I just ordered an M4400 from the outlet, and in the Accessories page during the order there was no option to buy a DisplayPort to XXX Adapter for $15 like there is when you are buying a new one...
I figured it wouldn't be a big deal to find one after the fact, but now that I'm looking the only DisplayPort to HDMI Adapter Dell has to order is $59.99 !! Any ideas one where to get one closer to $15?
Yoga S1 output audio through the mini HDMI port? Â I see it listed as a possible output in "sound", but it just says "not connected". Â Not sure if it is my TV, my laptop, or the HDMI to mini HDMI cable I'm using.
I have a g7-2246nr laptop with an AMD Radeon HD 7520 discrete class graphics card. The processor is an AMD A6-4400M. I am running WIndows 8.1 64 bit.  I would like to record video from a DSLR's HDMI output to the laptop. Does the laptop support this?
I got a HP laptop, running windows 7 x64 bit Ultimate, and has 8 GB of ram. My tv is crappy now, and want to play my ps3, so, i was wondering if i can plug into my Laptop and get a certain driver that makes the HDMI port act as a input so i can play through my laptop screen, my resolution can go a little over 720p .....
I bought this computer which is running 7win64 to update my T60 which I use with my home TV, a samsung digital running at 1360x768 resolution. The computer's native resolution is 1920x1080. I bought an hdmi adapter for the displayport from lenovo when I ordered the computer. Initially, the display works and at first it ran long enough to get everything set for a nice crisp display that fits the screen perfectly. The sound is there too, and is passed on to my receiver by the TV. Very nice. But then it begins to blink off until it doesn't work at all (the sound is cut off too). Lately it won't stay on long enough to review settings.
All updates are in place, both from microsoft and from lenovo. This has Intel 4600 graphics built in, and intel has graphics drivers available, but won't install them because of the lenovo supplied drivers.
I can't get any support from lenovo support because another device is involved.
I read online of some early users who had this problem with a docking station and i guess the problem was resolved with an updated driver.
When I plug my M4400 into my TV via DisplayPort->HMDI, the video and audio play fine on the tv.. However the video and audio also continue to play on the laptop. The video is no big deal-
I can lower the lid, or point it in a different direction. But the doubling of the audio through the laptop speakers is a serious pain .....
I know there are users who have been able to get sound out of their E6400s over Displayport, but all the users i have heard from and read about this from have had integrated intel video. Are there any E6400 with nVidia quadro nvs160 users that have successfully gotten digital audio out through the displayport using a displayport --> HDMI cable?
I bought a miniDisplay Port to HDMI and 3 HDMI Cables and a HDMI splitter from seller mambate on eBay. Surprisingly it was all really good quality, the audio works well, I wish I had a surround sound system to test it on but I use optical audio for HT. So my Hanns G 28 Monitor is really the only thing I could test it on, and it works.
The Splitter comes wit a remote too which I thought was cool.
This is my MBP13 and he Hanns G
Funny side note, the MBP quicktime plays better 1080p vids on the HannsG dont know why. either way plex is the best program for videos.
I wanted to go today and get an adapter for my Lenovo Thinkpad T430 and first I thought I should do some research. This is how I found out that most of the Thinkpads do not send audio over DP, as I would have expected.   I have the T430 (no discrete graphics, just the integrated one) and Mini Dock Series 3 with USB 3.0 (EU1) docking station. The laptop has mini-DP and the docking has a normal DP. The normal DP works fine  with my monitor, but it doesn't have any speakers in it , so can't test the audio part.   I checked in Audio properties in Windows (7 x64) and I don't see the video card there, so I am assuming it is not supported. I don't want to buy adapters if the laptop is unable to send audio over a DP-> HDMI adapter.
I have a HP Notebook 2000, with Windows 8.1. At some point, the hdmi output to monitor stopped sending an audio signal. The video signal is fine.
It is labeled in Device Manager: 1-STD HDMI TV (AMD High Definition Audio) Â The monitor and hdmi cable work fine with other computers. I have disabled/enabled the HDMI device, and also updated drivers (Windows says my drivers are up to date).
Does the Helix's Mini Displayport support audio output? Â Since this is not mentioned specifically on the Lenovo Specs Sheet, was wondering if any Helix owners have successfully connected the MDP to HDMI with clear audio?
After upgrade to 8.1 HDMI port didn't work.  Followed instructions to correct BIOS and graphice driver; HDMI works - however Silverlight no longer working with DMS.  Get error 6036 in Silverlight which is Graphics device's driver certificate is invalid  Have checked graphics driver and is all up to date  Machine is HP Pavilion 11 x2 Graphics driver version 10.18.10.3366
HP ENVY 15-j165 hdmi output problem - tv recognised in video and audio setup BUT external screen blank .... Â It even mentions the SONY-TV in the output settings (audio and video) but there is nothing on my tv, just a blank screen .... Â I have tried re-installing drivers, getting frustrated ....
I recently got a dell M4400 and large external dell monitor. I purchased the e-port replicator. I should be able to dock my laptop and use an external monitor and keyboard/mouse.
I can do that, but when I shut my laptop, the whole thing shuts down. Is this correct? I know I've used docking stations in the past and didn't have to have the laptop open. If I do, what is the point of the docking station?
The E-Port replicator had pretty much no documentation. Also, when I dock my laptop, shouldn't it see the docking station?
I have a Dell Inspiron 1525 with an HDMI port. While the port was hooked to my AV receiver, I hit a few buttons on the receiver and somehow disabled the HDMI port on the Dell.
I cannot figure out how to reactivate the HDMI port. I know this is what happened--cable, receiver, balance of computer is all fine. Somehow, the received "talked" to the Dell and turned off or disabled the HDMI port or its driver, is my best guess.
Anyone else's HDMI port break on them? I barely used it.. I've had the XPS M1530 since late March/early April but when I tried to hook up my surround sound today it did not work. I tried using different cables, different port on the receiver, and tried directly with my HDTV but my computer does nothing. I updated the audio drivers and flashed the bios, but no luck. Pretty sure HDMI port broke. What a piece of garbage.
After my lid randomly cracking when I closed it less than a month ago and now this.. I can see how this computer will definitely break by the time my 3 yr warranty ends. Good job, Dell. Could they even replace the HDMI port on the machine or would they have to put in an entire new motherboard?
I have a Dell M4400 with nVidia 770 and I also have a Dell 3007WFP which supports 2560x1600 native resolution. Does anyone know if the M4400 will support this resolution if I dock it to an E-Port Replicator and use the DVI output of the docking station to the 3007WFP? When I looked at the Dell manual for the E-Port Replicator (and also the Plus) it didn't say if the DVI output supports dual-link.
At work I use M4400 that is docked to E-Port Plus replicator. If I start the laptop while docked, everything works great.
When I undock the laptop (while still running) everything is still fine. Although sometimes the laptop lid need to be opened and closed twice for the display output to show up on the laptop screen.
The real problem occurs when I redock the laptop (while still running) to the E-Port Plus replicator. Most of the time, the display output does not transfer to my external monitor (22" Dell monitor). The laptop appears to be locked up, and I need to reboot the computer
I have heard numerous comments stating that individuals are only getting Stereo Sound from their HDMI port but then other comments explaining that yes, indeed, it supports Dolby Digital....5.1 Audio etc.
The HDMI port is 1.2 which allows for a PCM 8 audio stream signal.
I have a receiver that allows for internal 7.1/5.1 Audio streams (all of the latest codecs can be decoded and processed) with HDMI output/input connections.
Will I be able to send a 5.1 PCM Audio stream to my AV Receiver and thereby utilizing the full range of audio?
i recently bought a vantex nexstar 3 external hard drive with the option of usb and e-sata. The problem i am having is with e-sata. The e-sata is the prefered method of exchanging information dur to its speed rather than usb.
I would like to know from the community in large if there is anyone who has experienced these problems or has connected an external to their m4400 laptop.
The external laptop has a seagate 7200 rpm FFS(free fall sensor) inside.
The problems: 1) When connecting the exHD to the laptop for the first time the HD spins (i can feel it) but then stops. Windows does not pick it up as well as Intel Matrix Storage manager. Only when i restart the laptop still with the exHD connect does windows pick it up as well as Intel Matrix Storage manager.
I did in both cases check to see if the exHD needs more power and it is sufficient.
2)Another issue is that i have windows reporting to me that an external hard drive has been connect to my system even though i havn't plugged it in .....
My HDMI port does not work. Â I have a N7010, 17R. Â I tried downloading other drivers but nothing seems to work. Is there a way to tell is it's a mother board issue or driver issue?
She has been using the HDMI port to connect an external monitor at home, but now it's not working anymore.
I tried to use different cable on different monitor, and they seem to have the same problem, it' displayed " no signal" and the laptop can't detect the display also.
I am thinking on purchasing a SP2309W for my M4400 but i don't know if it will fit the E-Port Replicator Plus with the E-Monitor Flat Panel Stand
what I would like to know is if anyone knows if it fits the stand (the monitor is VESA compatible?) and if the 4400 will support the max resolution of the monitor (2048 x 1152) and if I need special cables for this.
Bought a 5920G yesterday, when I plug the hdmi cable into the HDMI out port on my laptop into my HDTV it simply makes my laptop screen go blank and the tv (set to HDMI channel) does not pick anything up andjust says 'no signal'
I have the 5920G version with the Ati 5920G graphics, VGA works fine but out of principal im determined to get the HDMI working,
I'm trying to connect my dv7t with the geforce 9600m to my hdtv via hdmi but the tv isn't picking up the signal. With my old dv9000, it recognized it right away and I didnt have to do anything. I can't check my control panel when I connect it because the laptop screen goes off and nothing else happens. I have dox's latest customized drivers if that matters.
No Second Screen displayed while using HDMI port on Inspiron 1464 Laptop. I am trying to connecting my Samsung Plasma TV with HDMI to Inspiron 1464 Laptop  but no second screen displayed....
