Dell 17R 5721:: Missing Waves Maxx Audio 4 And F11 And F12 To Increase / Decrease Volume?
Apr 24, 2013
I have a Dell 17R 5721 Windows 8. I updated the Dell Quickset app, Digital Delivery app and the Realtek Audio Hi Def driver. Now I see that my Waves Maxx Audio 4 function is missing and F11 and F12 aren't working to increase/decrease volume. I've found several related posts, but for different computers, so they don't work for me. how to restore things back to the original factory condition?
my hp proobook 450 G1 Brightness increase by (fn+f10) & decrease by (fn+f9) suddenly stopped working from yesterday. But i can change sound to use thekey [fn+f6] and [fn+f7]also i have a problem on my left button(controler left button) . My up,down, right button is working properly but left button is working as backspace Now what can i do?
I downgraded from win 8 to win 7 with a clean install and although I have the sound workling I cant find the correct driver in other forum posts to get beats audio installed. Link to the correct download :
Also I would like to get the on screen volume indicator back.
I recent did Microsoft and Lenovo updates and I have lost the On-Screen Volumn display. Not the Volumn icon in the task bar, I lost the display that shows the volumn going up or down on the screen. The video support suggested installing Power Management but this did not work. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling the audio drivers, also did not work.
How can I increase volume without the UP arrow key? Normally do Fn-Up. Volume is only issue (can page up then down to scroll). Control panel options look like they increase volume, but they don't. Windows troubleshooting deals only with the sound card, which is fine. (Old laptop, so I don't want to replace the key).
Ok after 3 days of using the 1340 I just realized the button on the top panel that you can use to increase/decrease volume stopped working. I had updated the latest drivers from Dell site but not sure if that is the reason.
Also non of the other buttons that are for DVD work either. And I know they were working when I got the laptop and only thing I have done is update with latest drivers.
I have a HP ENVY TS 15-j004sa Notebook PC running windows 8.1with Beats Audio Under normal circumstances, listening to music or films close up with no other sounds around, the volume is not a problem. But, if i need to raise the volume either because i am further away or because there is some other distracting sound, I find myself very limited in how much i can raise the sound - and i am not talking about trying to get an ear splitting volume.
This is true even if i have everything at max: the Windows 8.1 Settings volume, the volume control on the task bar of the desktop and the volume control on the application. Is there anything i can do to give more flexibility to the volume?
the volume button, next to the volume slider on my laptop stopped working. After checking postings that I found, was able to resolve the volume on/off issue, by shutting down the PC,unplug and take the battery out and put it back in. I still cannot get the volume slider to work! I can go into the sound mixer and control the volume, but it would be nice to make it work again. I had this problem with the original OS (Vista) and have upgraded to 7 Ultimate and it still continues.
I have a HP Pavilion g6-2210sa, product number is C6S45EA#ABU Volume occasionally works fine, but mostly does not. It sometimes works when I turn laptop on and then after a few minutes it doesn't work. If I restart, it sometimes starts working again but mostly does not. I have followed HP instructions for audio problems on this website however I cannot seem to fix this.
Product Name: HP Pavilion DV7-1261wm Product Number: NM295UA#ABA OS: Windows 7 Ultimate (64-bit)
My computer gets all current HP/Microsoft updates automatically. My volume control moves up and down automatically. I can choose mute and it will not stay muted. I have turned off my built-in microphone. I had to unistall my HP SmartMenu controls because the buttons wouldn't respond and the on-screen volume display would activate every time the windows volume control would move causing me not to be able to play any games. I have ran MSE and MalwareBytes and have not found any viruses or ad/spyware that is causing the trouble. I don't' know what to do..I really don't want to have to go through the process of windows re-install or game re-installing.
I have tried every setting available on this laptop, from all set to default to trying multiple changes in all the settings. The volume is consistently low and has a very annoying reverb and echo effect, even with those settings turned off. I have only had it for a week, and I have been very pleased with everything else accept the audio. The reason for purchasing this model was for multi-media processing and so far I and becoming more disgusted daily with it. It is a Pavilion dv6 and it has the beat audio software.
Even cranked all the way up, the sound on the x220 seems somewhere around half as loud as the x120e and even my wife's iPad blows it away. It's a litle embarrassing.
I think it's the sound card/driver not the speakers as even with headphones plugged in it is very very soft at 100% volume.
You can hear this effect around 60%-80%+ volume(varies by system) usually from the right speaker(more noticeable). It sounds like a speaker when its damaged from high volume or a bad amp you hear a buzzing/cracking/distortion sound on the right speaker usually(you can also verify it with the dell audio diagnostic, test my Dell technician even realized it). Ive had 3 xps's replaced(due to other issues) all of them had the same problem (additionally I had 2 speaker replacements and they had the same problem). sxps 1640 and 1645. I remember when a technician came and opened my motherboard I took a look at the side speakers. It seems that the right speakers are loose compared to the left ones. You can press on it and it goes a bit in and out.
I just wanted to start a new thread for Bill to bring this issue also to the attention of the engineers. I think I know what the problem is, I will be putting rubber pads in my laptop to enforce the speakers from vibrating. Someone brought this solution to my attention a long time ago.

Does anyone else have this problem? Verify so Bill can bring it to the attention of the engineers. Bills going to have big meeting with big players soon so post up if you do have this issue so he can bring it to the table. I didn't want to use the throttling thread for this issue.
My temporary solution is not to go about 60% volume... since it's load already but it would be nice to blast the volume and listen to music while doing other chores in the house or hang with friends but the audio quality is terrible.
Note: I can not verify this for sxps 1647 because I do not have one.
I will give you guys an update on my results, when I dampen the system with pads and reinforce it.
I have an hp g71-449wm the hard drive quit i replaced the hard drive fresh instal of windows 7 home premium loaded all the drivers from hp for this computer everything is perfect but no sound tried reinstalling drivers for audio still no sound the lines in the volume control move with the sound but no sound.
I have a HP ENVY 15 Notebook PC (LW897AV), running Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit Service Pack 1. It is only a little over a year old as I got it in June 2012, so is still under warranty. Obviously I'd rather not send it back in if I don't have to.
This problem started after updating my audio driver on my HP Pavilion dv6 7039tx laptop. I noticed that the volume has been muted and a message reads out no speakers or headphones have been connected. After using the windows troubleshooter the troubleshooter detects that "the hardware changes might not have been detected".
I have now already rollbacked the driver uninstalled it and reinstalled it multiple times rebooted my PC too but nothing seems to work. In the device manager it detects my IDT high definition codec devices. I strongly feel there is something wrong in the registry since this is not a hardware problem. Even in the HP Support troubleshooter it does not detect my audio devices. I dont know what to do I really dont want to restore my PC .....
On hp pavilion dv7-1232nr the sound volume signal that appears on the screen any time the volume is adjusted is not functioning as before ! is there any point or option that is being clicked on or off to disable this signal !
I recently purchased a Inspiron 5721. The fan comes on about a minute after it boots and never shuts off. Very irritating. I updated the BIOS to A05 but it didn't make any difference.
I bought my Inspiron 17R in autumn 2013 with I7&1TB and after a week the fan got louder. For a certain period I though it was normal that the fan gets loud while playing games but it started to make noise even when I was watching a video or surfing on the net... I get used to it but now it makes noise from the moment I turn it on. I can´t even watch a movie without headphones because of the loud fan.Is there any way to make it stop or decrease the noise?
I put the sims 3 in the computer, it loads to the main screen and the shuts down. It doesn't give any warning and does not restart. It also doesn't give a reason or notice as to why it shut down. The computer is not over-heating and I only have 1 expansion pack. Extra info: It is an 8GB RAM, intel core i5, is a 64-bit operating system, and Windows 8.
I have a new 5721 running ubuntu 12.04 and the fan runs full speed constantly from seconds after loging in. I am using s fraction of the CPUs' power and still the fan runs full belt and is pretty noisy. I have read that Dell computers are certified to run ubuntu, but this seems to be a problem with no solution after hours of searching the web for an answer.
