I am having a problem with the mouse, both the touchpad, and when I plug an external mouse in (although the problem seems to occur with somewhat less frequency when I am using the external mouse). The computer is having trouble recognizing mouse clicks. Sometimes it recognizes them properly, sometimes it responds to left clicks as if they were right clicks, and sometimes it does not respond to them at all. The problem seems to be worse when I am using a web browser, but it occurs consistently.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI am having problems with the touchpad on my laptop. When I am in the middle of typing I have to watch because it will begin typing where my cursor was laft on the screen. I have to be very careful because I barely touch my touchpad and the mouse will click. I have tried to figure out how to turn the sensitivity down but I cannot find it in the devices. It tells me no devices were found when I click on the mouse folder. I have tried and tried but I cannot find anywhere to change the settings for the touchpad. when I am trying to type a paper and I look up and half my paper is in the middle of a different section or it just hasn't been typing because I have clicked out of the screen.

It looks like this: 2small white triangles with a white line in between. Sometimes they point left and right, and my pc starts scrolling sideways, and sometimes they point up and down and it starts scrolling downwards.
I updated a lot of drivers and restarted my pc. I scanned for viruses, but nothing could be found.
It happens with or without a mouse inserted. It's really annoying, because surfing on the internet becomes frustrating.
O yeah, that pc doctor from the dell site did not find anything either.
It's a relatively new inspiron laptop (less than a year) and I have this problem since the beginning.
I have Dell Inspiron N5010 with Windows 7 Enterprise 64bit.
I installed the latest driver for bluetooth device
(Title : Network:Dell Wirless 365 Bluetooth DriverVersion : A00OEM Name : DellOEM Ver : 6.2.1.1100 Computers : Inspiron - N5010).
I checked it in device manager and services and everything is ok. (Bluetooth service and Bluetooth support service is running and Device Manager: Dell Wireless 365 Bluetooth module, Microsoft Bluetooth enumerator ).
The bluetooth sign is on at task bar.
I try to add any device with blutooth add device wizard but It can't discover something.
If I try to connect from another notebook to dell then I can see the dell notebook but can't connect with pairing code because nothing appear on dell (Pairing popup or something else) The "Can see any other device my bluetooth" is on at dell notebook.
So I can't pairing and discovering by Dell but windows doesn't give any error.
I tried more driver from dell and generic windows driver and the problem doesn't appear.
My inspiron n5010 running in win7 doesn't have driver for bluetooth peripheral device and an unknown device .....
I installed microsoft fix it for hardware and devices, they detected problem but unable to solve. So that i can use my bluetooth .....
I have Inspiron N5010. I downloaded the Windows 8 and the bluetooth stopped working.
I downloaded the drivers from the dell.com, but all it says is this "this product has compatibility issues" ...
ALSO, i can not use my webcam to take the pics. it will only turn on when using yahoo messenger or something.

I can't see (through Linux Live DVDs or Win 7 Installation DVD) the Document Folder. There's is a User Folder and a UserName Folder but no Document Folder. There's a Desktop Folder but the files that used to be there are no longer there. I'm not sure if I really lost them or they're hidden by the system. I thought of removing the Hard Drive and connecting it to another PC to see if the Documents are still there but for this Inspiron, you need an Engineering Degree to remove the HD.

I have a dell Inspiron Dell1525 with the bluetooth mouse they sent me. I left the mouse on and had to change the batteries. The mouse worked fine. I took a food break and left the mouse on.
When I tried to use it, the cursor didn't appear on the screen. Any ideas? The only thing I can think of is the bluetooth connection needs to be redone. Any ideas how to do it?
Inspiron N5010 does nothing when power button pressed, if power cord is attached then blue charging light goes out indicating that power unit has been overloaded and tripped out. If power lead is unplugged from laptop and mains supply, then plugged into mains again power is restored to adaptor and blue light on lead lights up again. Using Dell manual I have stripped laptop down to component parts. If mains adaptor is plugged into I/O board then charging light on lead remains lit. When motherboard ( including CPU ) is remounted onto I/O board, when mains adaptor is plugged in charging light goes out. Motherboard does not show any burnt area's or signs of damage to any component. Tried all versions of static discharge to laptop before stripping down without success. If the only solution is to replace Motherboard how can I order. The existing board includes 1GB ATI Mobility Radeon HD550v Graphics. The laptop is out of warranty.

I recently got a new battery for my Inspiron 15R, N5010, charged it but didn't use it for a while. When I decided to do some work on it, now the Power botton and Battery light is flashing white. Try the troubleshooting of removing the battery, power cord and hold the power botton down for 10 seconds, it's still flashing. Not sure what to do next.

The laptop had not over been over heated, I checked straight after it crashed. It now is completely unresponsive i've tried using different chargers, batteries and I have also checked the internal hardware and everything seems to be intact, I assume at the moment it is a motherboard malfunction.

I just bought a new battery (90 Whr) for my Dell Inspiron N5010 as the original one had reached the end of it's life. I put the new battery in, charged it fully, and when I turned my laptop on the window colors were changed to blue and when I go into the personalization screen it won't let me change back to the settings I had before. Also I used to be able to preview the windows I had open by hovering over the icon in the task bar now it just shows a blue bar with the page title and when I hover over it nothing happens. I hover over the right side of the task bar to show desktop and nothing happens. What I wan't to know is how come the battery changed all this and how do I get things back the way I had them?

if this mouse will work with bluetooth installed in M1530 {bluetooth 355 +EDR} and therefore I will have another USB slot free - or it will work only with its own bluetooth..
So I dropped the extra 40 something for the bluetooth capability in my 1640, thinking it would be a fantastic way to save a usb port and add convenience for an external mouse.
Problem is, I've been to several futureshops, bestbuys, and londondrugs and none of them (okay, there was ONE) have bluetooth mice...

when I pair my phone (HTC Sensation) with my laptop I can only see the option to share files and transfer PIM objects. There is no option whatsoever to stream audio or to use my laptop as a headset. I had this option in my windows 7 acer laptop but that was using a Broadcom driver for Bluetooth..

The website doesn't list the Studio 15 as compatible with it. The SXPS 16 is there, but I figured bluetooth is bluetooth
I wanted to add Bluetooth to my laptop so that I could get a wireless mouse (and down the road, a wireless keyboard as well). I know I could have went with some sort of RF wireless, but I just know that somewhere down the line I would end up losing the dongle -- so BT was the best bet!
Made my purchase 7/21 early in the AM, and my items arrived on 7/22 in the afternoon! I live in Indy, and the items came from near Dayton, Ohio... but still, talk about free shipping! I also purchased a new SwissGear/Wenger backpack, and that shipped separately from South Bend, Indiana -- and also arrived today on 7/22.
Went to install the BT module in my laptop, and my worst fear was true -- Dell sent me the wrong screws! There were many reviews on the Dell site about them sending out the wrong screws, and I was afraid it would happen, and unfortunately it did. I went through all my screws, and could not find anything that would fit... so, so that I could test the module I temporarily left it installed without being screwed it. The install was uber-easy, connect up the blue antenna, and done!
I really like this travel mouse, as well. I put some rechargeable batteries in it which I hope will help it last for quite a while. Its slightly larger than my previous wired travel mouse (from Logitech), but I like that. It isnt anywhere near being a full-size mouse, but its a good size for me. A little heavy with two AA batteries in it, but not terrible or anything. I'd might try to find a little pouch to stuff it in when taking it with me, for a little extra scratch-protection and what-not. Oh, I got the matte black version, cuz I hate glossy things that show fingerprints
I chatted with Dell tonight, and they are "supposedly" sending me the proper screws... in 3-5 business days. I tried to get them to upgrade that to overnight shipping so I would definitely have them this week, but they absolutely refused to do that. So now I need to shut the laptop back down and remove the BT card because I don't like the idea of it just dangling in there not being screwed down.
Anyway, thats my experience. My first attempt at an upgrade to my Studio 15 (1537). Next will be a back-lit keyboard, when the finances are not so ... strained After that, maybe a bluetooth keyboard if I can find a decent one that isn't like a bajillion dollars
Mouse works without bluetooth software installed, but not all of it's functions.
Install blutooth software and the mouse gets found, but when it pairs nothing happens and I can't see anyway to disable the paraphrase key.
I am looking for a Bluetooth mouse for my MBP.
There is Apple Magic Mouse, but I am still not sure on its ease and usability. Even though I need it for my notebook I dont want the very small notebook mice, since I will be attaching my MBP to external monitor most of the times, a desktop Bluetooth mouse would be preferred.
I noticed this problem with my studio 1537, I usually use a external bluetooth mouse at home, but I don't bring it to school. When I do use the mouse I disable the mouse touchpad.
However the problem is that if i kept the mouse on and connected and allow the laptop to sleep, when I turn it on the next day at school I don't have mine external mouse with me and the touchpad is still disabled, which I thought it would have automatically enable itself since it doesn't detect an external mouse.
I was just wondering if anyone does this and might have already figured out a way to solve the problem. So far the only way I can fix this problem at school without using external mouse is to restart the laptop all over after I wake it up from sleep first.
I've had this problem for quite a while. I'm unable to register Microsoft mice with the bluetooth on my Latitude D630.
I originally thought it was the mouse I purchased ... but the mouse worked fine when I used the bluetooth adapter that it shipped with.
I recently purchased a MS Presenter Mouse 8000 and tried to register it with the bluetooth stack. Every time I try I get a "Registration Failed" message.
The software can see the mouse ... and I hear the standard "Registering hardware" chimes, but then I get the "Registration failed" message.
I'm running "Bluetooth Stack for Windows by Toshiba" version 4.31.02.6(D).
