I am currently using Dell Vostro 1440 and I am facing a problem with Internal Mic. My internal mic having some issues with the audio as it unable to hear my voice while I am sitting straight and everytime time I try to say something through internal mic while using Google Hangouts and all that I have to bring my mouth closer to the mic to say anything!!

Recently I bought a new charger for my laptop as the old one got damaged and now when I'm charging the laptop the touch pad is not working properly. It is slow and sometimes I can't select items with the touch pad. So I changed the charger and when I checked in the shop the touch pad with new charger (the second one) was working fine. But when I went home again the same problem with the touch pad when charging only. When I remove the charger it works fine. And I also tried with a friends charger (but another dell model) and it works fine. And now my laptop battery indicator is blinking red three times. That also happens when charging only.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI need to get inside my vostro 1440 to replace the wireles card, but I can't figure out how to remove the keyboard.The user manual at URL.. says to "Pry up to release the top four snaps securing the keyboard to the computer."
what does "pry up" mean?I think I shoud be lifting up something metallic (the keyboard frame) not the flimsy pastic that surrounds the keys right? do I need to do all 4 snaps at once? when I push with a screwdriver I can't feel which way it's supposed to give and don't want to damage the laptop
I recently installed Windows 7 on my Vostro 1510. Audio works great but the internal mic does not seem to work or be detected in Windows 7.
How can I fix it or/and reinstall the drivers?
Im trying to record some audio using my new Vostro 1510 but I can't seem to select the internal microphone and it allows me use the 3.5mm plug with a external microphone.
I think the microphone is left to the webcam
But there is no selection in the Sound settings.
Tried in Skype, WLM, etc. It worked fine in Vista basic. I upgraded to ultimate and it doesnt work .....
I just realized that both the new Inspiron 14 and Studio 14z are numbered as the "1440". Usually Dell avoids duplicating the model number- Inspiron 1525, Studio 1535, Inspiron 1545, Studio 1555, etc.

To start off, I did the recharge and discharge method and after that, when I disconnected the AC-Power, it only shows the "Total Battery Charge 100%" but the primary, it doesn't say anything. Plus, when it was unplugged, it stays at 100%. Few minutes later, it will drop to 7% and the Battery LED will flash orange to tell me that the battery is low.
And my Battery health is good, but why is Windows 7 not detecting the battery charge properly??

View 4 Replies View RelatedMy uncle bought a Aspire E1-572-6870 series notebook six months before for me from USA. After using 10 to 15 days I noticed the internal speaker is not working. But the headphone and/or microphone is working very fine. I went to a local laptop repairing shop for diagnosis. Unfortunately they were unable to find out the actual problem. They suggest me to change the speaker chip may result solve the problem. Before changing the chip I want to diagnose once more for accuracy about the problem. Any online check can be possible?

I have a Dell E1505 running XP. The headphone jack works but the internal computer speakers do not. Here's what I know:
(1) it's not the speakers. I've swapped an identical set of working speakers.
(2) it doesn't appear to be a software or driver problem. My settings look identical to those of another E1505, and I have tried re-installing drivers several times.
I've got a Dell XPS 1640. My internal speakers don't work with itunes and most other applications. However, when I ran the Dell diagnostics, sound was produced. Dell tech support told me that its a software problem because there was sound in the diagnostic test.
They checked the drivers etc which are current and recommended that I reformat back to factory settings which is a major hassle. I'm running Vista 64 bit, but do have a Windows 7 update disk which I haven't installed yet. They told me that installing the Windows 7 update wouldn't fix the problem. I have a XPS 17 (L702X) laptop and recently updated the OS system to window 8. I haven't had any problems until I went to burn a dvd. The HL-DT-ST-DVDRWBD CT30N now say it is a cd drive only and can not burn dvds. I have never had this problem before. I tried updating the driver through the control panel and it says the driver is up to date. It also shows no restore points in which I can go back to when it was working properly.

I have Windows 7 Ultimate x64, and for some reason, on the Pavilion g7-2320dx, and I have both a USB keyboard and mouse.the only port that the keyboard/mouse works in is the one by the charger (I think it is usb 3).Before I downgraded, I used the USB ports on the left for the Mouse, and the one on the right for the Keyboard.I know there has to be a driver for it somewhere.

Basically, here's what happens:
1. I press the button to turn on my laptop
2. Everything seems to work fine
3. sometimes windows properly startsup and after 5-10min my laptop unexpectedly turns off???

I have an HP DV9930US, and the internal/built-in microphone (actually, I think there are suppose to be two, surrounding the webcam at the top of the display) is not working. When I try it, I get no input, e.g., with Sound Recorder, I just get "noise".
I've tried this with the original Vista Home Premium 64-bit, Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit, and Windows 2003 (I multi-boot), and I've tried every possible driver (including both the ones from HP and the direct Realtek ones) and setting that I can find, but no success ...
I haven't had a need for using the mic, so I don't think that I had tried it when I originally got the laptop, so I don't know if it ever worked...
I've partially disassembled the laptop, and confirmed that the microphone connector that goes from the display to the small (~1" x 1") board is properly connected. I haven't opened up the display bezel to check what's going on there.
Also, if I plug an external microphone into the jack at the front of the laptop, that does work.
Does anyone have a DV9930US, or something in the same series, and if so, does your internal microphone work? Did you have to do something "special" to get it to work?

I have installed bluetooth driver properly eventhough bluetooth is not working.. its not visible and also i cant send any files from my laptop throgh bluetooth.. When I lift my fingers off the touchpad, it jumps to the bottom of the page. This is very frustrating as I have to scroll back up to find my place. This happens with Chrome, Word, IE, Firefox, everything.

I’m testing some E4200s (with SED SSDs and regular SSDs) and have run into a possible bug with the HDD password “bypass” option in the BIOS. The “bypass” option in BIOS allows you to specify if the HDD password needs to be entered during warm boots (restarts), standby, etc. I’ve set it to “disable”, which means that the HDD password must always be entered (even for restarts). However, the E4200 does *not* prompt for the HDD password during warm boots (restarts). It correctly prompts for the HDD password during cold boots and standby/hibernate only. I’ve tried upgrading the BIOS to the latest version (A13 to A20), but that didn’t work.
At this point I think it's a bug in the BIOS. I've tried this with different e4200 laptops and different drives (regular SSDs, and self-encrypting SSDs).
i have an acer 9303WSMi. i was watching a video on youtube, but the sound wasnt working properly. so i restarted my computer, and when it began to turn back on, the screen remained blank, and it made 1 long beep sound, followed by 2 short ones. i have looked this up and it apparently means that it has a problem with my graphics card. now i have 2 quesions. firstly, can my lapotop be fixed by me? secondly if not can it be fixed if i send it off to someone, and iof so roughly how long will it take for it to be fixed and returned to me?
