Dell Mini 1012 :: Error Beeps / Alarm Before Windows Comes Up
Feb 25, 2013When my 1012 is booting there is an alarm (beeping) before Windows comes up. Not a few beeps, but probably 50-100. What is this and how can it be mutted?

May 16, 2014I have that laptop for about 4 months, today for some reason i went playing Maxpayne 3 and while in game, few minutes later the PC starts to BEEP like alarm clock without stopping, I cant see any heating problems, the GPU's are on 67C no more.
The main problem is that i cant see any messages from WIndows about any issues on the system
I have just checked with FURMARK - when the GPU1 goes to 80C its starts beeping - is it supposed to be like that?

Apr 8, 2010I am having trouble using the Wireless 365 BlueTooth card. I bought it from Ebay. I installed it fine.
I downloaded the driver R226746 from Dell and that installed fine as well. But I cannot open the bluetooth settings and when I try to add any devices to computer, it just stays searching and does not find any of my devices
Dell Inspiron Mini 1012 :: Won't Boot Up Or Start
Jan 8, 2013In mid November 2012 my laptop Inspiron Midi 1012 (with window 7 starter) suddenly stopped booting up.
I press the power button and I get the Dell Inspiron page & loading bar where I can also select F2 for set up & F12 for boot options or simply wait for boot up
Another page will appear (if I just wait at the Dell Inspiron logo page with loading bar) saying windows did not shut down succesfully. If this was due to the system not responding, or if the system was shut down.... & ask me to select booting option between safe mode, safe mode with networking, safe mode prompt or start windows normally.
I tried selecting every mode but to no notable result the only things that happens is that the Microsoft Corporation logo appears with a loading bar for 2-3 seconds then the screen will turn back and only my white arrow will be visible on the screen. At this time, no keys & short cut keys will work. The light of my computer is till on, I can still see some luminosity on the black screen. I can move the arrow around on my screen. The black screen won't change if I let it be for minutes or hours, no windows will pop up if I put a usb memory stick or plug my external cd/dvd player in the usb outlet.
I tried to use a usb transfer cable between my tower pc & my laptop Inspiron Mini but it doesn't work since windows doesn't boot on my laptop.
I tried F12 (boot option) when my computer start & selected diagnostic but there is no error detected (in short & long diagnostic, test memory, test system). I also tried the other booting options but to no avail (hard drive, network, ...).

Not only does the wifi not work, the Ethernet cable wont work also. and it says im connected to a public network but with limited access. what should i do?

Aug 9, 2011My sister has an Inspiron Mini 1012 Netbook (Windows 7 starter etc etc) and I need to action a Factory Reset.
My issue is, there doesn't appear to be any option for F8 when the netbook boots up.
I've googled the issue & it appears many people have had this issue.
I've tried the simple F8 & F10 options, along with FN + F8 &/or F10, Ctrl +F8 &/or F10 etc etc.
I'm at my wits end with this now as it doesn't appear to enter the recovery option with any of these functions.
There is definitely a recovery partition to the netbook, and the most annoying thing of all.......
I actually managed to restore to factory settings on this netbook no more than 6 months ago!!!

Mar 6, 2013I have a Inspiron Mini 1012. I created the restore factory image on a usb through the Dell DataSafe local backup program that it came with. Had no problem installing it. But when I turn on computer and boot into the usb I get an all black screen with the following. BTW the laptop has no problem starting up regularly no issues at all. Will be selling and want to wipe the drive.

the drivers installed and everything has been working pretty well.
Just a few minutes ago..I heard what I believe was from my laptop
the 2 tone loud alarm that I have heard on other systems to indicate
a temperature problem.
Moving the laptop a few inches seemed to have stopped the
alarm but I am now worried about what is going on.
I can't imagine just having 64 bit Vista is making the system run
