Screen shots are given below;
I have the same problem. I have an Inspiron 14z (N411z)
My battery light is flashing orange and the battery icon says that my charger is plugged in but not charging. So when I unplug my laptop it automatically dies. It's been like this for about a week and I've tried everything I found online including
Battery Health says 'System cannot communicate with battery'
Battery Status says ' Battery Charging disabled'
I tried to flash the BIOS by downloading the latest version, however it gives me an error message saying battery needs to be atleast 10% to flash BIOS. Or, it says 'Service already exists'
I bought the laptop in 2011 December, but didn't start using it until October 2012. The laptop is relatively new in terms of usage.
I upgraded my dell n411z to one block 8gb memory ram, after this, the laptop doesn't boot. Also not enter to the bios. In a old post i read that the laptop has two memory slots, however, when i replaced the memory only see only one slot. Previusly i cheched the memory compatibility and it's acording to the specs. When i returned to the original memory it works. Why can't i upgrade the memory?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI installed a new hard drive on my Niece's laptop Inspiron 14Z (N441Z) and did a clean install of Win 7 Home Premium. I installed the Chipset drivers first and then started on the list displayed in the support area for this machine. After completing all of the drivers install, my device manager looked like this:
The Unknown Device shows an ID USBUnknown. This machine has 1-USB2 and 2-USB3 ports. If I run the Dell Diagnostics it shows that I have 1-1.1 USB ports, and 2-USB2 ports. The 1.1 port appears to works since it will recognize flash drives etc. This is also true of the of USB2 ports. The other USB2 does not recognize anything except my Samsung Galaxy 4 phone. But when it is unplugged I get a balloon on the task bar that says a USB device is not recognized. This will also occur when I first boot up the machine. It is like the machine is not recognizing the USB ports If I run any of the hardware troubleshooters that Microsoft has it tells me that a driver is missing but when it tries and install, it reports that it fails. I have undated my bios, all drivers, I have uninstalled drivers and then rebooted with no luck.
My laptop is dell Inspiron N411Z, am having a problem :
MY WEBCAM IS NOT WORKING,SHOWN AS"NO SUPPORTED WEBCAM CONNECTED",
IN DEVICE MANAGER ,NO IMAGING DEVICE FOUND.
Last night my dog ran over the keyboard of my Dell Inspiron N411z . The screen now displays upside down. I can fix it manually by using the Fn key and the F1 key which brings up some screen options, but I'd like to permanently fix this. Oddly enough my dog did this to my other laptop a few years back. I'm not sure what he's running across to do this.
How to fix this so the screen isn't upside down every time I start the computer?
I have Dell inspiron N411Z (2009). the webcam stoped to work after skype upgrade. I found out that windows doesn't recognize the webcam. I install the driver Creative live! 2009 or 2011. But it's useless.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI am trying to download drivers for a Dell Inspiron 14Z -N411Z to a USB drive through another laptop, because the hard drive on that Dell completely gave up. There is no installation software disc as it was on another partition on that same hard drive.
When I attempt to install the drives required to the USB drive on my Toshiba, it first wants to install the dsd.exe file before I can download the drivers. After I downloaded that dsd.exe file, I don't seem to find a way to install the required drivers as well. the DellSystemDetect.exe file wants to do that for me, but it is not on the correct laptop.
What do I need to do, to get those drivers downloaded on the USB, so I can complete the installation. I already installed the Windows 7 Home Premium (x64) on the Dell laptop.
I have a N411z with a Conexant audio card. I have upgraded to 8.54.45.0, A04. Can I get this card to recognize a audio in source via a USB port?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI got my hard drive replaced yeterday but now I have no internet connection, it is a dell inspiron n411z. I have the drivers and utilities cd and have tried installing all of the drivers on it, some have checkmarks and some dont so i am confused. What do I do if i installed them in the wrong order? My internet is still not working and there is a yellow box with an exclamation point by the following items: ethernet controller, network controller, pci simple communications controller, sm bus controller, universal serial bus controller, and unknown device. I had this problem last time the hard drive was replaced and somehow fixed it using this CD but I cant remember how.

View 5 Replies View RelatedLong time no see! I'm about to grab a Inspiron 1521 for $100, the problem is in the title. Run's fine, for a half an hour then shuts off.
My assumption is the maximum problems could be:
- Fans not working, resulting in an overheating: hence shutdown at max temp.
- Heatsinks or thermal compound issues, resulting in an overheating: hence shutdown at max temp.
- Rare possibility that it has a cold solder somewhere located in the mobo: hence shutdown after 30 minutes of running, generated heat build up .....
I just bought an Inspiron 17 3721 running windows 8. The cooling fan runs continuously at one speed. I have had numerous laptops and none have done this before. Is this normal?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have upgraded my laptop from 4GB to 12GB (4+8). After the upgrade, the laptop boots and runs very very slowly. My laptop came with 4GB ram 1600 single stick. I upgraded the RAM by adding another stick of 8GB same bus and same manufacturer. The BIOS shows the total memory as 2288MB instead of 12288MB. Windows detects total RAM of 12GB but boots and runs very slowly.I have updated the BIOS from A06 to A07 trying to resolve the problem but with no luck. When installing each RAM stick alone (4gb or 8gb), everything works fine, but the issue comes back again when both sticks are mounted together even when switching the places on the sockets.

View 8 Replies View RelatedI have a dell inspiron N5050 core i5, 8GB RAM but when I run applications like GNS3, the cpu usage runs up to 100% and freezes whereas the RAM usage is only about 2.7GB (that is, about 33%). How can I get the RAM to function optimally?
I even had to upgrade to Windows 8 thinking it would solve the problem but here I am stuck with the same problem.
My laptop is an inspiron 1520, about a year old now. Ever since I've had it, the hard disk drive has been making a loud, random click from time to time. Sometimes, it will click twice in the space of two minutes, sometimes it will click only once in two or three days.
Typically it's simply a loud snapping sound, like if you get a pencil and snap it against a wooden desk. It doesn't make any other sounds besides the usual hard drive sounds.
For about a quarter of a second, the system pauses. I think it's related to heat, as it happens most often while playing a graphic-intensive game.
So the hinges on this laptop have broken TWICE, requiring my girlfriend to send it in twice, and waiting for the laptop around a month each time. My Gf is last year of highschool and really needs her laptop for school work, and has no other computer.
The problem this time is, that apparently one of the sticks of ram has gone bad and gives a read/write error when the computer is booted up, and gives a bunch of errors when the on-board diagnostics are run. Warranty was extended until the end of this year, but I want Dell to send us a new laptop since she needs her laptop right now. Is there any way I can get her a new updated inspiron? Apparently hinges are a big issue with the 1525, and I can tell that her hinges are going to break in 2-3 months ...
My laptop Dell inspiron N5010 shutdown automatically after some time, i alse diagnose the problem, during diagnose i get the error 2000-0146 of hard disk.

Every time I try to play games, such as Terrarria, The Hidden, Half Life 2, Killing Floor, etc.my computer shuts down. I make it about 5-10 minutes into a game, and it just shuts off. It might be overheating, but I keep my computer elevated, and theres good ventilation. My computer never used to do this. What could it be?
I had a Inspiron 5521 laptop recently , the HDD is ticking all the time ,also when i open certain programs it makes a loud scratching noise !!! BTW it didnt drop or anything
View 3 Replies View RelatedMy laptop starts up okay but as soon as I open some programs it freezes up every time. I have been using it in safe mode and that seems to work better but it still occasionally freezes. I have read that I should do system restore but there are no restore points so I can't do that. I haven't downloaded any new programs in a while so I'm not sure why it's doing this all of a sudden. Its only a few months old.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI just got my new x100e laptop today, and i really like it. But, it has a problem.
I am connected to my wireless network at home, and it works properly on my other computers at house. But on the x100e, the connection drops from time to time. Suddenly, the internet is gone, but ten seconds later, the network is back up again.
It's not that big a problem, but it is frustrating to lose the internet from time to time. It happens from every 5 minutes to once 30 minutes.
It really annoys me that my new laptop, (Just a week old) when turned on takes a very long time before it starts. After the HP logo, it will show a blank page where my cursor can be moved, then it will stay a very a long time so I end up shutting it down then turning on again and again until it finally starts up. This really takes a lot of my time specially I use my laptop for work.
View 6 Replies View Relatedwho came across with slow start up and sleep issues in windows 8.1. ( Dell Inspiron 15-3537).I recently upgraded from windows 8 to 8.1. After installing all the drivers found that fast start up not working and laptop does not awake from "sleep" state.
Actually reinstalling the Intel Video driver solved the problem. When I was going to install video driver, it was said that a newer version is already installed. However neglected that and downgraded the video driver. that 8.1 is faster than 8.you install the latest driver given in dell website.
ok so I just got my new laptop for dell a few days ago and it takes a long time to come out of sleep mode is this normal? btw its a Inspiron 17 7000 Series
