I have a problem with my laptop dell inspiron n5110. I can not change desktop background in Windows 7.I click compositions but it is only a black background, even as I choose different background.

View 4 Replies View RelatedSome times when I completely turn off my MacBook and turn it back on I loose my desktop images (I have them changing every 30 minutes) and the screen is just a soft blue. When I double tap and go to change desktop background, it is still pointed to the right folder and all the setting are right so I dunno what is happening.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI have my destop wallpaper/background set to change every 30 minutes, pulling from the entire picture library (which is a few gigabytes). I have noticed that every now and then...say, maybe 10-20% of the time. The desktop background goes completely black after the switch. This happens whether the switch is set to Auto or I manually flip the switch (which makes sense, actually).
The only thing that restores the picture to view is logging off and back on. None of the following have any impact or cause the picture to display:Right-clicking on the desktop and selecting.....
When I turn my computer on, it is fine. then I log in, and then everything goes wrong.
I have NO DESKTOP! the background is black, and "my documents" comes up.

I have a Ferrari One netbook.
The default desktop background is the ferrari car with a calender.
When I go to change the desk top (right click, personalise, select a new theme eg window aero) and reboot the computer it starts up again in the Ferrari scheme! Any ideas?
for some reason the window to select all the different themes DOES NOT have an 'Ok' and 'Cancel' button on the bottom right? That's weird!
My HP Probook 450 is with Windows 7 and the combination FN + F9/F10 is not working. The other FN keys seem to be in order, but I can't change the brightness of the desktop directly with the FN keys.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI received the Dell N5110 laptop without OS today. Strangely package also didn't contain any disc with drivers. When I installed Windows 7 as usually it didn't recognize many devices. Ethernet controller was among those devices, so I couldn't connect to the internet and use Windows Update to find the drivers. Using my mobile phone as a modem and Windows Update I managed to get Ethernet Controller, so now at least can connect to the internet directly. But Windows Update doesn't find drivers for rest of the devices as it did for my ASUS notebook. Drivers and Download Support section for this notebook also isn't very useful, there are basically no drivers at all... So how am I supposed to find them? So annoying.. Dell, is it that hard to list relevant drivers in the downloads?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI bought a Dell Inspiron N5110 last year. I created two more partitions on my hard drive. Now I want to restore my windows to factory settings, but I cannot go through the restore process.
I am quite sure that the restore partition is physically on the hard drive, but maybe because of creating new partition it cannot find the drive, or the restore program looks to wrong partition. How can I recover with the current conditions.
I've upgrated to Win 8 and the Intel WiDi program isn't working. I downloaded all the latest drivers and tried to install it again but didn't work. At the end of the installation process hangs and all I see on the screen - this is the logo in the center of the screen, a few words at the bottom and five frozen in one position points that previously ran in a circle.

The only way I can connect is to uninstall all of the updates. The icons on my desktop also stopped working. When I click on them, it goes right back to desktop. Can't pin them to the taskbar either. The ones on the taskbar won't open by clicking on them either. Have to right click and tell it to open. Also problem getting my Norton anti-virus to open. Says it working but can't open it.

After it is completed it freezes for a moment before loading the blue screen where the desktop icons would normally load. Except they don't. It freezes on the blue background screen. I have an Inspiron Windows-8 (pro) laptop, that I purchased on 3/23/13. One strange issue I've noticed, is when I'm in a Windows-8 app (i.e. Mail), I'll start to move the cursor (via the touch-pad) to perform an action (like delete), and then all of a sudden, I'm "switched" into Desktop mode. Sometimes the OS flips back and forth between the app and whatever I was on previously (usually the Desktop). Is this a
1) keyboard issue,
2) a touch-pad issue,
3) a Dell issue (defect, or driver issue), or
4) a Windows-8 issue, or
5) something I'm not aware of?
It doesn't happen all the time, but is frustrating when it does. I usually have to close the app, go back to the Windows "metro" screen, and re-launch the app.

I think that this feature is really nice in Windows 7 how you are able to split two different windows evenly on the desktop by just dragging each window to the left and right side.
With that being said, are there any programs/apps out there that can mimic this feature for Mac? Specifically the latest OS Snow Leopard?
TwoUp was program capable of doing this but has been discontinued.
Any fellow Mac NBRers know any others?
