Dell 1537. Vista 64 bit- all MS updates. Device Manager is perfect.
When I insert a 4 GB SD Card - nothing. (It's always been this way)
Everything else on the laptop works very well.
I am above average geeky - but all drivers appear correct
My Laptop model is: Dell Inspiron 15R. It has Intel HD 4000 and AMD 7670M Graphic Card, but only Intel HD 4000 card is detected when I scan for configuration in URL... This means AMD graphic card will not be used during game play ? what should I do to make the AMD card will be detected when we scan for configuration.
View 15 Replies View RelatedMy laptop doesn't detect my ethernet card, so when I plug a cable in, only the yellow light at the top left of the port flashes, whereas the green light at the top right of the port does not light up. I get no signal at all. In Network Connections it shows that I only have a Wireless Connection and not LAN. Device Manager shows 3 Unknown Devices, however when I downloaded my Atheros driver from Acer's website the driver said that my hardware could not be found.

View 9 Replies View RelatedI've installed Photoshop CS4 11.0.1 on my Macbook Pro (15", 2.8Ghz, nVidia 9600M GT), but under Preferences>Performance, the GPU Settings section is greyed out with the message: "Graphics hardware acceleration is unavailable. You will need to upgrade your video driver and possibly your video card."
I have tried re-installing Photoshop, trashing preference files etc. But the problem still exists. I can't find anything on the web about the 9600M GT or the 9400M not being recognised by Phothop CS4, so what could be causing this?
all of a sudden my ONBOARD SOUND CARD is not detected.
all i see is an X mark on the speaker icon.
i cant really pinpoint the culprit but i do remembering doing the latest updates (this is a windows 7 ultimate system btw) and installing WINXP as a VM.
the SOUND BUTTON seems to be stuck. it just stays lit and i cant turn it off.
what i have done so far:
- tried to install vista drivers from hp.com, but obviously am unable to install it since its a win7 system. link to a win7 64 bit driver for a CONEXANT HIGH DEFINITION AUDIO 221.
- tried to do a system restore but fails.
- tried having win7 detect what the problem is and i come with a .reg file which supposedly contains the audio settings but i am unable to install it..
I upgraded to windows 8.1 from store on my HP Envy DV6 7206tx and now, i am have problem with drivers for video and wireless cards. Both of them are not detected... checked in the windows device manager in video drivers Intel HD 4000 is detected and dedicated Nvidia card is not detected, it say "Microsofts Basic Display Adapter" instead.I just installed RaLink's Drivers from HP site got my wireless card working yet with problems like frequent disconnects and slow speed. When are the update from HP for all drivers expected for windows 8.1 ?
View 9 Replies View RelatedI'm working on this Acer Aspire AS7520-5311 laptop, on Vista 32, with a NVIDIA GeForce 8400M. Trying to tweak some graphic settings last night somehow I guess I deleted the video drivers for the nvidia card. I went into the device manager and deleted all of the display drivers. When it rebooted it tried to install it again. For some odd reason, it installed a "Standard VGA adaptor". So my desktop resolution is back to the former settings but any remotely graphic demanding programs will not run. I've went to Acer's website and nvidias website and cannot find the exact NVIDIA GeForce 8400M driver. I've tried everything listed under the model number on acer's website and it will install, reboot, but when comes back up. It still only shows the same standard vga adaptor.
This did not come with a restore disk for some odd reason!
Now before I just blame Vista, transfer all of my data, erase it, and then put XP on it.
I'm sure If I could somehow find the correct driver for the video card it would help.
i installed win 7(64bit) on 15d 103tx laptop...but i cudnt find the graphics card now...i have searched it via running dxdiag command in run and checking display adapters in device manager(there's only one adapter there-"standard vga graphics adapter").it was told that this machine has nvidia geforce 2gb graphics card dedicated.

About a week ago I had to do a full restore from the restoration discs HP had sent me, something was causing Windows Explorer to be incredibly unstable and I couldnt even make a set of backup discs...
BUT thats not the problem, after the installation, I realized that my laptop no longer detects the built it fingerprint reader and memory card slots... I figured, ok maybe I just need to go back and manually install the drivers... So I did from the HP website and still nothing worked... So I contacted HP support and naturally they gave me the links to the exact same pages I got the drivers off of, then they had me update my BIOS... still nothing... then they had me reinstall my fingerprint reader software... Still nothing... So then they told me to just send it into them under warrenty to have it fixed, except I'm a full time student and I depend on my laptop.
I have a X1 Carbon with Sierra EM7345 WWAN modem. It is all installed perfectly - drivers etc. But id does not recognize the SIM card. I have googled a bit and I can say that:
1) I have the drivers OK, I have the WWAN network adapter etc.
2) I have inserted the SIM card correctly
The SIM card works perferctly if I use the USB 3G stick instead. So the problem is not in the SIM card. I think there is some configuraiton of the Sierra modem which should be done - to switch to 3G/2G or something.
I've got an E1505 here. The battery lasted less than a year, and then I replaced it with a brand new battery.
This has been in there for at most a month now. The past two days I have had an interesting situation going on. The computer is running Vista Home Premium, and it's running on AC.
The battery seems to be working fine. It's detected fine, the PC runs off of the battery, and it charges as well. It's not set to suspend, hibernate, or anything like that at any time; these features are all deactivated because I am never in a situation to use them .....
My Dell is a couple of months out of warranty. Suddenly my laptop stopped booting up and Dell diagnostics tell me "error code 2000-0141 - drive not detected". I purchased a new drive from Dell and nothing changed so I returned the drive. I bought a new motherboard (using my original processor and memory) and nothing changed. From other forums I saw a suggestion that I experiment with the boot sequence which I did which let the laptop start up normally a couple of times and then back to the same error. Since replacement of the hard drive and motherboard leaves little else to replace (other than the processor and memory) I am at a loss what else to try.

I don't think I can see the hard drive in the bios either, but I don't know the bios a lot, maybe I'm not looking at the correct place.
My bios has "IRRT" for the "Sata Operation" section, I run Windows XP that has been installed with the sata drivers slipped on the installation disk.
i decided this was a good place to ask since the cd came with my system. like titles says i open program says no drive detected. well i know the drive is there. i have put a blank dvd there and started writing with dvd + rw dvds. well it doesnt let me erase with out roxio. so how do i fix the roxio problem. i heard of the PX engine i downloaded it and i got a message that said
"unable to write the current directory, this installation file needs to be able to read/write the current directory,. please change the premissions for the directory to move the installer to a location that has the proper read/write permissions"

My HDD model is Seagate ST9250421ASG and when i attempt to check it with seatool it says no controller was found.
I preform Dell Diagnostic and no problem were found.
I don't have specific problem with my drive performance; but why SeaTool and firmware update utility don't detect my HDD?
I just installed Windows 7 on my XPS M1210 but for some odd reason Its only detecting one Core.

My grandpa gave me his old insprion 1000 and i wiped it clean and reinstalled windows xp on it. i was hoping to use this computer for my music (itunes, syncing ipods ect.)
but the speakers will not work. i go into the control panel and under the sounds and devices it says that there is no audio device.
i know that this computer has speakers build in and i can see them on the front on the computer. Also when i try and plus external speakers in it doesn't detect them either.

My battery is charging and dischaging also but still the notification is shown there. I cannot see the status of how much power is left or if the battery is fully charged or not.

I have an Inspiron 5520, with Win 7 Home premium 64 bit and an external Western Digital HDD My passport Essential SE (3.0). The laptop is fairly new, I purchased it last June. From first day it seemed that something was wrong with the connection with the hdd. In case I was even touching the cable of the hdd it was disconnecting for example, and since yesterday it doesn't detect it at all!
The light of the hdd goes on, and I can feel it working, but I get no beep sound on my computer, I dont see the drive on device manager, and in general its nowhere!
I tried the hdd in all four USB ports and nothing. The drive has no problem on other computers (with OS Vista and Win 7). My mouse works perfectly on all four usb ports.I updated the drivers for BIOS and chipset, I run pc check up. I checked both laptop and drive with antivirus and antispyware programs. I reinstalled the driver from WD website.
I have Dell Inspiron 15 series 7000 laptop and I wanted to perform "Dell Backup & Recovery" task. I have tried connecting My Passport 1 TB external HDD to get back backup. I get "USB Key not detected" message on all the USB ports that I have tried. I have changed the cord also but of no avail. But when connect my 4GB USB pen drive, I do get success. ive been using a Dell Inspiron 15R 5521 for about 20 months now. Uptil a month back the laptop was working fine. Then it suddenly it has stopped detecting the battery. Once in a while it detects but then goes off again. I had taken it to a Dell store where they tried replacing the battery as the diagnostics showed a battery problem, but changing the battery also did not work. Is the problem related to Windows 8.1 upgrade?

I was trying to install a new SSD in place of my old HDD. But after I installed the SSD, there is no detection in BIOS. The old HDD works fine. I don't know how to solve this issue. Is it related to the firmware of my SSD? I got this SSD from a friend, it was installed on a server before.
I have a DELL XPS L502X with recently its hard disk not getting detected a week ago... With some movement or so ... It finally detected .. Actions Taken: Mopped up quickly and let Laptop dry out.
Initially Laptop booted and I managed to email 2 important documents to myself (must be more religious with my backups).
Laptop started making a whirring noise (Hard disk problem?)
Keyboard "interesting" and will need replacing
Rebooted laptop and get to Blue Boot Menu
Perform Diagnostics and get the warning (!) No Hard Drive Detected - all other tests (including memory) PASS
Have tried booting from my restore disc - but, unsurprisingly no Hard Drive Detected
Have removed Hard Drive and carefully and gently cleaned with cotton cloth
Replaced - same problem
Have tried Hard Disk in second HDD slot - same problem.
My plan is to buy a new Hard Disk (along with a Key Board)....
I have a dell inspiron 1545 and my battery is not being detected. I tried uninstalling and re installing the ACPI drivers but it didn't work. This is really getting on my nerves I've bought two batteries trying to get this to work. Every computer I have ever bought from dell has given me problems. Suffice to say this problem is the straw that broke the camels back and I will never be buying another product from dell or conducting business with them in any form.
