Dell Inspiron N411Z :: No Supported Webcam Connected
Mar 28, 2013My laptop is dell Inspiron N411Z, am having a problem :
MY WEBCAM IS NOT WORKING,SHOWN AS"NO SUPPORTED WEBCAM CONNECTED",
IN DEVICE MANAGER ,NO IMAGING DEVICE FOUND.

Jul 11, 2011Okay, so all was working fine until today, my webcam has stopped working, When i boot Dell Webcam Central i get a message at the bottom stating "No supported webcam connected".
Video chats on MSN and facebook do not work, it's like the webcam no longer exists.
I think it was caused by some other webcam software, which i've since uninstalled.
I've tried reinstalling the "Quanta H.264 Integrate Webcam Rev: A00" driver from the resource disk - it did not work.
I've tried to use system restore to restore to a time i KNOW the webcam was working, it did not work.
I was trying to find the executable to reinstall Webcam Central to see if that had any effect, Went to the "Download Factory Installed Software (My Dell Downloads)" section of the website, and i get this message:

I tick the box and click Register System - Nothing happens. It just stays on the same page. I thought this was because i was in Firefox so i tried IE... same problem. Except this time IE has an error on page.
So... i tried emailing dell support... yet ANOTHER error:

Jan 31, 2015I have Dell inspiron N411Z (2009). the webcam stoped to work after skype upgrade. I found out that windows doesn't recognize the webcam. I install the driver Creative live! 2009 or 2011. But it's useless.

Jan 14, 2015The web cam will show up at times in the device manager but only under show hidden devices. I have gone through the delete the cam and usb hub from devices, load every update, tried every trouble shooter. and reloaded the operating system.

Upon installation I found that the specific version of Dell WC that came with my Studio 15 is not the same one that you find at the downloads center on support.dell.com.
I could never get the downloaded Dell WC to work, even after numerous chats with technical support. No matter how many times I contacted Dell about this, they claimed there is only one version of Dell Webcam Center. Clearly that isn't true .....

Aug 14, 2012I have a DELL Studio 1555 with Windows 7 32 bit Professional OS .It's been pretty great.Only problem is that today I clicked on my webcam as I wanted to use it,and it gives me the above error message.I have NO clue what to do. I really wanna use Skype.
I tried to see the webcam driver updates but i cant find any on the website for the Windows 7 32 bit version .I also reinstalled my OS but the problem remained the same.

My battery light is flashing orange and the battery icon says that my charger is plugged in but not charging. So when I unplug my laptop it automatically dies. It's been like this for about a week and I've tried everything I found online including
Battery Health says 'System cannot communicate with battery'
Battery Status says ' Battery Charging disabled'
I tried to flash the BIOS by downloading the latest version, however it gives me an error message saying battery needs to be atleast 10% to flash BIOS. Or, it says 'Service already exists'
I bought the laptop in 2011 December, but didn't start using it until October 2012. The laptop is relatively new in terms of usage.

Mar 19, 2013I upgraded my dell n411z to one block 8gb memory ram, after this, the laptop doesn't boot. Also not enter to the bios. In a old post i read that the laptop has two memory slots, however, when i replaced the memory only see only one slot. Previusly i cheched the memory compatibility and it's acording to the specs. When i returned to the original memory it works. Why can't i upgrade the memory?

Jan 29, 2015I installed a new hard drive on my Niece's laptop Inspiron 14Z (N441Z) and did a clean install of Win 7 Home Premium. I installed the Chipset drivers first and then started on the list displayed in the support area for this machine. After completing all of the drivers install, my device manager looked like this:
The Unknown Device shows an ID USBUnknown. This machine has 1-USB2 and 2-USB3 ports. If I run the Dell Diagnostics it shows that I have 1-1.1 USB ports, and 2-USB2 ports. The 1.1 port appears to works since it will recognize flash drives etc. This is also true of the of USB2 ports. The other USB2 does not recognize anything except my Samsung Galaxy 4 phone. But when it is unplugged I get a balloon on the task bar that says a USB device is not recognized. This will also occur when I first boot up the machine. It is like the machine is not recognizing the USB ports If I run any of the hardware troubleshooters that Microsoft has it tells me that a driver is missing but when it tries and install, it reports that it fails. I have undated my bios, all drivers, I have uninstalled drivers and then rebooted with no luck.
Dell Inspiron N411z :: Screen Display Upside Down
Apr 15, 2013Last night my dog ran over the keyboard of my Dell Inspiron N411z . The screen now displays upside down. I can fix it manually by using the Fn key and the F1 key which brings up some screen options, but I'd like to permanently fix this. Oddly enough my dog did this to my other laptop a few years back. I'm not sure what he's running across to do this.
How to fix this so the screen isn't upside down every time I start the computer?

Nov 21, 2014I am trying to download drivers for a Dell Inspiron 14Z -N411Z to a USB drive through another laptop, because the hard drive on that Dell completely gave up. There is no installation software disc as it was on another partition on that same hard drive.
When I attempt to install the drives required to the USB drive on my Toshiba, it first wants to install the dsd.exe file before I can download the drivers. After I downloaded that dsd.exe file, I don't seem to find a way to install the required drivers as well. the DellSystemDetect.exe file wants to do that for me, but it is not on the correct laptop.
What do I need to do, to get those drivers downloaded on the USB, so I can complete the installation. I already installed the Windows 7 Home Premium (x64) on the Dell laptop.

Is there any problem when I set "Maximum Performance" next to video, wifi, java script in all plans on AC connected mode?
I see that by default in some plans there is Balanced or low performance set next to those option even on AC connected. Why is that. From my understanding laptop is not running on battery while connected to AC.
Will it change anything if I set maximum performance on "Power Saving" plan when AC is connected? Will it affect my battery, charging time? I'm confused only because of those default settings.

Oct 5, 2010Inspiron 1525 - Battery will not charge with plug connected. Upgraded to current version Bios with no change in error.. Upgraded from 65W to 90W adaptor with no change in error. Swapped known good battery that had 55% power left and it would not re-charge. Put "suspect" battery that had 0% charged into another machine and it is now charging. My laptop will work on cord power and will work on battery as long as I charge it elsewhere. I suspect that something is wrong with the laptop power interface and it is not allowing the power to transfer to the battery charging function. Is this a software issue (I thought the BIOS upgrade might fix this) or a hardware failure. If it is a hardware failure, can I fix it?

I tried to update the drivers but in troubleshoot window its showing "No plugin found ..drivers are not loaded" and for any USB device connected to it, its showing "Unknown USB device".When I went into its detail its showing that "digital signature is not present". I tried all the ways like install, uninstall, reboot. But its not even able to install/update the drivers. All my USB devices were getting detected and were working fine till 5th Nov.11 before this problem started on 6th Nov.11 and I changed nothing in laptop also no damage been caused to it.

Apr 27, 2013My laptop was working correctly and then I booted up one day, the bios worked fine but then the screen went black. I connected an external monitor to the lap-top and the laptop display works fine. As soon as I remove the external monitor, again, I get a black screen on my lap-top.
I have run the full system option of the Dell diagnostics and have 2 errors, battery and dvd flash rom. I have ordered a new battery. I have also noticed that my lap-top does appear to get quite hot.
