I just received my new Dell E6400 today. When I shut it down, or log off, a window pops-up with a message stating "explorer.exe is not responding'; I must then wait, or click 'end program.'
View 9 RepliesMy wifes' laptop will boot up and work most programs except Microsoft Outlook (get a NOT RESPONDING) note and the cursor just keeps spinning round and round, and also on Internet Explorer, I get the same message (NOT RESPONDING) and that is if I can get Explorer to even open. Both will not shut down until I force a shutdown. I have left it overnight and it will still be NOT RESPONDING and spinning cursor 8-10 hours later. Weird thing is if I start either in SAFEMODE, they both open, run and work fine.

While on the internet I get frequent messages stating the Internet Explorer has stopped working.i have made no changes to my computer, added no new programs.
I have the Sony Vaio VGN-FZ21Z with Vista Home Premium. Recently whenever i try to download files from the internet it brings up a box saying do you want to open, save or cancel. I have tried both open and save, it does sometimes ask me if i want to run it and i press run. It then act as though its tryng to download the file, it then goes off once downloaded and never does anything else. Its sending me nuts as i have tried everything. I tried a system restore as i thought id done something i shouldnt have, ive tried deleting all temporary files and ive just got to the point now where i have ran out.

Sometime when I come back to my machine and the screen saver is on it will be the same thing - explorer.exe is gone.
hello i got a hpdv9408ca running on vista 32bit and what i want to know is when i click on my internet explorer icon the web sit does not work it says not avalible. but i dont know how to change it i can set my home page. when i hit the home page icon my home page comes up but internet explorer i cant figure how to change that. one more thing when i turn my laptop on before windows starts up i get a yellow strip about 1/4 inch thick more to the right hand side of my screen for about 20 sec then it goes away only comes on on start up.

But when I go directly thru Internet Explorer, I get the dreaded Blue Screen. I have gotten a messsage to upgrade to Internet Explorer 11, but when I try to do that, I get the Blue Screen.

It worked but now when I click on the explorer icon, the window opens but nothing - and I mean NOTHING - happens. I can't even close it after waiting and waiting for it to open any page at all! I am connected to our wifi - it tells me the connection is strong. Just nothing comes up! I have tried restarting, waiting awhile before opening the internet, but still blank.

When I swipe my finger, a message indicates that simple pass is launching the address but nothing happens and the website doesn't open.Simple Pass came with my HP Pavilion DV6T-7000 CTO laptop with a 64 bit operating system. I currently use windows 7. Google Chrome is my default search engine but I also use IE on occasion. Previously when my Simple Pass worked, my BOA location was only opening in IE.

View 3 Replies View RelatedMy laptop is the E1705, with ATI x1400 card. The graphics fan is not turning on, no matter how hot it gets.
I have used i8kfangui in the past with great success. However, no matter what I do (hardware sensor on/off, fan force to high, auto control, manual control), the GPU fan will not start up. If I set i8k to monitor, it correctly reports that the fan never turns on, even as it reaches 76C. If i8k tries to set the fan speed, it will report that the fan is running at ~2000 rpm, but the fan is in fact not moving.
I don't think the fan indices are wrong, because the CPU fan control works correctly, and I've tried all the other valid options.
Does anyone have any ideas or been in a similar situation?
I just got this notebook back from Dell, and they replaced the motherboard. My only thought is that they could have forgotten to connect the GPU fan to the power. If no other solution comes up, how can I convince the Dell guys to fix it? i8k isn't supported by Dell, and if I just tell them that it gets hot, I'm sure they're used to that complaint...
I'm pretty comfortable fixing computers, but I looked up how to access the graphics card and it seemed like an awful lot of steps, so I'd rather not do this myself unless there is a simple way to visually identify that the card is not plugged in, or something like that.
My 1555 with a T4200 Intel 2.0Ghz, 4 GB mem, intel video, Win 7 32 bit has developed an annoying delay in keyboard response and web site delay in both IE8 and Firefox.
I'm assuming its the onboard video which I am now stuck with since it can't be upgraded.
Originally it's comes with vista, but I format it and installed win 7, after 8 months suddenlly I surprised that the webcam are stopped working, I tried to install from dell support but useless, what shall I do?
It can be work if i reinstall win vista again and by usb flash memory install all the drivers, it will work or not?

v3460 just puchased 2 weeks ago.Dell support software stopped responding. I had run the program the first week, using the key button. program ran fine.
Yesterday tried it, program stopped working, the program is mysteriously gone. I have tried to reinstall from the dell downloads, It will not complete without an error.Tried system restore.No luck.No restore points available for 1st week of purchase.
I have a new Inspiron 5547 w/Windows 7, everything is working well except for the Touchpad. Initially the touchpad was working fine, then it stopped responding, only when I attached a USB mouse could I use the laptop. I re-installed drivers and the Touchpad worked correctly again. A few days later, the trackpad stopped working again....reinstalled drivers yet again and everything worked fine. Now for the 3rd time in 4 days the trackpad is not working. Is this a hardware or Windows 7 Issue?

I've had my laptop since 2011. Whenever I would press the number 7 key it would repeat endlessly. Also, now when I press a key in the row beneath the numbers row, the 7 repeats itself all across my screen. What could be the problem. Is there a way for me to adjust this problem?

The only thing that can solve the problem was momentarily disconnecting and reconnecting the keyboard . Likewise, the problem usually returns . The local support Dell keyboards we changed several times but the problem persisted.
I just received the HP HDX16T premium series. and downgrade to Windows XP sp3. Suddenly the keyboard stop responding. All keys are not working all at. It was working fine under the manufacture preloaded Windows Vista home. is there ENE CIR windows xp driver.

I recently replaced the fan on my VGN-SZ360P. It was hell, I had to remove everything just to get to it. After a few hours I was able to piece everything back together. Now my Speed switch doesn't work. I need the Speed switch to use the DVI port on my port replicator to out to my external monitor. Seems like it is stuck on Stamina mode. In order to use the DVI port I need to be in Speed mode and with the nVidia graphics card. I tried to uninstall and reinstall everything. Nothing seems to work. I contact Sony and the tech told me to do a system restore. That is going to wipe out my entire computer to factory default.
