I see there are options for Wireless Card choice, like Dell Wireless™ 1510 802.11a/g/n Draft Mini Card, Intel® WiFi Link 5100 802.11a/g/n Draft Mini Card, Intel® WiFi Link 5300 802.11a/g/n Draft Mini Card. So what's the main difference?
View 10 Replies View RelatedI have just ordered a new SXPS13 and was wondering about upgrading the wireless card. I noticed that the Intel 5300 was not compatible with the NVIDIA chipset. What about the 5100 or the 4965? Are there are any other wireless cards I can put in that would give me comparable, or at least improved, performance?
View 10 Replies View RelatedI have the m1530 with the iwl 4965, I have another card, dell (Broadcomm) 1390 mini card.
I was wondering if I can install the other one alongside my 4965? If I am not mistaken, there are more antennas to use.
I have an issue, as some might have read with my wireless NIC that might be faulty. I had a old wireless card from my i9300 somewhere,
but I can't seem to locate it. What is the best wireless card I can buy for this laptop? I know back in the day it was the Atheros chipset that was the good one for the i9300. Is it still the same with the e1705s? If so, what was the exact chip?
My sound does NOT work with the internal built in speakers. It only works if I plug in head phones and/or use external speakers.
I'm thinking a connection may have come loose some where, so the laptop always thinks that some sort of headset/speaker is plugged into the laptop. With that being said .....

Dell Wireless 1397 Mini Card (802.11 b/g) [Included in Price]
Intel WiFi Link 5300 Half Mini Card (802.11 a/g/n) [add € 44.82 or €3/month1]
No idea what either one means to be honest. I'm guessing the Intel is superior range or something? I want the best so please advise!
Would I see a boost in performance, if I went online and bought an Intel Wifi 5300 card and switched out the current default one?
I have the studio 1537 with a Core 2 Duo p8400, would I notice any performance difference with my computer rockin the Centrino technology?

But I could not find the drivers your website (it only has drivers for windows 8).where I can get the drivers?
I am in the process of building a new del on the website, is has really been sometime since I did this and there seems to be alot of new technology that i am not familier with...
the first one is the graphics card.. i have 4 options...
Mobile Intel® Graphics Media Accelerator X4500HD With Express Card
Mobile Intel® Integrated Graphics Media Accelerator X4500HD with PC-Card
NVIDIA Quadro NVS 160M, 256MB With Express Card
NVIDIA Quadro NVS 160M, 256MB With PC-Card
i would assume that the following cards have different perfomances, but what is the difference between a Express card and a PC card... and what is the better one to have?
And what card would be better for some gaming.. "i am a command and conquer addict"...
I uninstalled the drivers for my 5530 card, but will like to install them again. The drivers are not on my dell dvd that shpiied with my computer, but found this file on dell's site: DELL_WIRELESS-5530-HSPA-MINI_A02_R197332.
When I install that file, the instalation process aborts.. - i tried restart, disable my card (it's liste in device manger with missing drivers), and ran CClean once - no luck.

the wireless driver on the Dell website does NOT work. Googling this problem leads me to believe that I am not the only one with it.
However I have not seen anyone with a solution; most people are just linked to the Dell website and the Dell driver, which doesn't work at all.
I have a Sony Vaio N130G that has the original drivers for the wireless card.
Is there a way to get something like PROset/Wireless software to work on my model?
Or anything that helps get a better signal than the standard software/drivers?

As said, my laptop's model number is dv6-6c13nr. My laptop's Windows 7 was FUBAR from a computer virus that my sister managed to get on it somehow. I just DBANed the entire hard drive and did a clean install of Windows 7. Everything was able install just fine except for the wireless adapter/driver.
Â
I tried both the Broadcom Wireless LAN Driver and the Ralink 802.11 b/g/n WiFi Adapter linked in my PC model's driver page. On both of them, whenever I click on the downloaded file, nothing happens after the file unpacks, no installers run. I've tried running it regularly and running it as an administrator, I've also tried running the installers directly from where they were unpacked into the C drive, regularly and as an administrator.
Â
All of the other drivers and software on my PC model's driver page installed just fine aside from the wireless, it's the only thing, and the most important thing, that I can't seem to get to work. The version of Windows 7 that shipped with the PC was Windows 7 Home Premium, the version that I have and that I installed is Windows 7 Ultimate. Are the drivers not Ultimate compatible?
Â
I've also considered installing earlier versions of the drivers, but I can't find legacy versions anywhere that doesn't look sketchy.
