How can I increase volume without the UP arrow key? Normally do Fn-Up. Volume is only issue (can page up then down to scroll). Control panel options look like they increase volume, but they don't. Windows troubleshooting deals only with the sound card, which is fine. (Old laptop, so I don't want to replace the key).
Today when I turned on my Acer Aspire 3820t the screen was much darker than usual. Everything looks fine and is visible, but just looks like I set the brightness to the lowest setting. I tried changing the brightness but it looks the same no matter what I set it to.
I use an external display in addition to the built in laptop monitor and the external display is working fine.
I have a ENVY Dv6 laptop. Recently I am no longer able to reach the down arrow on my side scroll bar. It is hidden behind the tool bar on the bottom of the screen. I was able to move the tool bar and see that it is still there but I'd like to keep my toolbar at the base of the screen. Not sure if this is related, but I also used to be able to enlarge and shrink the page size with two fingers on the touchpad but this is no longer working. I am using the web via Internet Explorer.
I bought Acer Aspire V3-772G about a week ago. It was without an OS which I installed myself. First I installed win 7. When I was trying out new PES 2014, I had a problem with movement with arrow keys.
I mean no diagonally moving or anything. Only up, down, left, right. Laptop doesn't recognize multy pressed arrow keys. At first I thought it was an windows issue cause all drivers in Acer support page are for win 8. Installed win 8 and still same problem.
I recent did Microsoft and Lenovo updates and I have lost the On-Screen Volumn display. Not the Volumn icon in the task bar, I lost the display that shows the volumn going up or down on the screen. The video support suggested installing Power Management but this did not work. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling the audio drivers, also did not work.
has anybody else had a crackling sound when playing sound example music/games. i always get it in my right speaker and how can i fix this i believe this is a software/hardware issue as whenever the sound goes off the crackling deaseses.
I have a Dell 17R 5721 Windows 8. I updated the Dell Quickset app, Digital Delivery app and the Realtek Audio Hi Def driver. Now I see that my Waves Maxx Audio 4 function is missing and F11 and F12 aren't working to increase/decrease volume. I've found several related posts, but for different computers, so they don't work for me. how to restore things back to the original factory condition?
I've got an Aspire 7730 which is about a month old. Everything is working fine except the subwoofer seems to be very weak. You need to put your ear up against it to hear anything at all so it's more or less useless as is. My brother's 5920 has a very good subwoofer and the sound output is excellent from it.
Would anyone know if this is normal for the 7730 or do I have a faulty subwoofer?
I just got my Aspire 6930G yesterday and noticed something which may be a problem. Above the keyboard there is a row of blue lights and buttons for multimedia controls like volume, play, etc. The buttons light up and work fine. My question is on the volume section.
It looks like this:
- | | | | | | | | +
The minus button turns down the volume and the plus button raises the volume. The vertical bars in the middle look like they are supposed to light up to indicate the volume level, but they do not light up. Does anyone know if they are just for decoration or if they are actually supposed to work? If they are supposed to light up, is it possible this is controlled by a setting someplace? I looked in the likely places (Keyboard, Sounds, etc.) but didn't find anything.
Everything else with the volume works fine: the controls make it louder and softer, I see the on-screen display of the volume when I press the +/- buttons, etc.
I was wondering if anybody would be able to help me with a little volume problem i'm having.
I recently installed Windows 7 RTM. Everything was working fine including the volume control. Then one day i booted the laptop and was unable to control the volume using the volume dial on the front of the laptop.
Some information: >The volume dial hardware is working fine because when i boot into Vista there are still no problems >When i turn the dial, the volume does not change either up or down
what drivers control the volume dial or as to what software may be required to make it work again?
I have an Aspire 5733Z laptop. I just recently lost the capability to adjust the volume using the keyboard shortcut of Fn key with up or down arrow keys. I have uninstalled and installed the Realtek HD driver.
The max volume from software is very quiet. I am using Microsoft Autoroute for navigation and the turn by turn is so quiet that I have to plug in an external speaker. In the Text to Talk settings the default voice - Anna - is loud enough reading the sample text, but from the software is v quiet. Windows sounds are also quiet.System is Win 7 Starter and I have installed the latest Realtek audio drivers from the Acer website.
I have a brand new Acer Aspire V3-572G. Its been a bit of a lemon so far, but I will give it the benefit of the doubt for just a while longer as I'm not particularly tech-savvy so perhaps the problem is me. Yesterday the volume icon (on the bar at the bottom of the screen) stopped working altogether. I can press it with the curser and it changes colour in the way it should when you click on something ... BUT nothing comes up ... no sound/volume control thing that I can adjust. I know I can use the Function key and arrows, but that is just fiddly, and for a brand new computer, I expect things to work.
i have just recently installed windows 7 on my acer aspire 4530 and after installation all are working great except for one, my volume wheel control is no longer working, before i installed windows 7 it was working just fine, don't know if im missing a driver or i forgot to set anything
For some reason when connecting to my UE Boom speakers, the sound volume is about 70% as loud as when playing from any of my other devices, such as my HTC One or my wifes Ipad. I have checked all the settings, volume is maxed out at 100%. I have reinstalled the latest drivers for both the bluetooth and the audio device:
I did find a setting under manage audio devices >> sound >> communication tab, that lowers the sound by 80%. But I disabled this feature and it only seems to be linked to the internal speakers.
It also seems like I have issues at times trying to connect to my bluetooth speakers, but not always.
Just got my vpccw26fw from best buy, love everything on it except the sound volume. The 100% sound volume on the CW is not even louder than the 50% on my Z.
Is this a driver issue or the hardware is built like that?
Is there any software to increase the sound volume?
I have an Aspire 5733Z laptop and I love it dearly. I just recently lost the capability to adjust the volume using the keyboard shortcut of Fn key with up or down arrow keys. I have uninstalled and installed the Realtek HD driver.
I have an aspire5734z laptop and can no longer control the volume with the Fn up arrow/down arrow buttons. Have no display of vol, wireless or cap lock any more. I've been through everything I can think of in control panel and can't find an answer.
I'm not sure what happened as the babysitter was on my computer while I was gone...when I went to turn on my Acer, this is the message I got...
NTLDR is missing Press Ctrl+Alt+Del to restart I did that and once again got the same message. I tried using the eRecovery (alt+f10) and gave me the options to restore using disk or to factory settings. I chose the factory settings as this computer did not come with any discs. It went 53% through the restore program and then it stopped leaving me the message... Restore failed! Reason:0x0000006
I usually turn my volume really low or even mute it before shutting down my mbp, and when I turn on my mbp, the startup chime will be as loud as that volume level.
Yesterday, I used onyx to clean up some of the preferences, etc. Now, it doesn't matter if I mute the volume before shutting down, the start-up chime will always be there at the same level.
I rather not download the startup sound preference program if i really dont have to.
I have an hp g71-449wm the hard drive quit i replaced the hard drive fresh instal of windows 7 home premium loaded all the drivers from hp for this computer everything is perfect but no sound tried reinstalling drivers for audio still no sound the lines in the volume control move with the sound but no sound.
Ok after 3 days of using the 1340 I just realized the button on the top panel that you can use to increase/decrease volume stopped working. I had updated the latest drivers from Dell site but not sure if that is the reason.
Also non of the other buttons that are for DVD work either. And I know they were working when I got the laptop and only thing I have done is update with latest drivers.
I have upgraded to Windows XP and reinstalled all the drivers I need from the Acer website. Wireless networking is fine.
The problem is, when I slide the Bluetooth switch on the front of my computer while a device (Nintendo Wiimote) is waiting to connect to the computer, "No Device" in green text shows up on the bottom of my screen. I think this shows the driver is somewhat working and the hardware is detected. The LED indicator beside the switch does not light up.
I go to my control panel and double click the "Bluetooth Configuration" icon, nothing happens for a while, then a single dialog shows up saying "Bluetooth device not found. Please verify that your Bluetooth device is properly connected and turned on." showing only an OK button.
Inside the computer management window, under device manager, a group called "Bluetooth Devices" exists, and inside is something named "Bluetooth Bus Enumerator". I have right clicked on both and tried "Scan for Hardware Changes" and nothing happened. The properties show that "This device is working properly"
Drivers Provider is Broadcom 1/11/2006 Version 5.0.1.1500
Yes I have restarted my computer several times. All of the above actions were performed four, once with my finger holding the switch and once without, then again with the Wiimote in a waiting-for-connector mode.
My Wii is turned off with the power supply unplugged, there are no other devices with Bluetooth in my house.
how to get Bluetooth working.
There are other problems with this laptop, the card reader only supports SD cards, not Memory Sticks or xD cards. That's a problem for another day. However I would never recommend this laptop and this brand to anyone, but it was pretty cheap.
