Dell Inspiron N5050 :: Laptop Keeps Pasting Letter Q
Feb 9, 2013
Okay so my laptop keeps pasting rows of q's when I ever I go to type. You can also here a windows noise at the same time it is doing this. A couple months ago my laptop also had another problem. Where it would my the cursor by itself as I was typing. For example when if I was typing the word "about" the cursor would move and the word would be like "outab" like that moving the letters. It has stopped doing that but I don't know if it could be related to my current problem. I
I can't seem to log in to my laptop. I'm able to enter my password and then the welcome screen comes up whilst it loads but then the screen goes black and all I can see is the cursor. I'm still able to move the cursor so perhaps I am logged in but just unable to see my desktop?
I have a Inspirion N5050 laptop. A few weeks ago, it started running slow and Adchoices ads appeared. I removed them. I ran a scan using AVG, which detected nothing. I shut down the laptop as a precaution. Now it will not load Windows. I press the power button, the dell logo appears, then I hear what I think is the hard drive click, then the screen goes dark for a second, then the logo and a click and so on and so on. I am able to get to the menus with f2 and f12, what to do next. Safe mode will not respond ( I cannot get into it).
I have a Dell Inspiron N5050. The hard disc of the laptop makes little clicking sound, which can be heard only in silence or if you keep it close to your ear, but yeah it makes those sounds continuously. I bought it last year and I noticed this sound after like 4 months. I have the latest firmware update installed and also checked the hard disc for errors, but that isn't making any effect. It working completely fine. I use it moderately, some Ms office works and a sometimes games too, like about 6 hours a day. No hangs, No high temperature and nothing.
But since I've experienced trouble with the hard disc of a PC (which crashed within days after it started making sounds), i am a little tensed about it. Should i take it to a service center? will a hard disc format be useful. The sound is louder when the device is booting.
I am using windows 7 Home basic SP1 x64, the hard disc is ST 9500325AS 500GB, 2GB RAM.
I bought a new dell inspiron n5050 around 5 months back !!!! it is not starting!!! the dell logo is coming and again it is repeating the same thing !!! i installed xp in the laptop so it is working !!! Earlier i used windows 7 ultimate!!!! But when again installed win 7 it had been installed but again i am facing same problem!!! i have tried change all in boot options but im facing same problem !!! The dell logo is visible again and again but no result!!!
My Recovery E: Folder is full -- 31.9MB free of 14.6GB - Windows Vista. I keep getting pop ups/messages saying that my E: folder is almost full, and occasionally that I should close my internet browser so I don't lose information.
Some of them discussions said to go into the E: folder and delete files which should be there (can't access it the folder -- there's only a warning message) or to change the Drive Letter (get a message that says it cannot remove "the letter drive of your volume", and now I'm not sure what I should do next.
i couldn't able the laptop to Turn it on, it was functioning well up to last night.
Referring to the forum i tried by removing battery and pressing the power on button for 30 seconds in-order to discharge it and then connected again to power supply but couldn't make it ON ,
My Dell Inspiron N5050 laptop was working fine. I got home and tried to power it on but got nothing so I figured it needed charged. I plugged the a/c adapter in and pressed the power button and still nothing? I tried removing the battery and trying to power it on with and without the a/c adapter. The only light it has lit is the charging light when its plugged in. Not even any sounds or the fan.
I have upgraded my Win 7 operating system to Win 8.1. on my Dell Inspiron NS5050. All other components remain the same. The first deals with the USB Port. I insert a USB and it is not recognized. I open Device Manager and in Properties uninstall the the Driver and reboot. The USB now works correctly. Why does this keep happening? Tried to update Driver but comes back device is up to date. When USB fails I get message, "Windows has stopped this device because it has reported problems. (Code 43)".
Second Issue. Monitor won't start after any updates. After several times starting and restarting, I connected to an external monitor. External monitor starts and I can Log In. Computer functions normally with external monitor. Device Manager one time showed an error with the monitor. I deleted the driver and the original monitor worked correctly. Other times with a simple "Windows Defender" update monitor won't start. Using external monitor works every time. Additional monitor switching sometimes works other times not. Not sure what is wrong with the F1 key. Turns on and off monitor?
When booting my Dell Inspiron N5050 it goes to dell screen and ithe dell logo and loading line dont move at all for atleast 5 seconds then it goes to a black screen with a blinking white line then after that it pulls something up saying restart and insert proper boot media and it pull something saying something is using the same patterns then it says whole bunch of numbers. when doing a diagnostic it says theres one or more errors and theres a red x on my hardrive.
cant run launch diagnostic download. Today when I opened laptop from "hibernate" I got a blue screen that said "windows crash dump". My security is updated and running. Doesn't look like anything has happened. Who do I contact for this?
Dell Inspiron N5050 crashed and upon boot, I got this black screen. Upon seeing this, I did a diagnostics test. I did both a thorough and quick test and got this message showing that the hard drive didn't exist. I'm wondering if there's anything I can do to fix this or do I need to replace the hard drive?
If left unattended or not used for a period of several hours my Dell Inspiron N5050 automatically hibernates. How can I disable this function so the laptop remains on until I elect to hibernate or shut down?,
Additionally I receive a pop-up message about the screen resolution of my attached Dell LED monitor as being too low and urges me to upgrade the resolution to 1080. How do I upgrade?
This computer is 6 months old. It came with Windows 7, and I did install Windows 8 in October 2012. I have had problems ever since and neither Dell nor Microsoft can support. ANYWAY, until today, my DVD/CD player worked just fine. I used it every few days, but today when I went to use it, the door would not open. I notice the light next to the Open button is not lit up, but my device manager says it is in working order and the driver is updated.
I tried Ejecting from the device manager, but it does not work. When I ran the Dell Diagnostics program, it said that it was unable to run the diagnostics when there is media in the drive or the door is open. There is a game disc in the drive, and the game works, but I think it is downloaded onto the computer, so maybe does not use the disc during play?? How can the drive work and not the door? Is there anything I can do??
I have a dell Inspiron n5050. It was a hand down from my dad who hardly used, only used it for check his work schedule. Well it was working for years and then I was playing games like league of legend, sims etc. It never shut down till I maybe late 2014. I would turn it on, everything is all good, I can log in. But maybe 5-10 maybe more minutes of being on, it goes black or a message comes up saying "the instruction at referenced memory at could not be written " I don't know what is happening or what I done wrong. I can't get a new laptop or anything due to money issues at the moment.
Getting an 8 beep, beep code error, but can't seem to find the beep code table for this specific Dell that identifies that many beeps.Already removed and replaced the RAM, they looked fine.
I have a Dell Inspiron N5050 that unfortunately shuts down on its own or fails to respond when it goes to sleep mode. This doesn't happen every time it goes to sleep but it still happens quite frequently. When it shuts down on it's own, it displays a "Windows Did Not Shut Down Properly" message once it is turned back on. It very rarely displayed a Blue Screen of Death that mentioned something about drivers but this hasn't popped up in a while.
I've been in contact with a Dell representative for about a week now, having him call me every day to remote control my laptop and try something new. He updated all of the drivers he could find (I previously did this but he decided to go ahead and re-download them anyways), updated the BIOS (again, tried that already on my own), ran all sorts of diagnostic tools (the only one that he ran that I hadn't already run was the WinDbg X86 program), changed sleep settings (tried that on my own too), had me scan the entire computer for about 3 hours to check for hardware issues (It was one of the options under the F12 key when the computer first boots up and it came up clean), and yesterday he set up a new user account and had me use that for a day to see if the problems were linked to my profile (didn't even think about that one). It's actually caused the problem to occur more frequently to be quite honest. Today was especially bad, as the computer crashed 9 times and ended up deleting the newly created profile on its own in an attempt to repair itself.
My friend has a brand new Dell Inspiron N5050 that's having issues connecting to their Comcast Arris TG862G/CT router. The OS (Windows 7) 'see's' the WiFi network and when we try connecting to the WiFi network it prompts for the password - all as expected. But once its 'connected', although it has an IP the system cannot route anywhere. I cannot ping the gateway (the router), cannot perform nslookups, cannot HTTP to the router's IP etc.
WiFi for sure has been enabled via FN+F2 combination - tried toggling WiFi on & off - no change..Checked for updated drivers on the Dell website; re-downloaded the driver package from Dell - no change.Updated BIOS from A04 to A05 - no chnge..Checked for Windows updates system was already fully updated & patched - no change.I can successfully connect to my phone's WiFi HotSpot - device routes just fine.Other machines & devices can connect to the WiFi network without issue - seems unique to this N5050 machine.Ethernet connections on this N5050 work just fine
I'm not sure what else to do other than trying to revert to an older driver or checking the Intel site for drivers for the WiFi NIC. Comast say its a Windows update that broke it
I have russian system (Windows 7 SP1 with all updates on Inspiron N5050) and corresponding Dell software (on russian), but I'll try to describe options, like they be on english. You should to determine appropriate, corresponding to english analogues.
In the battery settings there is one checkbox, like "disable battery charge", with description, pointing to battery charge disabling until next Windows boot. So, if I check that checkbox, then...
Which EXACTLY system event(s) or situation(s) (the most comprehensive list) triggers the charger back to charge the battery, because "next Windows boot" is too unclear. For example, what about hibernate mode? Precisely, returning from it is not the Windows boot! In which moment of boot that trigger changes? Which system event(s) (application and/or hardware) generates initial command for it, what chain of devices and software calls involved (and can or can't be involved in different situations), how much time approximately consumes each chain link, and mention all affecting hardware settings and Windows settings.
My Inspiron N5050 no longer boots up, not even in safe mode or "last known good configuration." Decided to reinstall the Operating System, but need to know whether I have 32 bit or 64 bit.Have all the originbal documentation, including system specifications, but cannot tell whether my laptop is 32 bit or 64 bit.How to determine if you can't boot up the system?
Recently replaced the CMOS battery ourselves after getting the 5 beeps. Put everything back together but a couple of screws were loose and came out. Regardless the computer booted up fine and worked for a week. Yesterday it would not power on, at all. Unscrewed everything, opened it up, found some loose connections and tightened up, then replaced missing screws, seemed that they were tight and not spinning in place. Computer powered on fine. Next day, computer powers on again. Then, after a brief power down, it won't come on. AGAIN. Opened everything back up and saw the hard drive was loose so tightened that up via external screw. Put back together and made sure all connections were tight and re-screwed. Still will not power on.
At first it was win 7 and all the things worked fine. But after upgrading to win 8, wifi bulb is always lighting..i can on/off wifi from the key board.but light is not getting off. it always lighting from the boot time to shutting down..hep me..i updated all the drivers but nothing worked.
I recently purchased my laptop about 3 months ago and had no problem with it. But when I went to go turn it on one morning it started beeping 7 long beeps. I did some research and found out that it is a problem with my processor. How do I fix this problem? Or will I need to return it to the place I bought it? I have some important stuff on my hard drive that I wish to keep if possible.
I have ignored the issue as long as I can but I am too often losing my current state when I hibernate my pc.The screen powers down which makes me think that the hibernation is happening as normal. However I still see the HDD power light remaining active for say 10 minutes.
The computer then throws a blue screen of death and then powers down. When I reboot I get the message Windows did not shutdown successfully. Windows will ask me to upload the crash dump file to Microsoft but I never get any kind of feedback. This process is quite frustrating.
My wireless adapter needs to be constantly reset. My wireless constantly goes out, at least every 10 minutes or LESS and it has to reset the adapter. It's VERY annoying! I've already updated all the drivers and even tried re-installing the adapter.Bluetooth is NOT on.
