I have a Dell Inspiron N5010 laptop running Windows7, and it automatically powers off when I login to my computer.
I tried to run Diagnostics but it will not complete as laptop crashes within 30 seconds or so of logging in. As it crashes there is an audible click.
This happens both when the laptop is on AC Power and Battery, and in safe mode or starting normally.
I have an Inspiron N5010, roughly two and a half years old. It's been a pretty good computer. It would never crash unless it overheated, and to solve that I soon bought a cooler. I've never really had too much a crashing problem, besides an odd crash here or there when, I'm assuming the problem is, a number of programs running large processes and taking up a vast amount of RAM, and even then it usually is quite warm.
Lately I've not used the computer as much as I used to say, over the summer, but I'm still on it often. Normally I have a few tabs of Chrome open, and sometimes iTunes will be running as well. There's not usually anything more than that. However, my computer has randomly started to crash. Out of complete nowhere, with no warning whatsoever, the computer stops working and just... shuts down, as if it were overheating or something. At first I thought it had been due to charge, or had simply died on me, but when I plugged it back in both times it's done it now, I learn the battery has been probably a little under 100% when it crashed. The battery is quite new, received no sooner than November of last year.
The computer, when it crashes, is not warm at all either. Perhaps a little from where my hands were, but never warm enough to think it overheated. In the past three weeks, it's crashed twice. I know that sounds a bit little, but both times very little was actually being done. When it comes to school and projects and whatnot, when the workload really gets heavy (and it will!), I'm concerned it might start crashing more and more, or not be able to handle a heavy workload.
I have a dell Inspiron 15 N5010 which is about 4 years old. It was working properly, but suddenly it went off and when i restarted it, there was nothing which appeared on screen, but there was a beep sound which went on until i turned my laptop off. Even the startup screen didnt appeared during this. The power button lights up, fan is running, but the screen is not coming up.
I have noticed one thing also, if i put it on for long time, so that it gains enough heat due to constatnt running and then I restart it, the screen will come. and after sometime, the screen distorts and after few seconds, the laptop screen turns black and the beep sound appears which start crying until i turn laptop off.
I have an issue with my Inspiron N5010 screen, it doesn't work when switching on my laptop on Battery or AC mode. It happens a lot of times when I turn on the laptop the power button, the power indicators at the bottom turns on normally and the laptop is running without any weird sounds. But the screen is pitch black even doesn't show up anything when I concentrate on it in with a lamp or any light.
When I press the power button again even after 5 mins from the start time of being running the laptop just turn off immediately and doesn't take time to switch off as If the windows wasn't loaded!
I was resolving this problem by disconnecting the AC adapter > removing the battery > Pressing and hold the power button for 20 seconds technique.but today it doesn't work anymore, If there's anything I can do to get the screen backlight to work normally ....
my VGN-NW350F. I just completed a semi-clean install and I can't get the WINDVD BD program to run. It crashes about 5 sec after startup (no splash screen or anything). I have tried reinstalling it numerous times from the recovery partition and recovery disks.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI have an Inspiron N7010 laptop( about 3 years old) that came with 4gb RAM. I want to upgrade to 8gb. I have tried 3 different brands of memory
including Dell memory. I have run extensive memory tests( the Dell memory does not fail ). I have the exact memory part number that Dell support
has given me. In ALL cases, after installing the 8gb RAM, the laptop boot and then at some point will simply shutdown ( just like you powered down ).
The system info from the control panel shows that all 8gb is recognized. I have looked for and installed all the bios, chip set, and cpu upgrades from dell.
My laptop model is Dell inspiron n5010 (2011) . It was running fine until today when suddenly while I played game it started lagging, first I thought that probably I run too many app but I ran task manager and saw that my cpu is 100 % and led lamp for hdd is always on. I restarted and saw that right after I click the button the led is on. I ran defrag disk twice.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI have a Dell Inspiron N5050 that unfortunately shuts down on its own or fails to respond when it goes to sleep mode. This doesn't happen every time it goes to sleep but it still happens quite frequently. When it shuts down on it's own, it displays a "Windows Did Not Shut Down Properly" message once it is turned back on. It very rarely displayed a Blue Screen of Death that mentioned something about drivers but this hasn't popped up in a while.
I've been in contact with a Dell representative for about a week now, having him call me every day to remote control my laptop and try something new. He updated all of the drivers he could find (I previously did this but he decided to go ahead and re-download them anyways), updated the BIOS (again, tried that already on my own), ran all sorts of diagnostic tools (the only one that he ran that I hadn't already run was the WinDbg X86 program), changed sleep settings (tried that on my own too), had me scan the entire computer for about 3 hours to check for hardware issues (It was one of the options under the F12 key when the computer first boots up and it came up clean), and yesterday he set up a new user account and had me use that for a day to see if the problems were linked to my profile (didn't even think about that one). It's actually caused the problem to occur more frequently to be quite honest. Today was especially bad, as the computer crashed 9 times and ended up deleting the newly created profile on its own in an attempt to repair itself.
Recently got a hand me down laptop. My brother did a reinstall of Windows 7 and formatted the hard drive before handing it over.
Its having issues - I'm trying to play FM 2013 but keep getting crashes during games. When I looked in Device Manager there were a load of yellow !. Most I solved by just right clicking and updating the drivers. The 540M graphiics were not showing up a all - so I had to download these from the website myself - but now have the Nvidia centre - which seems to work.
But still the SM bus controller still shows a yellow ! - and the game continues to crash, sometimes it forces a system shutdown.
When I click on the yellow ! and get a hardware ids i get:

I purchased an inspiron 15r 5520 a few months ago. I ran assassins creed 3 on it and have run into some problems.
Now I read a lot about this problem on other forums. Whenever I run the game it crashes after some time and hangs up my computer too. Many think its because the dedicated graphic card (Radeon 7760M).
I have had my Dell Inspiron 5110N for just over 15 months and it has worked perfectly in that time. In the last week however it has started to crash unexpectedly. At first it just wouldn't work when I opened it.. And I hadn't a clue why. It didn't work for several days. I took the battery out and cleared out any dust and it then worked. However it continued to crash and I noticed that it was when I lifted the laptop up and then put it down again.. Any pressure on the bottom and it seemed to crash completely. I presume there is a loose connection somewhere. What the issue could be?
View 2 Replies View RelatedInspiron N5010 does nothing when power button pressed, if power cord is attached then blue charging light goes out indicating that power unit has been overloaded and tripped out. If power lead is unplugged from laptop and mains supply, then plugged into mains again power is restored to adaptor and blue light on lead lights up again. Using Dell manual I have stripped laptop down to component parts. If mains adaptor is plugged into I/O board then charging light on lead remains lit. When motherboard ( including CPU ) is remounted onto I/O board, when mains adaptor is plugged in charging light goes out. Motherboard does not show any burnt area's or signs of damage to any component. Tried all versions of static discharge to laptop before stripping down without success. If the only solution is to replace Motherboard how can I order. The existing board includes 1GB ATI Mobility Radeon HD550v Graphics. The laptop is out of warranty.

I have a Inspiron 15 Intel (N5010) laptop with Win7 64bit. when I start my computer with headphones plugged in and then unplug them, no sound comes from the speakers. If I start the laptop with headphones unplugged then there is no problem (also, when I start with the unplugged, then plug the headphones in and then unplug, the sound from the speakers is ok).
I installed the latest audio drivers and codecs. But now that I think of it, I installed latest network drivers from dell site. I have a TOSHIBA MK6461GSYN hard drive and I wonder where could I check if there is a newer firmware available? Checked Toshiba site and they had some update program but that needed a floppy drive.

In order to fix that, I attempted to do a system restore with the Dell Factory Image. However, I received the "Bootmgr is missing" upon the system rebooting. Are there any solutions out there that do not require a Windows 7 re-installation disk, I do not have one. If the solution does require a DVD, where can I order one. My laptop is only two years old, so I do not believe that the hard drive is dying.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI have replaced mother board and LCD of my Inspiron N5010. After replacement, it started to shut down constantly, usually 5-10 min after start up. I have run diagnostics, it showed error 2000-0413 (LCD cable not detected), but could not finish all diagnostic process, cause it shut down again during CPU memory test.
Is it possible that because of this error computer shut downs then working or it is two separated problems? Can it be that only cable connector causing error or it is a defect of new mother board?
I have a Dell Inspiron N5010 and about one year ago it starting booting slowly. I created a second partition and installed a vanilla Windows 7 on it and booted into it and it still boots slowly.I've tried every form of optimization that various sites, including you, have told other people in forums. Drivers, defragmentation, chmod, and various other things I can't remember.
It takes about 3-5 minutes for a cold boot and about 9 minutes from hibernation. Sleep mode works normally.I don't know what the issue could be. When I decided to do some work on it, now the Power botton and Battery light is flashing white. Try the troubleshooting of removing the battery, power cord and hold the power botton down for 10 seconds, it's still flashing. Not sure what to do next.

View 1 Replies View RelatedIt has occurred to me that there's an issue with either my Dell Inspiron 3520 Laptop Computer or my Windows 8.1/Windows 8 OS. Occasionally, running the computer (sometimes when it's overheating or just when unplugging the laptop), the computer just crashes, i.e. Screen goes black, power light and HDD light stays on for a about 2 seconds before powering off. No blue screen, no warning, no updates. There's was no reason for it to go off, but it did. It's frustrating because:
1.) When I'm working/playing a game/hosting a multi-player server, the computer tends to crash in the middle of it causing my work to go to waste.
2.) I believe it will damage my laptop and cause further problems in the future
I've researched a bit about this issue before and people have said that it's due to overheating, but I have proven that this is not the case for me as I have placed my PC beside a fan where it kept a steady temperature of about 50-65 Degrees Celsius and I've still faced the issue.
