View 14 Replies View RelatedSome times when I completely turn off my MacBook and turn it back on I loose my desktop images (I have them changing every 30 minutes) and the screen is just a soft blue. When I double tap and go to change desktop background, it is still pointed to the right folder and all the setting are right so I dunno what is happening.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI have my destop wallpaper/background set to change every 30 minutes, pulling from the entire picture library (which is a few gigabytes). I have noticed that every now and then...say, maybe 10-20% of the time. The desktop background goes completely black after the switch. This happens whether the switch is set to Auto or I manually flip the switch (which makes sense, actually).
The only thing that restores the picture to view is logging off and back on. None of the following have any impact or cause the picture to display:Right-clicking on the desktop and selecting.....
Here's a pic of mine, the still photo doesn't do it justice, using the Deskscapes liquid wallpaper along with a custom Envy Beats background with Objectdesktop. Water drops cause the beats logo to ripple, I think it compliments my black Envy Beats paintjob.
View 10 Replies View RelatedI have an Acer Aspire 5360 with a screen problem. There is a thick stripe of the screen on the right hand side that does not show the desktop. I have changed the display settings resolution, reinstalled the intel chipset driver which I updated on the intel site. Reinstalled the OS XP, reset the bios to defaults etc.

I have NO DESKTOP! the background is black, and "my documents" comes up.
going into desktop off of my documents and selecting internet explorer. also I have no start menu or task bar?
I have the Pavilion g7-2235dx with Windows 8.1 operating system. Nearly every automatic update messes up my ability to get on the internet. The only way I can connect is to uninstall all of the updates. The icons on my desktop also stopped working. When I click on them, it goes right back to desktop. Can't pin them to the taskbar either. The ones on the taskbar won't open by clicking on them either. Have to right click and tell it to open. Also problem getting my Norton anti-virus to open. Says it working but can't open it.

I have a photo on my desktop which i would like to be et as my background image and when i right click and select 'set as background image' it does not appear, the background just stays at blank. However when i tap the windows symbol on the keyboard (which takes us to the tiles) the desktop tile has my background image i selected. But when i click the desktop tile it does not come up.
Also when i go into the control panel, and then under the 'Appearance and Personalization' label, there is the 'Change destop background'. When i click this and select my image, and then click save changes it does not appear.
Also under the same 'Appearance and Personalization' label, when i click the 'change the theme' button, it says the image i selected is set to my desktop background, but it isnt. The background on my desktop is still blank. (blank black).
below is what my background looks like (even when an image is set) ....
I have an issue with my 1810tz, Win7 64bit. There are these annoying buzzing noises when I use headphones over audio out. They are corresponding with the CPU load, when the CPU is idling they are louder and constant when the CPU is working they change the buzzing rhythmic but are not gone. I cant really they if they are there too over the build in speakers there is this buzzing sound sometimes, but I guess its the hdd in this case.
Disabling the audio btw does not mute this buzzing noises too. I had this issue maybe 8 years ago on my first desktop with integrated Realtek audio chip, so I guess its a driver issue or bad manufacturing like bad shielding or such. Im using latest Realtek audio drivers.
Few weeks ago I brought the WD blue 640GB, and lately swapped it out and put the old Hard drive back in because the WD was making too much noises. AFter I putting the old one back in here, the OS X starts running at the temperature of 56-58 degree C. The CPU is also running something such that it's used percentage is jumping around 10% and 20 % constantly. I start using it right now, and the upper left corner is getting warmer without running any significant job.

My system is lenovo Z50-70. Should i have to replace the screen??
When I watch a video clip, I experienced my X1 screen automatically got dimm when background gets dark. So it became even more darker and I cannot see anything. But it gets back to bright when background gets light.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI've had the W530 for two years and there is an issue when turning on the laptop. I haven't contact Lenovo's warranty yet.
When I press the power button, frequently it shows the Thinkpad white logo against black background and won't load. Windows at all. It just stuck there.
I have already restore the system but the problem is still there.
Oddly, when it does work (which is rare), the "to interrupt normal startup, press enter" appears. Everytime it works, that phrase would appears.
The only components I have connected to this laptop are ethernet cable for internet, USB hub, and external drive hooked up through PC slot on the side.
Laptop Spec:
Windows 7 Professional with latest update
Intel Core i7 3720QM 2.6HGHZ

I opened up my m1730 last night, hoping to find the PLL. Turns out that I don't know what it looks like.

I have an M90 and it was good for the first two years and about 7 months ago it started to heat even when I wasn't playing games.
A lot of times it would shut off by itself. I now realize that it might be the dust bunnies that needed cleaning.
Thank you dell for pointing that out(sarcasm).... Now my lappy will only show the windows sign on bootup and go black after that.
Is my motherboard out also or just my graphics card? I'm hoping that I can put in a 7900gs after seeing the prices for a fx2500m .....
I am selling my 7800gtx that i have in the 9300 now and putting the ATI x300 back in. Well when i did the screen has a max resolution of 1280x800. I tried deleting the lcd and x300 then re installing both but its the same. I reformated the laptop and loaded the Dell x300 driver and still 1280x800 resolution.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI always put my laptop on standby and turn it off only when required. Today 4 hours after I left it on standby, I could wake him up from standby but could not see anything on screen which worked and all operating system sounds could be heard, hard drive worked as well. I tried powering it off and on, entering BIOS but I still could not see display. Here's a link to YouTube video that portrays what I see:

I later saw information here on how to access ePSA testing environment so I followed the steps: removed battery, plugged off power supply, pressed Power Button for 1 minute to drain power, held Fn key and powered laptop on until I heard funny sounds. This was ePSA probably but I still could not see anything on screen:

If I am not mistaken, my laptop was running on dedicated nVidia graphics card. What should I do now? Luckily I have customer on-site warranty still valid, but I am looking for a faster way to solve problem. Who knows, but it may be a mere problem of cable got lose which is in my abilities to fix.
I own a Dell XPS M1730, that is our of warranty.
Recently, my CD Drive failed to read CD's. So, I removed the drive and took the model number off of it and searched the internet for a new drive (since Dell does not sell them). I bought it, received it and installed. It turns on, opens up and the light is on.
Now, I want to reformat my computer but the system is not reading the drive even though it appears to be on. It does not show up in Device Manager, and when I go to the Boot Menu it tells my that it cannot read the device in the modular drive. Yes, the module drive is enabled in Bios.
Is there anything I can do to remedy this or am I forced to send my laptop back to Dell again for repairs (Because that is getting old, and if that is the case then it just going to become a brick to me).
I have a Latitude E6410 with SD card reader. I can see the card reader in device management but the sd card will not apper as a drive in Windows 7. I tried the sd card on a colleagues laptop (exactly same spec and OS installation) and it works instantly.

The laptop was purchased on the 5th of Jan 2014 but the online warranty check states that the warranty has expired. How do I get this laptop back to HP for repair as the website seems not to offer this as an option and there is no contact telephone number or email address. The lady who owns this Laptop, Elaine is using it for an Adult Learning Course in basic computer literacy.
