View 2 RepliesI have a dell Inspiron N5110 which is just over a year old. I upgraded to windows 8 not too long ago and my laptop has been just fine until today. When I close the lid or do anything to put my computer to sleep, it freezes up. The power button light stays solid and it seems like the computer is stuck. The only way to get it to do anything is to hold the power button down. My bios is updated to A11 which is the latest version. I don't know what else to do. Seems like I've tried everything but I can't figure it out.

View 1 Replies View RelatedNot sure if this is the right place to post this, but I've been having some issues with my E1705 recently. I was just using it for the normal internet browsing/ iTunes playing sort of thing the other day when it up and froze on me. This would happen occasionally, like once a month or so and I generally don't think much of it. However when I rebooted my computer it froze again after about 3-5 minutes after logging onto my user. I run XP still and was able to get enough time in to do a system restore to a few weeks back, but this didn't manage to fix the problem. I can boot it up and run it in Safe Mode for hours with no problems whatsoever. I ran AVG and Windows Defender and neither of them caught anything, and I'm leaning towards it not being a virus, mainly because I hadn't ventured out onto any new or foreign websites within a couple of days of this happening - its not like I was looking at some new site, I was checking my Gmail, Facebook, stocks, etc.
I was wondering if it could possibly be drivers that are causing the problem? I'm not really technically inclined enough to know where or how to look into this. I've exhausted my limited knowledge of easy fixes. I would really rather not clear my HDD and start new, that would be a severe last case scenarior. Just wondering if any folks on here might have some suggestions for me as to diagnose or fix this.
Here are some quick pics and a youtube video at the bottom.

For the past week my laptop (which I've been using for only 3 months), running Windows 7, has been lagging. For Example, when I try to check my email using Live Mail, I click on a new email to read and it takes 20-30 seconds before the message loads. NOW it is not booting up. I try to start the computer and it goes to a black screen & says "Windows failed to start.
A recent hardware or software change might be the cause" so I let it boot in the diagnostic mode (I think that is what it was called, the only other option other than normal mode, but did not say Safe Mode) and it just goes to the blue background but no button to log in, or any way to do anything that I can see. I haven't loaded any new programs, I'm just running Quicken and Photoshop Elements, Mozilla, & Chrome and Norton anti-virus (courtesy of our Comcast internet service). Last night we tried to defrag the hard drive but that just sat at 2% for hours with no results.
bought in 2011 and so far so good until 2 days ago it suddenly become hanged and freeze. I cant use the Alt+Tab or Alt+Cntrl+Delete. The only way is to force shut down by pressing and holding power button. And noticed that after it hanged, the laptop become hotter for no reason (the fans will start become noisy exactly after it hanged)
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have had my laptop for about a year already. Once every session (every time I turn on and shut down), my laptop randomly and unexpectedly freezes. The freezing issue last up 1 min - 2 min. Thinking it was a virus, I restored the laptop back to factory settings. The freezing continued.
View 15 Replies View RelatedMy N5110 laptop freezes if I pick it up or move it. I think there is some loose connection near the fan because it also freezes when I touch that part of the laptop. As far as I know there has been no damages to the laptop and it was working fine till yesterday.

View 1 Replies View RelatedEverytime I try and multitask on the internet my laptop freezes and I am forced to shut it down. Before it only happened while I was multi tasking but now it's getting a lot worser. It often freezes while I'm waiting for a YouTube video to load and now while I was in the process of posting a thread right here about this issue! I did some research online and run into two possible problems; overheating and video graphics card.It can't be overheating because my fan is working fine and I just ran a diagnostic.
As for the video graphics card, I did play around the settings last week after I installed a game called Elder Scrolls V:Skyrim. I configured by entire computer to run on high performance but now I've reverted this change and the freezing still happens. What I can tell you is that while I'm playing the game for over an hour, the laptop doesn't freeze at all. It only freezes now while I'm on the internet for at least more than 20-30 minutes or even less. I'm on Safe Mode with Networking right now as I'm typing.

before i thought that this issue is due to the drivers but I have reboot the window again and run this without drivers but issue does not resolved...
I have having serious issues with my Inspiron N5010. It freezes at random times, and after a few seconds just powers off. I have used the restore function built in to restore to factory shipped condition and it did not fix the issue. I have ran the Dell Diagnostics on startup and tested every component possible and it found no errors. I have ran disk surface error check in windows and it found nothing wrong. I have installed windows manually from windows disc, and the problem is still there. Tried making sure the latest drivers are installed and still no fix. This laptop has never been abused, dropped, overheated, or gotten wet. It still looks brand new.
View 8 Replies View RelatedMy laptop starts up okay but as soon as I open some programs it freezes up every time. I have been using it in safe mode and that seems to work better but it still occasionally freezes. I have read that I should do system restore but there are no restore points so I can't do that. I haven't downloaded any new programs in a while so I'm not sure why it's doing this all of a sudden. Its only a few months old.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI have an Inspiron 1505 about five years old. Lately my computer has been freezing and shutting down for no reason. I can be just reading and it'll freeze. This isn't the first time it has been happening. Back in April I had the same problem. The error message indicated that my hard drive was going bad so it was replaced. Now it's doing it again. This time I got error code M1004. From what I read, this is something about heating. What I have noticed is that the bottom of my laptop runs extremely hot. Will getting a cooling pad?

Running diagnostics I got the following error

I also ran linux to grab some important file but it said that
"Improper shutdown, ntfs drive in use etc .....
My cousin has an Inspiron 1525 laptop which has had an issue of booting. Randomly one day she received the following message, "Internal hard drive not found. Reseat hard drive". It also said from below "Boot to CD by pressing any key" that the "BOOTMGR is not found".
I received the laptop in this state. I booted from the CD (Windows install disc) and was able to reinstall Vista. I then updated all the drivers and had everything working like a charm. I thought I had hit jackpot with an easy reformat. After about 4 hours of having it running perfectly, as I was installing Windows updates, I received the "Internal hard drive not found. Reseat hard drive" message. Now I cannot boot into Windows and booting from the CD no longer works.
Here are some of the specs:
T2390 Dual Core 1.86Ghz
2GB RAM
160GB SATA HDD
Is the hard drive dying? Is it the SATA controller? The motherboard? Anyone have any ideas or past experiences?
I have a Dell Inspiron 1525. It has a Intel Celeron 540 1.86Ghz CPU. I would like to upgrade the cpu in it. I would like at least a Core 2 Duo. What processor will work well and fit in this laptop.

I'm having a serious problem with my laptop right now and I'm fearing the worst: a bad motherboard, a problem which I have found to be pretty common with 1525 users through Google/forum searches.
Hopefully someone out there can relate and has a remedy that will save me money/time/hassles with my laptop, which by the way has been out of warranty for about 6 months.
I purchased the 1525 last April (2008) direct from Dell. Here are the vital specs: Inspiron 1525, Intel Core 2 Duo T5550, 1.83GHz, 667Mhz, 2ML2 Cache. I've never really had any problem with it until yesterday morning. I woke up and pressed the power button after allowing the system to hibernate the night before. The power LED lights up in the bottom left and the touch-sensitive media buttons flash from side-to-side like normal
I was watching a Family Guy episode off the internet probably not a good idea, but About half way through it started to freeze up and skipping.
It then immediately went to a blue screen for a about 5 seconds with numbers and letters and shut off. I turned it back on. It loads a little and comes up to Windows has found a error or something. Says Start in Safe Mode (Windows Recovery Repair) SOmething like that .....
I'm planning to buy a portable speaker for my Dell Inspiron 1525. Is there any type of speaker that will work best,or will any kind speaker work on my laptop?
I prefer the speaker to be portable and can be used also with any audio devices.
There both basically the same. Which one would you get? Im going to be getting one of them from best buy in the new few days but dont know which one to get. Im going to be financing it so it has to be from there. They got the 1525 for $750 with a core 2 duo t5750, 3gb ram and 250gb hardrive. I dont know if they got the Studio 15 but on the dell site the configuration seems the same!
