View 1 RepliesAny more. Status shows that battery is still charging. What's the resolution for this issue?
Screen shots are given below;
I have the same problem. I have an Inspiron 14z (N411z)
My battery light is flashing orange and the battery icon says that my charger is plugged in but not charging. So when I unplug my laptop it automatically dies. It's been like this for about a week and I've tried everything I found online including
Battery Health says 'System cannot communicate with battery'
Battery Status says ' Battery Charging disabled'
I tried to flash the BIOS by downloading the latest version, however it gives me an error message saying battery needs to be atleast 10% to flash BIOS. Or, it says 'Service already exists'
I bought the laptop in 2011 December, but didn't start using it until October 2012. The laptop is relatively new in terms of usage.
I have upgraded to the latest bios and my fan still seems to run all the time.

View 7 Replies View RelatedI upgraded my dell n411z to one block 8gb memory ram, after this, the laptop doesn't boot. Also not enter to the bios. In a old post i read that the laptop has two memory slots, however, when i replaced the memory only see only one slot. Previusly i cheched the memory compatibility and it's acording to the specs. When i returned to the original memory it works. Why can't i upgrade the memory?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI installed a new hard drive on my Niece's laptop Inspiron 14Z (N441Z) and did a clean install of Win 7 Home Premium. I installed the Chipset drivers first and then started on the list displayed in the support area for this machine. After completing all of the drivers install, my device manager looked like this:
The Unknown Device shows an ID USBUnknown. This machine has 1-USB2 and 2-USB3 ports. If I run the Dell Diagnostics it shows that I have 1-1.1 USB ports, and 2-USB2 ports. The 1.1 port appears to works since it will recognize flash drives etc. This is also true of the of USB2 ports. The other USB2 does not recognize anything except my Samsung Galaxy 4 phone. But when it is unplugged I get a balloon on the task bar that says a USB device is not recognized. This will also occur when I first boot up the machine. It is like the machine is not recognizing the USB ports If I run any of the hardware troubleshooters that Microsoft has it tells me that a driver is missing but when it tries and install, it reports that it fails. I have undated my bios, all drivers, I have uninstalled drivers and then rebooted with no luck.
My laptop is dell Inspiron N411Z, am having a problem :
MY WEBCAM IS NOT WORKING,SHOWN AS"NO SUPPORTED WEBCAM CONNECTED",
IN DEVICE MANAGER ,NO IMAGING DEVICE FOUND.
Last night my dog ran over the keyboard of my Dell Inspiron N411z . The screen now displays upside down. I can fix it manually by using the Fn key and the F1 key which brings up some screen options, but I'd like to permanently fix this. Oddly enough my dog did this to my other laptop a few years back. I'm not sure what he's running across to do this.
How to fix this so the screen isn't upside down every time I start the computer?
I have Dell inspiron N411Z (2009). the webcam stoped to work after skype upgrade. I found out that windows doesn't recognize the webcam. I install the driver Creative live! 2009 or 2011. But it's useless.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI am trying to download drivers for a Dell Inspiron 14Z -N411Z to a USB drive through another laptop, because the hard drive on that Dell completely gave up. There is no installation software disc as it was on another partition on that same hard drive.
When I attempt to install the drives required to the USB drive on my Toshiba, it first wants to install the dsd.exe file before I can download the drivers. After I downloaded that dsd.exe file, I don't seem to find a way to install the required drivers as well. the DellSystemDetect.exe file wants to do that for me, but it is not on the correct laptop.
What do I need to do, to get those drivers downloaded on the USB, so I can complete the installation. I already installed the Windows 7 Home Premium (x64) on the Dell laptop.
I have a N411z with a Conexant audio card. I have upgraded to 8.54.45.0, A04. Can I get this card to recognize a audio in source via a USB port?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI got my hard drive replaced yeterday but now I have no internet connection, it is a dell inspiron n411z. I have the drivers and utilities cd and have tried installing all of the drivers on it, some have checkmarks and some dont so i am confused. What do I do if i installed them in the wrong order? My internet is still not working and there is a yellow box with an exclamation point by the following items: ethernet controller, network controller, pci simple communications controller, sm bus controller, universal serial bus controller, and unknown device. I had this problem last time the hard drive was replaced and somehow fixed it using this CD but I cant remember how.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have an older Inspiron 6400 (looks like the 1505) that isn't charging the battery. The bios indicates that the battery is charging, and that it is performing normally. There isn't a red flashing battery indicator, but when the laptop is powered on there isn't any "green light" indication of the battery, either. The AC adapter performs normally ( Charger is a PA10 (90watt) and it works fine on my D800, and charges that battery normally).
What I don't understand is why the BIOS indicates the battery is charging and that the battery is performing normally. However, when I have the system up and running there isn't a green battery indicator light on the button strip. Let me clarify that statement. During the initial boot phase of start-up there is the green indicator light on the button strip, but as the OS finishes loading this light goes out and the battery doesn't charge.
Could this be caused by a faulty Bios update, or is it something with the battery charging circuit of the motherboard? The laptop operates normally when using the AC adapter, just no indication of the battery charging when the OS is fully loaded. OS is Windows XP Pro (SP3).
I have had my Dell Inspiron 1525 for around two years. For the past month, when my power supply is plugged in, the battery does not charge. It has been stuck on 3% and will automatically shut down when unplugged.
I have seen that this is a very common problem, however, when hovering over the battery icon it says: plugged in, CHARGING, where as all of the other posts that I have seen say: plugged in, NOT charging.
I have tried taking the battery out and restarting but this did not work. I also drained my battery and tried to recharge but again, this did not work. My initial thought is that I may need a new battery but I just wanted to check first.
I have just encountered a problem with my Inspiron 7520 laptop. The laptop is plugged in and notes 'charging'. Problem is that it is not charging and battery has been at 0% for a week now.
Battery meter notes the battery is charging and that the battery is working normally. I have run the 'My Dell' systems test and it failed on the battery with error code WBT02-GX1...
My friend's laptop isn't charging no matter what she tries doing..It doesn't charge when it's on or off, she tried the charger on a friend's laptop and it works..So wat's the problem?

View 2 Replies View RelatedMy Laptop is 1 year and 5 months old. There are 2 problems I am facing with my battery:
1) When it is charging, at around 86% level, it stops charging and I see an orange light blinking at the battery icon and it continues to blink unless I turn the power off and allow the battery to discharge for a while.
2) at around 45% to 50% level, the battery level suddenly drops to 7% level and then I have to charge again.
Because of these issues I now use my laptop as a desktop. It is always plugged in and I use the option of "Stop Charging" in the windows power settings. how to solve the problem.
This new Dell Inspiron 11 3147 just arrived today. The AC Adapter is "plugged in" but the battery is "not charging." Dell Diagnostic has found no problem,I've had trouble getting a hold of customer service. has been to uninstall and reinstall the Microsoft ACPI Complian Control Method Battery driver, which I have done. The only thing I haven't messed with is the battery itself, which doesn't seem to be accessible without damaging the back, which is screwed on and secured well.

View 1 Replies View RelatedMine is an Inspiron 14z, running window 7 ultimate. The last 2 days, my battery will only charge up to 70% then it just stay there although the icon shows "plugged in, charging".
I've tried a couple things:
-Unplug-plug
-Pull out the battery put it back on.
-Uninstall/ Install Microsoft ACPI-compliant control method battery
-Restore to point before this occur.
My Inspiron is running on the ac adaptor. The battery icon contains the plug symbol which should mean that it is being charged, but the capacity is indicated as 4% - 'Plugged in not charging'. The battery is new, so presumably the last one was not at the end of its life!

I have changed the power supply with another. It also works on the battery but don't know how long it will last.
Is it a problem with the battery or motherboard?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI purchased a Dell Inspiron 1525 in April 2008.About 1 month ago I noticed that my computer would automaticaly shut down when the power cord was removed, I hovered over the battery icon in the bottom right corner and it said 0% available plugged in, not charging.
I googled the phrase plugged in, not charging and realised lots of people were having the same problem.I have tried restarting and shutting down my computer (with and without battery and with and without power cord) removing and replacing my battery (while laptop is on and off) a replacement battery from Dell my sister's battery and power cord (she also has a 1525)in my laptop and get the message plugged in, not charging. My battery in her laptop will charge but my power cord in her laptop says plugged in, not charging
removing the battery with the laptop on then restarting the laptop and replacing the battery uninstalling and reinstalling the Power Management Software switching between power plans flashing with current bios
All 3 batteries (hers, my original and my replacement) have adequate charge (50% or higher)I run with Windows Vista Home edition.I have been to the local Dell distributer and they tell me to call Dell. I have tried calling Dell but I keep getting put on hold for 30+ minutes.
I have N5110 laptop and machine does not start with battery plugged in.
I have to perform following steps to boot the system:
remove the battery,
drain the charge by holding start button for few seconds
then boot the system.
If I insert battery after system is up, it says battery strength as "0% available".
I am not even able to flash the BIOS as it needs minimum 10% battery to be available.
I bought a Inspiron 1525 in March 2008. As of today the battery is not charging. I called Dell and they told me that I needed a new battery. After spending nearly $135 for a new battery, I am still having the same issue. Unfortunately my laptop is out of warranty. I have read the various forums on here to find a solution, but still nothing. It seems this is a pretty regular issue with the Inspiron 1525 and other Dell laptops. I've updated the BIOS, I blew into both recepticals, and yes, even tried a new battery.
