My Inspiron N5010 is powering on however the display is off
Previously I was running a Windows diagnostic test; however the system froze and I had to power off manually & since then I haven't been able to restart
My friend laptop got locked with HDD password , I cleared cmos battery then tried once it went in to bios but in next boot it started asking system password in blue BOX.

View 2 Replies View RelatedMy laptop was working correctly and then I booted up one day, the bios worked fine but then the screen went black. I connected an external monitor to the lap-top and the laptop display works fine. As soon as I remove the external monitor, again, I get a black screen on my lap-top.
I have run the full system option of the Dell diagnostics and have 2 errors, battery and dvd flash rom. I have ordered a new battery. I have also noticed that my lap-top does appear to get quite hot.
I've discovered my display driver has stopped working and frequently crashes.
Can i get a download link and replace it for Inspiron 15R (N5010)
Monitor in black display but with the power turned ON. Also, I cant do anything for any backup solutions cause of the reason above stated.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI have a dell Inspiron n5010 laptop and use it for personal works and photo editing as a photographer. when I watch a picture, in some specific zoom levels there are weird vertical and horizontal lines witch create many regular squares in the picture. it's not matter what software display it for me (it happens in every photo browsers I have and even in firefox) here you can see them (this picture is taken by Prntscr Button):
here you can see that little squares witch is annoying for me as a photographer! these squares goes away if i zoom in more! but some times squares are bigger like this: (same photo) as you can see it looks like some sort of distortion! and here you can see the same photo when it is displayed normally: my own guess is some sort of GPU problem!what I should do to get rid of these squares? some of my laptop specs are as follow: Dell Inspiron 15 (N5010) Laptop CPU: intel core i5 2.8

I just got an Inspiron 17R a day ago with Window 8 and have been fairly lost in operating it and Windows 8.
1. How I can set the NUMLK to stay on after powering off?
2. How do I turn on the back lighting for the keyboard?
3. Is there a manual somewhere that would explain the computer keys and functions?
My dell inspiron 7537 is not powering up. When charger plugged in the charger led glows, but when powered on nothing happens. No display, no light, no beeps, no fan, nothing.

Recently, out of nowhere the computer is not powering up. I plug the power cable in (without the battery) and the caps lock key's light lights up but nothing else happens.
Once I place the battery into the laptop with the power cable, the third light on the front of the laptop (below the touchpad) lights up in this sequence and keeps repeating itself:
Amber/red
Amber/red
Amber/red
Amber/red
White
Then repeats from beginning.
I have tried the usual, power discharge by making sure all power sources are removed and holding down the power button for 60secs. Tried with known-working RAM and also with an external monitor - no luck.
There are no other POST notifications that I can see, no beeps etc. Just the lights on the front which only happens when the battery is plugged in with the power cord. I cannot find anywhere in the manual what the lights mean.
My laptop model is Dell inspiron n5010 (2011) . It was running fine until today when suddenly while I played game it started lagging, first I thought that probably I run too many app but I ran task manager and saw that my cpu is 100 % and led lamp for hdd is always on. I restarted and saw that right after I click the button the led is on. I ran defrag disk twice.

When I push he start button it beeps 3 times, there will be a pause of maybe 10 seconds and will beep 3 times again. This cycle repeats. The screen just stays black.

View 5 Replies View RelatedInspiron N5010 does nothing when power button pressed, if power cord is attached then blue charging light goes out indicating that power unit has been overloaded and tripped out. If power lead is unplugged from laptop and mains supply, then plugged into mains again power is restored to adaptor and blue light on lead lights up again. Using Dell manual I have stripped laptop down to component parts. If mains adaptor is plugged into I/O board then charging light on lead remains lit. When motherboard ( including CPU ) is remounted onto I/O board, when mains adaptor is plugged in charging light goes out. Motherboard does not show any burnt area's or signs of damage to any component. Tried all versions of static discharge to laptop before stripping down without success. If the only solution is to replace Motherboard how can I order. The existing board includes 1GB ATI Mobility Radeon HD550v Graphics. The laptop is out of warranty.

I have a Dell Inspiron N5010 laptop running Windows7, and it automatically powers off when I login to my computer.
I tried to run Diagnostics but it will not complete as laptop crashes within 30 seconds or so of logging in. As it crashes there is an audible click.
This happens both when the laptop is on AC Power and Battery, and in safe mode or starting normally.
I have a Inspiron 15 Intel (N5010) laptop with Win7 64bit. when I start my computer with headphones plugged in and then unplug them, no sound comes from the speakers. If I start the laptop with headphones unplugged then there is no problem (also, when I start with the unplugged, then plug the headphones in and then unplug, the sound from the speakers is ok).
I installed the latest audio drivers and codecs. But now that I think of it, I installed latest network drivers from dell site. I have a TOSHIBA MK6461GSYN hard drive and I wonder where could I check if there is a newer firmware available? Checked Toshiba site and they had some update program but that needed a floppy drive.

In order to fix that, I attempted to do a system restore with the Dell Factory Image. However, I received the "Bootmgr is missing" upon the system rebooting. Are there any solutions out there that do not require a Windows 7 re-installation disk, I do not have one. If the solution does require a DVD, where can I order one. My laptop is only two years old, so I do not believe that the hard drive is dying.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI have replaced mother board and LCD of my Inspiron N5010. After replacement, it started to shut down constantly, usually 5-10 min after start up. I have run diagnostics, it showed error 2000-0413 (LCD cable not detected), but could not finish all diagnostic process, cause it shut down again during CPU memory test.
Is it possible that because of this error computer shut downs then working or it is two separated problems? Can it be that only cable connector causing error or it is a defect of new mother board?
I have a Dell Inspiron N5010 and about one year ago it starting booting slowly. I created a second partition and installed a vanilla Windows 7 on it and booted into it and it still boots slowly.I've tried every form of optimization that various sites, including you, have told other people in forums. Drivers, defragmentation, chmod, and various other things I can't remember.
It takes about 3-5 minutes for a cold boot and about 9 minutes from hibernation. Sleep mode works normally.I don't know what the issue could be. View 1 Replies View RelatedI have an Inspiron N5010, roughly two and a half years old. It's been a pretty good computer. It would never crash unless it overheated, and to solve that I soon bought a cooler. I've never really had too much a crashing problem, besides an odd crash here or there when, I'm assuming the problem is, a number of programs running large processes and taking up a vast amount of RAM, and even then it usually is quite warm.
Lately I've not used the computer as much as I used to say, over the summer, but I'm still on it often. Normally I have a few tabs of Chrome open, and sometimes iTunes will be running as well. There's not usually anything more than that. However, my computer has randomly started to crash. Out of complete nowhere, with no warning whatsoever, the computer stops working and just... shuts down, as if it were overheating or something. At first I thought it had been due to charge, or had simply died on me, but when I plugged it back in both times it's done it now, I learn the battery has been probably a little under 100% when it crashed. The battery is quite new, received no sooner than November of last year.
The computer, when it crashes, is not warm at all either. Perhaps a little from where my hands were, but never warm enough to think it overheated. In the past three weeks, it's crashed twice. I know that sounds a bit little, but both times very little was actually being done. When it comes to school and projects and whatnot, when the workload really gets heavy (and it will!), I'm concerned it might start crashing more and more, or not be able to handle a heavy workload.
I recently had my hard drive replaced and windows 7 reinstalled on my laptop. My touchpad hot key is not working now. It did before. I have Inspiron N5010.

When I decided to do some work on it, now the Power botton and Battery light is flashing white. Try the troubleshooting of removing the battery, power cord and hold the power botton down for 10 seconds, it's still flashing. Not sure what to do next.
