Dell :: M4400 Best X64 Anti-virus
Sep 9, 2009I am about to take delivery of a new M4400 with all the bells and whistles, running vista ultimate 64, and plan to upgrade to Win 7 in the near future.
My faithful Latitude D600 circa 2003 has been running on AVG free edition and without significant issues, and also I am using Zone alarm as the firewall.
I am not certain you can get these in 64 bit, or even if they are the better solutions these days, so looking for alternatives.
HP Pavilion 15-n228us OS/Software :: How To Uninstall A Program With Virus
Jul 24, 2014I purchased a Pavilion 15-n228us Notebook with Windows 8.1 in April. Several weeks ago, I searched for Microsoft Photo Editor, which I thought included in Start Menu, somehow, I was guided to some site for a free download. To make a long story short, I accidentally downloaded some unwelcome adwares - not mention I still don't have the photo Editor. Anyway, I removed most these programs through Control Panel - Uninstall Program except the last one. This one is called "blasteroids", every time when I tried to uninstall it, it gave me a message of "SEIS (or EISS??) launching failure" and Norton 360 popped up saying an installer with .exe file containing Trojan virus was blocked. So now I am not able to remove this "blasteroids" and it pops up ads every time when I visit a website.

My question is: how do I remove this virus attached program?

Apr 14, 2010I am ordering a mbp and have yet to experience the glossy vs. antiglare in person. The only thing I have to compare is last years Sony Z. It has a lovely screen which doesn't have much of a gloss to it, so I can only assume it is what you would consider an antiglare or matte screen (I believe the quality may be better, but that isnt my concern at this point). What I'm wondering is if the matte appearance of the two is comparable or of the mpb screen is totally different...

It may have only been on the shelves in the US for a few weeks but the Apple iPad has already been hit with a virus.
BitDefender has reported that it has found malware links are being sent to iPad users which disguise themselves as an iTunes update.
The malicious link comes in an email, explaining that if you update your iTunes you will be given "…best performance, newer features and security".
Once clicked, any sensitive data stored on the users' iPad may be used for exploitation.
Backdoor man
BitDefender said about the virus in a release: "Identified by BitDefender as Backdoor.Bifrose.AADY, the piece of malicious code inadvertently downloaded injects itself into the explorer.exe process and opens up a backdoor that allows unauthorised access to and control over the affected system.
"Moreover, Backdoor.Bifrose.AADY attempts to read the keys and serial numbers of the various softwareinstalled on the affected computer, while also logging the passwords to the victim's ICQ, Messenger, POP3 mail accounts, and protected storage."
The dodgy link is primed for the iPad as it seems that Mac users are unaffected by the link.
The Apple iPad has a delayed UK release date of 'May' – hopefully without a virus.

Apr 25, 2010Just got my new Macbook Pro 13 a few days ago, so far I love it but not used to the MAC OS so I have a few questions.
1. Is there a way to see the actual signal strength/transmission information for the Wifi connection other then the 4 little eclipses? Doesn't seem like I'm getting a full wireless-n signal but somewhere around wireless-g.
2. When I install a program or at least it has happened with AppCleaner and Firefox, it put an icon on the desktop, sort of like when I have a DVD in with the Eject, Get Info ... etc options, I managed to remove them by choosing the Eject option. Is this normal?
3. Do I really need a virus scanner, I've seen a 50/50 split on yes and no.
4. Any sort of optimizations I should do?

Mar 21, 2010I had a chance to stop by at apple store today, and compared the anti glare screens on both 15 inch and 17 inch models. To my surprise, the 15 inch one was much brighter than 17 inch one. I made sure that both had max brightness settings, and it was clear that 15 inch one was superior. maybe this 17 inch display model was defect? anyone has opposite experience? (btw, I hate seeing myself and losing focus because of reflective glassy screens)

Feb 4, 2009my 4 month old MBP keeps kicking out errors saying that my startup disk is almost full even though I have something like 40GB free. Windows partition works perfectly fine in boot camp. I've run Disk Utility's verify disk and permissions options with no errors and I was able to repair disk permissions just fine. The bootup hardware diagnostic tool with the OS X disk runs fine too. Onyx runs its cleanup functions fine, but I still get the error every now and again.
Obviously I have performed a backup and will likely make a trip to the Apple Store but has anyone encountered something like this? All signs point to software issues, but I'm still a little worried.
