Sometimes my cursor changes into a shape that's not in the list of possible mouse pointers and I can't print screen it, because it's not in the image when I search it..
It looks like this: 2small white triangles with a white line in between. Sometimes they point left and right, and my pc starts scrolling sideways, and sometimes they point up and down and it starts scrolling downwards.
I updated a lot of drivers and restarted my pc. I scanned for viruses, but nothing could be found.
It happens with or without a mouse inserted. It's really annoying, because surfing on the internet becomes frustrating.
O yeah, that pc doctor from the dell site did not find anything either.
It's a relatively new inspiron laptop (less than a year) and I have this problem since the beginning.
My dell inspiron 3250 started to shut down automatically these days. When i ran the Diagnostics its showing an error code : 2000-0511, Validation: 78746 .

It frequently starts and working for 2-3 sec then again stops .. again after sometimes it gets started.... I have already opened up my laptop and cleaned all the dust ... but the story continues... should I have to replace heat-sink?

I have an XPS L701x that will automatically go into sleep mode after only a couple of minutes of using the system, and won't "wake up" unless I remove the battery and reboot it. I've checked my power settings and they show "Never" on going into sleep mode.
View 1 Replies View RelatedSeriously sick of randomly clicking because my hands are too fat. I know that my previous dell had an option where it would automatically shut off the trackpad if an external mouse was detected. Is that available on the 13?
View 5 Replies View RelatedI was using my laptop the other day and it froze up. Then it shut down by itself. When I tried booting it back up, it says "No bootable devices found" and gives me the options to press F1, F2 or F5 for retrying, setup utility and diagnostics. I ran the diagnostics and it says "All tests passed". The SSD also seems to be recognized as it shows it in the "configuration" tab in diagnostics. I have also tried taking the msata SSD from the 2.5" bay and moving it to the msata slot. Rebooted but shows the same thing. Is this a known issue and is there a fix for this?
View 9 Replies View RelatedMy dell Inspiron N4030 turns off automatically without any warning message and without system shut-down message after some random amount of time. Whenever I turn on the laptop it will work about 10 minutes and then turns off "boom!" and as I restart will work for 7-8 minutes and again turns off. If I keep on restarting it again and again without giving it rest then the working time keeps on decreasing...

View 1 Replies View RelatedI am using Dell Inspiron 13 7000 2 in 1 laptop for last 2 months. It is a nice laptop to use.
But I have an issue now. It is that the touch screen touches itself automatically on the left side of the screen over top to bottom. It occurs occasionally and it is annoying. I can't control the mouse when it occurs. When I restart the system, it stops.
I can't find any solutions for that. I did calibrate also. It didn't worked.
It touches all over the left portion without gaps.
Just bought last Xmas.
Did all the diagnostic test...every pass. Still take 30 to bootup.
Whenever i run music players, my dvd drive runs automatically....and sometimes the dvd drive wont open too ...i am having this problem just some few days back...otherwise it was just all fine..

View 4 Replies View RelatedI put the sims 3 in the computer, it loads to the main screen and the shuts down. It doesn't give any warning and does not restart. It also doesn't give a reason or notice as to why it shut down. The computer is not over-heating and I only have 1 expansion pack. Extra info: It is an 8GB RAM, intel core i5, is a 64-bit operating system, and Windows 8.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have an Inspiron 15R Windows 7. Set default power setting "Ballanced" but screen goes blank after 1 minute and 5 seconds not moving my mouse or depressing keyboard key on both battery power and plugged in. Screen should remain on 5 minutes on battery and 10 minutes plugged in. Tried resetting default power settings without success. Very distracting when trying to read anything that takes longer than 65 seconds.

My Inspiron 1545 use to randomly shuts down (direct shutdown), I think i was due to over heating because i could feel the bottom of the laptop get really hot, so i started to have the laptop elevated for better air flow, that worked for a little while but then it would have the same problem, i have not cleaned the inside of the laptop or ever opened it, but i plan to do it to see whats going on, i don't think i have a warranty on it anymore so i think will experiment, but before i do that, i wanted to know what could be the cause of this problem, my best guess is i need to clean it or replace the CPU fan.
Also, I left my laptop in the car overnight and i was really cold out, after that night, now the laptop doesn't stay on more than 2 mins.....
I want to know which type of RAM is used on my Dell Inspiron 15R N5010 also i want to add a graphics card. How to check?
View 1 Replies View Relatedmy N5010 won't turn on. I've tried removing the battery and power cable and starting independently of each other....no joy. View 1 Replies View RelatedBattery drained on my laptop. I did not notice that it was not charging. I purchased a new charger cord, but it would not charge. The laptop shut off and will not come back up. When I press the power button, the power button flashes on, three lights flash on front, you can hear either the hard drive or fan start up but then it all goes off. Do I need a new battery?
