View 2 RepliesI am having some difficulty getting a Dell Latitude D630 to connect to a projector. I have tried the Fn key+F8 key however this does not work. This option merely cycles through three other options all saying 'Presentation Mode Off'. I have been successful in connecting other laptops with the projector. Is there somthing with the D630 that I have failed to do that is causing this?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI want to use my notebook to do a presentation in class. However, no matter which projector I connect to my Vaio SZ440, the display is unable to be shown on the projector.
I've tried Fn+F7, not working, tried stamina mode, not working, tried speed mode, not working. I've tried "Connect to a projector or other external display", not working. I've no idea what I should do. I really need to fix this or else I'll get screwed this semester. Every other notebook the projector connects to, it will automatically detect and show the display. Only mine is like this.
Please help. About 1 year ago I didn't experience any problem when connecting to a projector. I didn't remember what exactly I do to make it go bad. But I really need it to work this semester.

Have used this projector for 8 months, with no prob til recently.
When I connect the VGA plug into laptop, POW! off it goes. Totally shuts down.
When I connect with with laptop off, and try to boot up, NO GO! No matter if the projector is on, or off, the lap top is just rejecting the VGA cable being connected it its port.
I am running Win 7 on a new T440p. I can't connect to a projector using F7 nor are the brightness controls working (F5 and F6). The other HotKeys are working. I have updated to the latest HotKey driver.

I have recently purchased Dell Inspiron 15R 5521N laptop with Windows 8 Pro. When I try to connect my laptop to an Acer monitor with an HDMI cable, it gives me a no signal error. But when the same laptop is connected to a Philips monitor using the same cable, it works perfectly. As usual I thought that the monitor was the culprit, but when I connected another laptop to the Acer monitor using the same cable it worked without any errors. So where does the problem lie. The HDMI cable is OK, the laptop is also OK as also the Acer monitor?

always loose signal at home and sometimes Id just let my laptop stay off for a while and then it would catch the signal again. yesterday I had problems with conecting to the network. then I checked my ip address on the laptop and it was all zeros... today I tried to check it again, typed in ipconfig command to see the address but there's a message comes out which says that Media is disconnected... I tried to press this wifi button on the laptop but it wont light on. now the wireless network option isn't even in the Network connections folder... I tried to disable/enable it from BIOS but couldnt find it there... my laptop is Compaq Presario R3000

View 8 Replies View RelatedI have been dealing with this for a while now, and it just happened out of no where. I turned on my computer one morning and it wouldnt allow me to connect to my wifi. I have tried EVERYTHING. My computer does allow me to connect an ethernet cord to it and the router and use the internet that way. I know it's not the router because I use the internet on my iPhone and tablet. When I attempt to connect to internet it has a red X where the wireless icon used to be, now the icon looks like a computer screen instead the the little bars. When I tap my wireless button on my key pad a message comes up and notifies me that i just turned my wireless connection off, but no matter if it's off or on that little button always has the orange light on. View 3 Replies View RelatedI have been using Lenovo g500 for about a year now but last week there was some problem with my laptop and I had to restore windows using Lenovo's restore button. The windows restores just fine and I was able to update to Windows 8.1 althought all my data in C drive got wiped. But now my laptop won't connect to any Bluetooth device. Whenever I go to PC settings, it just says "searching for bluetooth devide but it never detects my phone or any other bluetooth devide.
Also, since my data got wiped, I have to install the drivers for my printer again but this laptop won't even recognize the CD!! It won't recognize ANY CD.
And the Lenovo Veriface won't work either now.I've searched and searched for these issues. I re-installed bluetooth drivers and lenovo veriface but they still don't work. And the bluetooth drivers never got deleted from my laptop since they were installed in Drive D but they don't. laptop won't install my printers drivers.

Lately, I've experienced many occasions when the laptop fails to connect to a wireless network when other PCs in the same room connect. I should say it mostly connects, but with "limited connectivity" and no Internet access. I have typed in my security key, yet it is still saying that it cannot connect to that network. I have been on the phone with my ISP and they cannot see why it does not connect. Usually, in these cases, I would hard-cable it to the router, but the laptop does not have an appropriate connection port. Obviously, being new, it is Win 8.1 ..........

I have had this laptop for a few months now but have never really had to use WiFi - now I need WiFi I find the laptop will not connect to my router, it also displays no WiFi networks. I have opened Device Manager/Network Adapters and the wireless adapter is apparently up to date and working correctly. The adapter is a Realtek RTL8188EE 802.11b/g/n Wi Fi Adapter. The laptop is just a few paces away from the router so should easily receive the signal, my Android shows the router signal strength at 100% with a speed of 150Mbps. Why the laptop will not connect to WiFi ....
I just bought this Ultrabook the other day and I travel for business. While at home, I tested the mini-display port output with my TV and it projected my laptop screen perfectly. Now I am on the road at a client site and their Epson projector will not recognize my computer's output (or more likely my computer won't recognize their projector, since other people have no problem connecting to this same projector).

Half the times I try to sign into my favourite sites with log-ins I type in my details ,pres enter, press NO for do I want simple pass to add to list and then nothing happens. If I press sign in again then simplepass pops up again and nothing happens until I restart my laptop then its usully OK again.
Can I safely just uninstall simplepass without creating future problems as I don't want to use it anyway.

My main aim is to playback Blu-ray ripped movies from 6935g and output to projector via hdmi.
When projector is connected to 6935g, yeah, it detected the projector and the desktop appears on the projector screen, that's the easy part 6935g downsized to 1280x720p automatically, guess that is because my pj only supports 720p and not 1080p, need to start save again for a 1080p pj,
Now the big question
Powerdvd playback the movie on the 6935g screen but the powerdvd on the pj screen is black in color, no movies
I use powerdvd instead of acer arcade deluxe because the latter does not play Blu-ray ripped movies, also the acer arcade does not play blu-ray disc from the blu-ray drive, it says graphic driver not compatible it does however play the demo disc when pj not connected
My Inspiron 1520 can't connect to SMC8014W-G. I'm using the Dell Wireless 1390 WLAN Mini-Card.
My settings for the wireless are set to Auto (instead of W or G). And the Channel is set to 11. I tried other channels but it's the same deal.
The router is at all default settings, with a level 1 WEP. My room mate can connect, but I can't. We're both using Vista.
I went to get onto my laptop yesterday evening and it wasn't picking up any wifi. I did the trouble shoot and it said to connect to an ethernet cable. This has never happen to me before and I don't know what to do. Today I did a system restore to a few days ago when it was working just fine... nothing happened.. I tried to press the button on the keyboard to turn the wireless adapter on and that didn't work either. I really need this computer at least for a couple more months for my school work.

In doing so he completly wiped the driver software out. So now I can't connect to the internet and my aero transparnce isn't working either. I checked the device manager and under Other Devices were 3 drives a PCI controlle(i belivie) network adaptor and ethernet adopter. I'm not what driver software i should install in order to get it back working or at least the internet back up.
