I have upgraded to Windows XP and reinstalled all the drivers I need from the Acer website. Wireless networking is fine.
The problem is, when I slide the Bluetooth switch on the front of my computer while a device (Nintendo Wiimote) is waiting to connect to the computer, "No Device" in green text shows up on the bottom of my screen. I think this shows the driver is somewhat working and the hardware is detected.
The LED indicator beside the switch does not light up.
I go to my control panel and double click the "Bluetooth Configuration" icon, nothing happens for a while, then a single dialog shows up saying "Bluetooth device not found. Please verify that your Bluetooth device is properly connected and turned on." showing only an OK button.
Inside the computer management window, under device manager, a group called "Bluetooth Devices" exists, and inside is something named "Bluetooth Bus Enumerator". I have right clicked on both and tried "Scan for Hardware Changes" and nothing happened. The properties show that "This device is working properly"
Drivers Provider is Broadcom

Yes I have restarted my computer several times.
All of the above actions were performed four, once with my finger holding the switch and once without, then again with the Wiimote in a waiting-for-connector mode.
My Wii is turned off with the power supply unplugged, there are no other devices with Bluetooth in my house.
how to get Bluetooth working.
There are other problems with this laptop, the card reader only supports SD cards, not Memory Sticks or xD cards. That's a problem for another day. However I would never recommend this laptop and this brand to anyone, but it was pretty cheap.
I am using HP DV3 4305SE, after formatting my PC ibletooth headset unable to connect. Its showing "  bluetooth peripheral device driver missing  " message..
I cant find my bluetooth device in my (acer aspire s3 ultrabook i5 2467m 13.3) before i am using window7 it works properly but now im switch to windows8.1 and i cant find my bluetooth device even in device manager. i also used scan driver but nothing happend..
I recently brought a Aspire E5-411, in Thailand, with a Linpus Linux OS. I installed my prefered OS Win7 x64. I managed to locate and install the hardware drivers. The strange thing is there is no bluetooth device showing in device manager. Is it because
(a) there is no b/tooth adapter on this model, (b) the adapter is faulty, (c) I need to install a driver to activate, or (d) other?
I just bought a new Acer E5 571 with Windows 8.1 The laptop paired to my bluetooth speaker quickly and with no problem. Â However the next time I turned on my laptop it showed as bluetooth device paired when it wasn't. iTunes only played through the laptop speaker and I have to disconnect and re-pair the bluetooth and deactivate the laptop speaker to get iTunes to play through bluetooth every time. Â Is this a recognised fault or some incompatibility between my laptop and LG bluetooth soundbar?
My Acer Aspire 5570 notebook suddenly shuts down, (Fully charged battery.) I was charging that time. But it suddenly shuts down, the light indicator for charging was no longer lighting. I try to power it on, but its doesn't , there light which indicates that I was charging was no longer lighting. The charger is okay.
I have an Acer Aspire 5570z Notebook with built in, DVD/CD Burner Optiarc DVD RW AD-7530A ATA Device Type: DVD/CD ROM Drives
My Cd/Dvd combo was working properly the other day, But now it doesn't read c.d's , only thing works in it now is DVD's.
The last thing i done before it went weird was burn a c.d on NTI Cd/Dvd Maker, and an error came up and said could not complete or something. When i open up my WMP to rip some songs, i notice it wasn't working. Everytime i put a c.d in, it make sounds of it spining, but not reading comes up. it says Please Enter A Disc. I tried almost everything, i cleaned the laser, i tried removing "upper and lower fliters" from the regedit thing, which wasn't there because i removed that once before when i had this problem.
I've bought my Acer Aspire 5570 with T2450 Core Duo 2.0 CPU and Intel GMA950 Video 1.5 years ago and back then I wasn't into fiddling around with it, plus I also had warranty on it and didn't feel like voiding that.
But lately it has been pissing me off, because if I actually use it for anything other than browsing text-based web pages it gets hot. And if put under max load after 10minutes you run the risk of burning your hand if you touch the laptop underneath (75C according to RMClock Utility).
But now, since warranty is long over i decided to see what I can do to improve cooling. After spending a good amount of time looking for service manual I found one on ed2k network and set it download. Eager to get the things rolling I took it apart blindly (wasn't hard at all) and of course, right when I was done with the last screw the service manual finished downloading... *sigh* (To save you from the same fate I've uploaded the service manual at the end of this post.)
I have cleaned the heatsinks (there wasn't much hair, since i used to blow it out with compressed air occasionally), reapplied thermal paste and then I noticed that about 3/4 of air vent on the bottom of the laptop (where air gets sucked in for cooling) was blocked by a piece of removable plastic, whereas the fan was big enough to use the whole vent......................
I have a Acer E1 522-3657 computer, which my son set-up for me but did not make the recovery disc(s). The unit is just outside of the warranty period when the hard drive failed. The hard drive just makes a clicking noise and after the logo screen appears it goes to a blue screen with a box that has the following message with in, "Default Boot Device Missing or Boot Failed. Insert recovery Media and Hit any key.....Then Select 'Boot Manager' to choose a new Boot Device or to Boot Recovery Media. Â I have installed a brand-new Western Digital 1T Sata3 harddrive to replace the Toshia 750 GB original Drive. After turning the computer on and at the logo screen I press and hold F2, this takes me to the InsydeH20 Setup Utility Screen. I see under the "Information" menu that the installed harddrive model and serial number appear. I see in the "Boot" menu, Boot Mode: "UEFI" and Secure Boot: "Enabled". Â Under the "Exit" menu, Exit Saving Changes is highlighted. When I press F10 a "setup Configuration" box appears asking to save configuration changes and exit now? "Yes" is highlighted to which I hit Enter and are returned to the "Default Boot Device.......page. I then hit ecs twice and are at a black screen with the message No bootable device -- Please Restart system_appearing in the upper left corner of the screen. I then push and hold the power button until the computer shuts off. Â I have ordered from acer the "Acer E-recovery Media Disc Set", which is specific to the SNID of my computer. I have not attempted to format the new hard drive in any way. Â I assume the E-recovery Media Disc Set will handle that operation due to the multiple partitions required. Â In view of the above situation, do I need to set up the computer in any way before I start to utilize the E-recovery Media Disc set. I assume the Media will be on CD's. The computer was running Win 8.0 which was updated to Win 8.1 and was running very well, very stable.
Acer V5, spilled coffee on keyboard. no problem at first, then lockup, and on restart get the No Boot Device or Boot Failed. Am using my old laptop now. Can I get a download, save it to thumb drive, and use it to restart/reboot my Acer?
I have an Acer as5570-2609 aspire laptop that will not boot up. It is like new, hardly been used. When I power it up, the fan comes on for about 3 or 4 seconds, and the hdd light flashes three times in a row, then waits a second or two, the flashes three times again, then goes black. The dvd drive ejects and will spin up a disc, but thats it. I tried swapping in a known good hard drive and nothing helps. I also tried re-seating a few of the easily accessible modules, such as the ram and wireless. I still have not seen a single flicker of the LCD screen. No beeps, nothing...
I have an HP Pavilion dv5-1183cl that has been upgraded from Windows Vista to Windows 7 Ultimate (32bit)Â and I have some issues.I have four errors showing up in my device manager, three Base System Device and one Unknown Device, and I don't know what they are or where to get the drivers (since I don't know what they are). Additionally, the battery will not charge (there does not appear to be anything wrong with it physically). I am wondering if the below errors are related to the battery issue. Below are the hardware IDs for each error entry. upgrading my Aspire 5570 notebook more than a year ago. This time, I’m feeling lucky to share some of my experiences about how I finally upgraded my CPU from a Core Solo T1350Core 2 Duo T7200.
Again, thanks to everybody here in Notebookreview forum especially adinu, hoggie, Mack1982, TehSuigi, krazyphire and bigozone for their insights and knowledge that helps me a lot throughout the whole process. So, let’s get started!
Pre-upgrading
Please refer to these post before you start. It'll save you a lot of time and trouble later on. Upgraded Acer 3680 Celeron CPU to a T5300! Aspire 5315 CPU Step-by-Step Upgrade Guide
What you’ll need :Your new CPU (make sure it's compatible with your system ie; socket, FSB)Latest BIOS from Acer (upgraded to 1.3505 or latest)A good thermal paste (I would recommend Tuniq TX-2 or Arctic Silver 5 as well)Basic tools (screwdrivers, forceps, kitchen paper)Body static discharger (I would definitely recommend this as a precaution)Some alcohol, ear buds, sand paper grid 600,1200 & 2000 (optional for heat sink lapping)Lastly TIME and PATIENCE (you’ll be needing these a lot definitely!)When you’re ready, lets get our hands dirty.
How to disassemble your notebook? I found out a very good video tutorial on how to disassemble my Aspire notebook on YouTube. So please take your time to view it and follow step by step as shown to help you to go through the process.
Lapping your heat sink (optional) Although it’s not necessary, but I would recommend this process as another way to improve heat dissipation on your newly installed CPU. Refer to this page for detailed instructions.
The simple process:Clean your heat sink from old thermal paste residues with alcohol or equivalent of it using ear buds and kitchen papers.Apply a 600-grid sandpaper to smoothen the heat sink surface which comes into contact with your CPU.Repeat the process again with a 1200-gid sand paper until you’re satisfied. Finally, finish up by applying a 2000-grid sand paper to give you an almost mirror-finished surface. Wipe clean any dirt and residues left.....................................
I just got a Logitech Bluetooth mouse and for the first time my Bluetooth is apparently messed up.
Previously, I have been using it weekly to sync my phone with Outlook via Bluetooth...so this is a brand new situation.
I have an Acer Ferrari 4006WLMi running Windows Vista Ultimate 32bit.
My Broadcom Bluetooth chip shows up as Unknown Device under Universal Serial Bus controllers. Turning it on and off(using the button on the front of the laptop) got it to show up once properly as a Broadcom chip under Network adapters. However, I can't get it to show up properly again.
I've tried uninstalling it and letting Windows find it again but that doesn't help. I downloaded the latest bluetooth drivers from Acer's site however it won't install w/o a Bluetooth device being installed.
I checked with Acer and Crucial.com to determine that I could upgrade from 1GB to 4 GB , removing the two existing 512 MGs and installing two 2 GBs in their place. When both 2 GBs were installed the computer would not boot. After checking with Crucial tech I tried with just one of the 2 GBs and then the other. Each worked fine individually.
I then downloaded the Vista Flash BIOS 1.32230 and after some help from the Acer tech people was able to install it. It did not change anything. Finally Installed one of the old 512 MGs with one of the new 2 GBs and that worked. Am now running on 2.5 Gigs which is an incredible improvement especially with the Vista OS. If anyone has been able to update to the full 4 GBs please let me know what I've missed. Incidentently, the 2 GB RAM can be ordered online from crucial.com for about $21 and installation is a snap ( about 5-10 minutes ).
I have acer 5570-4011 laptop with vista home (and ubuntu on a separate partition). I rebooted from cd, using winxp pe, deleted all files on vista partition, except those in the root, and started to install win xp pro. After installation files were copied to the hard drive, I restarted without cd and when setup continued, it gave me "file ntkrnlmp.exe could not be loaded. Error code is 7".
On MS support site they say about ACPI or memory problems and suggest to press F7 during that step to skip ACPI check, but it doesnt help in my case.
I'm not sure what happened as the babysitter was on my computer while I was gone...when I went to turn on my Acer, this is the message I got...
NTLDR is missing Press Ctrl+Alt+Del to restart I did that and once again got the same message. I tried using the eRecovery (alt+f10) and gave me the options to restore using disk or to factory settings. I chose the factory settings as this computer did not come with any discs. It went 53% through the restore program and then it stopped leaving me the message... Restore failed! Reason:0x0000006
This is my 3rd day since i bought this new HP probook 4540s [Product No. B9A39PA#UUF] and i like it, i made a clean install for windows 7 ultimate x64 and i've just realised that the hp drivers support page dose not has any drivers for the ultimate version, so i downloaded the proffesional drivers, now i have all devices are installed except  two devices named unknown device  The hardware Ids:  1- unknown device  USBVID_138A&PID_003D&REV_0104USBVID_138A&PID_003D  2- unknown device  ACPIHPQ6000*HPQ6000
I just got a new Z410 last week and yesterday the touchpad no longer shows up in device manager but has been replaced with an unknown device. Reinstalling the driver or restarting has had no effect.
so i just ordered a studio xps 16 over the phone and i guess the rep forgot to put in the bluetooth because when i asked her she said it was standard so i guess she didnt souble check but is there anything i can do about it now that i made the order?
I have an Acer Aspire 5536 which is running Windows 7. Recently, I have noticed that two of the On-Screen Symbols have gone missing.
Previously, when I pressed the Volume '+' or '-' buttons, a small Icon like symbol would appear on the screen showing a speaker graphic and a moving '|||||||' bar.
Also, if I pressed the button to disable the Touchpad, a symbol would appear momentarily showing that the pad had been disabled/enabled.
I currently have a  HP ProBook 4540s Notebook PC(Energy Star) laptop and found that my Base System Device Drivers  are missing. I have been trying very hard to find them but to no avail.
I have probook 4540s and i installed windows 7 prof. (X64) i have the following problems in the device manager: Â 1- base system device (Location: PCI Slot 2 (PCI bus 3, device 0, function 0)) 2- base system device (Location: PCI Slot 2 (PCI bus 3, device 0, function 3)) 3- unknown device (location: on PCI bus) Â Those are the three drivers ...
I am getting two error messages that read "Base system device" driver missing. Â The hardware Ids for the first is: Â PCIVEN_1180&DEV_E230&SUBSYS_1726103C&REV_01 PCIVEN_1180&DEV_E230&SUBSYS_1726103C PCIVEN_1180&DEV_E230&CC_088000 PCIVEN_1180&DEV_E230&CC_0880 Â And the other one is: Â PCIVEN_1180&DEV_E852&SUBSYS_1726103C&REV_01 PCIVEN_1180&DEV_E852&SUBSYS_1726103CPCIVEN_1180&DEV_E852&CC_088000PCIVEN_1180&DEV_E852&CC_0880
My Dell Inspiron E1505 laptop is missing two driver Base System Device is what they are called. I have downloaded every driver on the site for this laptop yet I still am missing these two. I re-installed Windows Vista  Home Premium and now I'm missing drivers that I can't find.
