Dell :: Did Someone Already Ordered The Studio XPS 13 ?
Jan 13, 2009I was on my way to buy a Sony Vaio Z or Samsung Q310 but couldn't found the model I wanted with a belgian keyboard.
Now I see the Studio XPS 13 is available on the dell belgian website but of course there are no review yet.

Sep 13, 2009I ordered the 14z about a week ago and I dont remember them offering a free Windows 7 update. I guess I assumed it was included. I went to the website a few minutes ago and I see that its in red as an offer.
Do you think if I call Dell and tell them I want the upgrade or I will just cancel my order and reorder they will give it to me? Its seems silly for them to stop production of my laptop just for a free O.S. upgrade.

Aug 5, 2009I ordered a "previously ordered new" Latitude E6400 from the Dell Outlet a few days ago. Got a pretty decent price of $560 after using a 15% off e-coupon.
Mine is fairly basic as far as the E6400 line-up goes, e.g. no fingerprint reader, no backlit keyboard, no Bluetooth, etc. I'd use this strictly as my personal laptop, and I was looking for something with XP and a matte screen anyway.
It has a Core 2 Duo P8400, 160 GB HD, 2 GB DDR2 RAM, 24x CD-RW/DVD drive, Intel GMA 4500 MHD video, WXGA matte screen, and the Dell 1397 802.11 b/g internal wireless card.
Hopefully I'm just overreacting, but I've come across some owner reviews on CNet, Amazon, Dell.com, etc. about E6400s having overheating problems, issues with Dell's ControlPoint (?)
software, the pseudo brushed metal exterior surfaces collecting fingerprints and skin oil way too easily,
Dell :: Anyone Ordered A Vostro 1320/1520/1720 Yet?
Apr 25, 2009I'm anxious to see how the new models compared to their predecessors. I've always liked the Vostro models and recommend them quite often in lieu of budget "retail" models.
They have decent build quality, look nice and they often go on-sale for dirt cheap!
The new models look promising. I hope that they are at least as good as the 1310/1510/2510/1710 that they're replacing. I'd also love to see the 1320 with a 13.3" LED-backlit display like the one on the Lenovo ThinkPad SL300!

Sep 29, 2009My lappy hung up and I switched it off.Next day, when i switched it on, after the BIOS screen , nothing happened.Just a blank screen.
Running diagnostics I got the following error
"2000-0146"
After googling. I found that It meant a hard disc failure.
I also ran linux to grab some important file but it said that
"Improper shutdown,ntfs drive in use etc .....

Mar 4, 2010i just bought s dell 1525, got it for a nice 40 quid, has some cosmetic damage, the plastic is cracked, ordered new plastic for it cheap.
now looking at a cpu upgrade, not thinking anything fancy just a 2ghz core 2 duo.
the celeron is so slow its killing me.
i can get both models of cpu for about the same price, what would u guys recoment out of :
*t6400 , 2ghz , 2mb cache
*t7300,2ghz , 4mb cache
Dell :: Inspiron 1525 Won't Boot
Jan 10, 2010My cousin has an Inspiron 1525 laptop which has had an issue of booting. Randomly one day she received the following message, "Internal hard drive not found. Reseat hard drive". It also said from below "Boot to CD by pressing any key" that the "BOOTMGR is not found".
I received the laptop in this state. I booted from the CD (Windows install disc) and was able to reinstall Vista. I then updated all the drivers and had everything working like a charm. I thought I had hit jackpot with an easy reformat. After about 4 hours of having it running perfectly, as I was installing Windows updates, I received the "Internal hard drive not found. Reseat hard drive" message. Now I cannot boot into Windows and booting from the CD no longer works.
Here are some of the specs:
T2390 Dual Core 1.86Ghz
2GB RAM
160GB SATA HDD
Is the hard drive dying? Is it the SATA controller? The motherboard? Anyone have any ideas or past experiences?

Mar 10, 2010I have a Dell Inspiron 1525. The 6-cell battery that came with it stopped holding its charge, so I bought a new 9-cell battery. Now that one won't hold a charge. I figured it must be the cord, so I bought a new one. It still won't hold a charge. When I run my mouse over the battery icon, it says XX% (currently 37%) available (plugged in, not charging). I know just enough about computers to be dangerous, but not enough to figure out what is wrong. Can anyone help me trouble shoot?

Sep 26, 2008The mute touch sensitive button on mine keeps lighting up blue and mutes my sound on it's own often.. I think I could possibly fix it myself as Dell already sent me a replacement laptop which had a scratch on the screen that bugs me even more than the media button problem...
