Aug 7, 2014When i open my Dell XPS 12 and turn it on the physical keyboard not the touch screen keyboard does not work all it does is make a clicking sound im not sure why.

I have two problems.
1. My Apple wireless keyboard does not work.
2. My wireless keyboard does not work when I plug it into my macbook.

Feb 5, 2013I had a motherboard put in not long after I got it in 2007. Then the screen started going blue and saying it was dumping files. If anything is plugged into the USB ports it will not boot right and starts a constant beep. Lately it has been freezing up and the keyboard will not always work. Now when I try to turn it on nothing comes up on the screen while the bluetooth light comes on and the lights on the keyboard flash once. I have called tech numerous times and with it being out of warranty they want to charge $60 just for a phone diagnosis when it won't even do anything.

Aug 4, 2009I've bene playing a game (tf2) on my laptop, and 3 times now its turned off, just straight up turned off, and so I turned it back on, and then the keyboard didn't work no matter what I did.
So I called dell and they said some sort of static built up in the keyboard, and to take out battery, and wall plug, and hold power for 15 seconds, and then turn comp on. I did that and it restored my keyboard to full use.
But now twice since then my comp has shut down, and I've had to use that technique to restore it...
This laptop is only 2 weeks old, ? Why is it having problems a mere 2 weeks after I got it.
I mean I'm not even typeing fast enough to make a static charge, in game you only use a couple buttons. Also i'm on tile floors, no carpet at all, I use my laptop on a table although it does get hot.

Feb 19, 2009just wondering if anyone has tried this-- I know the studio just came out, but it looks like the keyboard is the same size as the xps 1330-- and on the 1330, the keyboard just pops out.

Nov 8, 2014Sometimes when I boot up my Dell XPS 12 laptop the keyboard doesn't work correctly. Certain keys don't type letters, sorta like the CTRL key or Windows key is stuck down. I have tried a lot of different things (pressing various keys, checking system logs, check keyboard status, etc.) and the only thing that works is to reboot the laptop. Most of the time this fixes the problem, but it is annoying to have to reboot when this happens. I have upgraded the drivers to the latest versions available on the Dell website.

For example: if i'm holding the space bar, my mouse jams and no matter what i'm doing to the mouse pad, I can't move the mouse for as long as I hold a button. Nov 15, 2014So, I've had this problem from some time now. When I put my switch 10 to sleep, and then re-open it, the keyboard is not working anymore, like it has problem recharging drivers. Same issue happens sometime when I use it in tablet mode and then reconnect the dock to it, I've a very hard time trying to make the keyboard and touchpad working again. The fact is that the usb port on the dock doesn't seem to have any problem at all, only the touchpad and the keyboad. I can't figure out if that's a software or an hardware problem.

Someone suggested to that I should download and install the latest Intel HD Graphics Driver for Windows 7 from the support page [URL] ... but after the installation ended a pop up on my screen said that my Laptop doesn't have the minimum requirements for this driver! so who come it's in the drivers section for this model?

Lenovo T400 / T500 :: T410 - CTRL Key Does Not Work After BIOS Update To 1.45 (German Keyboard)
Aug 4, 2014I updated the BIOS of my TP T410 (2522), German keyboard, to 1.45. After the update both CTRL keys do not work any more. The same for AltGr. When I activate the FN CTRL switch in BIOS the FN key - as supposed - works like the CTRL key. But when I deactivate it again the FN gets back to its proper function and CTRL does not work.
When I connect an external keyboard via USB it works perfectly. How to get the CRTL key working again?
