down say it's my favorite OS I've dealt with. It's so much simpler and just plain awesome. Okay, I'll ask my question before I get carried away...
So, I did some searching on Google after I noticed that my battery likes to hang around 99%. Apparently this is common. My question is, is this a BAD thing? When I see 99% I'm picturing that the computer is constantly pushing power into the battery so it can reach 100%. I mean, isn't that how fires start?
Simply put, is my MacBook trying to charge the battery consistently when it is not at 100%?
I heard today from the teacher that mac can run like 7 hours on the battery? Really? Is it because of the OS or an extra-special battery?

View 6 Replies View RelatedI recently left my new MBP charging over night and when I opened it in the morning it only showed 3 hours of battery remaining? Even at the lowest brightness setting it didnt go up any. Now Im at 92% and in says 2:20 remaining at the lowest brightness. Yesterday it was showing 5 hours fully charged, is there something wrong with my battery?
View 3 Replies View Relatedevery time I'm running my uMBP from battery, I'm constantly checking the amount of time I have left and trying to figure ways to increase that time. Yes, CONSTANTLY. Whenever I can, I'm using the a/c adapter.
Even though I may see 6-7 hours left, I'm still not satisfied.
And just about every time I am running the battery, I'll open up Coconut Battery to make sure I still have a 100% charge hold left....even though my umbp is 7 weeks old with only 4 cycles...
Have Apple even thought about people maybe changing the battery on the new Apple Macbooks at all when it's worn out?
It must have been their dumbest move ever that you can't replace the battery and made it integrated
How much does Apple charge you when it's time to change the battery when it's old and not working anymore?
I followed the instructions in the guide to condition the battery where I charged it up for fully drained it and charged it again and left it plugged in for the 5 hours, how often should I do this
View 3 Replies View RelatedI'm not even coming close to this with my 2010 macbook pro 13 inch unless I turn my brightness down to 50%, on reboot it defaults to 100%. This is when doing nothing or just surfing the net. I can get about 7 hrs, with my laptop screen turned to 50%. Any tweaks available? I'd love to know how Apple came up with 10 hrs.

View 7 Replies View RelatedI use my macbook a lot lately without connecting it to a power outlet. I disconnect it from power supple in the morning and put it in my backpack, and after 3 hours I waked it up by opening the lid and I notice the battery is at 95%. The battery is pretty much out of power after about 4 hours of use with airport on for wireless connection, and at the lowest brightness. Is it possible there is a battery leak, or is this normal? The battery is at 99% health and 40 cycles. It was went down to 96% health before, and it came back to 99% after I calibrated the battery.

My mac was bought in Jan 2008, but i do not think it's in bad shape.
Has anyone else experienced this? Is Apple planning to address this?

For example, the frequency with which you retrieve email and the number of email accounts you auto-check can both affect battery life. The tips below apply to an iPhone running iPhone 2.0 or later software and may help extend your battery life.........

View 9 Replies View RelatedI have a Macbook Pro I bought in summer 2007, and I'm have concerns about its battery life, and so I was wondering if anyone could help me please.
I hardly ever use my laptop away from my desk, so it's plugged in all the time. While plugged in, I still keep the battery in the laptop. It's only been through 10 cycles in 2 years, and I know I should've calibrated it monthly, but I didn't and I really wish I had now. Right now, when unplugged, my battery only lasts about half an hour. I downloaded coconutBattery and apparently, my original battery capacity was 5600 mAh, and now it's only 543 mAh.
My question is, did I mess up the battery myself by not calibrating it, or was the battery defective in the first place? :S Or is it just old?
I'm a real n00b when it comes to computers....but if this ISN'T my fault, the laptop is under an Apple Care Protection Plan, and so would that cover the battery? Is there any way to fix it without getting a new battery?
I bought a new white macbook a few days ago. I just noticed now the batter meter says "not charging" and its only at 95%. Is there something wrong with my battery? should I drain it all the way and then recharge?
