My sound is horrific through my speakers, to the point where i think the speakers are shot, except i've barely used them.
If anyone knows of any software to fix this issue or anything else, please throw me a link or anything. I've been through the ringer with creative and they aren't comprehending and i don't have the time to be on the phone with them. They have no idea what they're doing.
The software cd goes to install and activates fine but it doesn't find hardware to give drivers to or "enhance". I have the dell provided 64-bit sound drivers in for the base sound card. Specs:
I was a little home cleaning and found my Creative Sound Blaster Audigy ADVANCED MB disk what I got with my XPS M1730 at that time. I lost interest in this software after upgrading from Vista x32 to Vista x64, because it didn't work on a 64bits system.
Currently I'm running Windows 7 x64. I want to try this software again, but of course I can't install it on this 64bits system either. I was hoping that meanwhile after this long time things would've changed and tried to find some update at Creative, without prevail.
Is there still no 64bits support for this software?
Has anyone been able to install the Audigy software that came with their m1730 after installing Vista64 bit version?
When I try to install, it says I have to install the audio drivers first! I did install them first! Aren't they the SigMatel drivers found on Dell website?
This and the touchpad are the only thing missing on my installation of Vista64 (was Vista 32 OEM).
I have a query about the titled soft/hardware. Firstly, which is it? Is it simply software, or is additional hardware required to run it?
Has anyone had a chance to compare the normal sound with this package, to see if there's much difference? I hear this allows EAX, which I would really like. I'm just not sure what exactly it is! :-)
When I bought my Dell 3 years ago I got the option to include the Creative SoundBlaster Audigy software. It is just software, not an actual sound card upgrade, but it definitely made audio quality much better. The computer has a Sigmatel audio device.
Does anyone know if there is a driver/software update for this that will make it work with Windows 7? I installed the software from Dell's drivers and downloads site which made it work with Vista, but no luck. Any help is appreciated.
I lost record of my audio Sound Blaster ® Audigy ™ HD for dell xps 1530 but luckily save the serial but I tried but I can not find the program to download please if someone has to go somewhere so I just want to please server program, not the serial GARCIAS
Not that I think it makes a big difference but how do you go about installing the sb audigy software that I bought with my XPS?
I have the disc that came with the laptop but when I go to install it says "no drivers found, please install drivers then run this setup program again"
Is there any modded bios available with some advanced "oc" features. I am trying to undervolt cpu from bios, shut down one core, slow down clock, change fan from silent to normal mode... etc... (This wouldn't be too much to ask from regular desktop board)
Until I boot and start windows my cpu is already too hot. (my notebook is ok, just cpu was upgraded and it's overheats a bit.)
Does this original bios has some secret menus to tweak those settings ?
As the Lenovo Ultrabay Slim II HDD Bay (for T400/T500...) fits into the Dell Modular Bay, maybe we can connect an "Advanced UltraBay II Li-Polymer-Battery" into the DELL notebooks.
2700mAh of additional power? About the same Voltage as the primery battery ....
I am trying to activate the infrared sensor, but there is no "advanced" tab in the BIOS.
Is there a trick to getting to this tab, or getting it to appear? I have tried pressing the "m" key instead of F2 when the POST screen is on, but nothing happens; it just goes on to boot the OS.
Thanks to a post by PDSway, I got the Intel Centrino Ultimate-N 6300 Advanced Wireless Card working fine with the Windows 7 64-bit 13.0 drivers on my XPS 1340.
Has anyone been able to successfully install the Intel Centrino Ultimate-N 6300 Advanced Wireless Card 13.1.1.1 drivers for Windows 7 64-bit?
I get an error code saying it couldn't find the digital signature for the driver
ok upgraded to win8 worjed for a long time but then i accidet changed path in advanced system setting. What is the C: right path please it wont let me login i login and then it says sighing out....
since I haven’t been able to find a thread listing all the latest drivers for the dv5t I've decided to make one myself. Let me be clear, this is for ADVANCED USERS ONLY.
For the average user you can find the latest drivers for your specific model at www.hp.com. This thread may contain drivers that are not specifically targetted at the HP dv5t but appear to work with it correctly. These drivers may not include vendor specific functionality that HP may have added (although I have not heard of any instances of this being so). Some of these drivers may work with other series of laptops but this is NOT guaranteed. I cannot guarantee these drivers will work correctly for everyone here so please be careful - only install these if you know how to revert any changes you have made. I am only including WHQL certified drivers, so regardless of what site they come from you know they are authentic. I've tested some of these drivers on my machine and they work perfectly well however I am unable to test everything. USE AT YOUR OWN RISK. Without further ado:
Intel Chipset Software Installation Utility: Version: 9.1.1.1020 OS Support: Windows Vista, Windows 7 Link: http://downloadcenter.intel.com/down...10884&lang=eng Notes: I recommend running the setup file from an elevated command prompt with the "-overall" flag (without quotes). This will assure that all devices are updated.....
Is it possible that I replace the Z11's stock Wifi with the Lenovo Intel Centrino Advanced-N + WiMAX 6250? I may use upcoming Sprint 4G data service that required a WiMax card. I can order the Intel Centrino Advanced-N + WiMAX 6250 from Lenovo.
I can't install Dolby Home Theater becouse error "pcee needs to be installed". Â I installed PCEE from web but still doesn't work. Â y50-70 windows 8.1 , drivers from lenovo website.
I have recently upgraded to windows 8.1 on my Acer Aspire and unfortunately since then, Dolby Advanced Audio V2 refuses to work. I have uninstalled my audio drivers, and re-installed with the latest versions, I have uninstalled DAAV2 and re-installed, and it still does not work. I'm not really sure where to go from here. It launches properly and you can turn it on and off, but ultimately, it does not show any difference between having it on anymore or off. As well as the fact that the little panel you open where it shows the bars while you play music, doesn't move at all. I use my Acer Aspire mainly for music and youtube videos and the like, so this is rather important to me.
The Troubleshoot icon that should be under the 'Advanced Startup' Option is missing. I don't know if it's because I upgraded from Windows 8 to Windows 8.1 but I used that previously when I need to go to safe mode. Suddenly it disappeared. I can only pick two options, "Continue to Windows 8.1" and "Turn off the PC".
Dolby Advanced Audio v2 issue ..... Â I added a second drive (SSD) successfully to the E540, everything works and is set up properly. I still have the original HDD in place and got Windows 8.1 (x64) installed on both drives. However, I cannot run Dolby Advanced Audio v2 when booting from the (fresh) Windows installation on the SSD. Right after booting or trying to start the application there is a Windows error message telling me that the Dolby-driver cannot be run and I should reinstall the application if the error continues to exist. Â When booting from the original HDD there is no problem with Dolby Advanced Audio v2, the application just works fine. Whenever booting from SSD the error message comes up. Â I know that this is a known issue and I've read all the information that is out there on the internet. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling from the DRIVERS folder on C: multiple times, installed everything in different orders and tried almost every combination of using the SETUP in AUDIO, the SETUP in DOLBY, the UIUa64 and so on. I can't install Dolby Advanced Audio v2 on the new SSD properly. The installation finishes and Dolby Advanced Audio v2 is shown in the list of installed programs, but immediately after finishing the installation the error message also occurs. Â (I exactly followed the reported solutions for other systems, but none of them worked for me. In which order I have to run the driver setup(s) for my E540 if you think this is a possible error source.) I really do not know what could cause the error message while the (seemingly) exact installation still works while booting from the original HDD?
(I am not referring to Dolby Digital Plus but Advanced Audio v2! The Dolby Digital Plus user interface is accessible on SSD. The sound quality varies tremendously between the two Windows installations on HDD and SSD and the loss of sound quality is unacceptable for me.)
How I can update the BIOS so I can be able to access advanced options such as memory config, enabling turbo boost, overlocking, changing the boot order (HDD, CDROM, USB, etc) Â Currently the BIOS is a very simple and doens't give me advanced options and information.
I have three user profiles in my Compaq Presario CQ-42, one is administrator and others are "Other User". When I fisrt saw the synaptics touch pad settings window through my first "Other User" profile 1, in Mouse Properties->Device Settings->Synaptics LuxPad V7.4->Settings, all the options in this window were available for selection and no one was diabled. Now when I go to "Administrator" Profile, Some of the options in this settings window are disabled and appear to be partly hidden. Like the option "Enable Pinch Zoom in Pinch Zoom section" and "Enable Pivot Rotate in Rotating" appears to be hidden/disabled.Â
For verifying this, I created the another "Other user" profile 2 but no success and I found the same problem here also. I also tried to unistall the synaptics driver several times from all the profiles but every time I re-installed them and checked to get the same result. The settings were only accessible for "Other User" Profile 1 each time and were disable for Administrator profile and "Other User" Profile 2. I can produce the snaps of same if required.
I'd been having problems with the microphone not picking up voice well after upgrading to Windows 8.1. I went to Lenovo's website and downloaded IDT audio driver version 6.10.6490.0 for Windows 8.1 64bit. I ran the exectuable that was downloaded and now the Microphone works much better however now Dolby Advanced Audio is unable to start.  I get the following warning message everytime I start the laptop:  "Unable to start the Dolby Audio driver.  Please restart the computer or reinstall the driver if the problem persists."  Restarting has not worked.  Running the driver executable again did not correct the issue.  I found this solution on the support forums but it is unclear about what to uninstall in "Device Manager"[URL]..."Open Device Manager Uninstall the Audio Device Under Audio inputs and outputs"I have a Microphone, Speakers, and Stereo Mix listed under Audio Inputs and Outputs.
I just updated the Realtek Audio Driver this morning when I saw the update available in the Update center. Â The driver went from v 6.0.1.6914 to v 6.0.1.7040. Â Now, the Dolby Advanced Audio v2 won't work. Â It forgot my previous EQ settings and when I make a new one, it doesn't change a thing in the sound. Â Is there a way to roll back to the previous version? Â This is really bad as I'm listening to lots of music on this laptop while I'm working and without the Dolby EQ, the sounds is not very good... Â I'm under Windows 8.1 64-bit.
#1 - What is the "Dell Extended Battery Life" option in the advanced power options? What does it do? The help article just says that extends the battery life.
#2 - With the facial recognition software, is there any way to take multiple "logon" images for the same user? Like sometimes I have the laptop on my lap
and sometimes it is on my desk and sometimes it is on the side so I can use with my external monitor and it seems like it won't log me in automatically unless I am in the exact position as when I enrolled it.

I have updated my HP Pavilion G6 2242sf to Windows 8.1 and the sound quality is not as good as in Windows 8 : In the Dolby control panel the equalizer works but switch the Dolby Advanced Audio checkbox has no effect so there is no more surround virtualization and the 3 effects "Movie", " Music", and "Voice" are not working anymore. Now my laptop speakers sounds choppy.
I have a HP Pavilion G6-2252sa Notebook running Windows 8 and I have just installed 8.1. All is OK, except the equalizer function in Dolby Advanced Audio V2 is no longer working. You can still move the equalizer sliders but the actual sound quality remains the same. It just sounds flat as if all sliders are permanently set at zero.
