Hi everyone,

Dell Inspiron M5010 , Win 8 64 bit
Intel Core i7 3630QM CPU @ 2.40GHzÂ
Installed memory: 8.00 GB
Nvidia GeForce GT 650MÂ Driver version 9.18.13.1422 Graphic Driver 314.22Â PhysX System Software 9.12.1031Â Nvidia update 1.12.12
Getting an error message:
Nvidia Display Settings are not available
You are not currently using a display attached to a Nvidia GPU.
Have updated drivers, BIOS. have tried to reinstall drivers. Still having the same problem.
I have Inspiron 9300. Unfortunately, my geforce 6800 died and I bought as a replacement x300 which was installed by a laptop repair service (they fixed other thins too.
It was due to power surge). Everything works but when I boot up the computer or when the display is set to be turned off in the power settings in Windows instead of being actually turned off the display is on and is all white.
Also brightness regulation does not work via Fn +arrows keys and is set to maximum and the white color is so intense that I get a headache after a couple of hours staring at the screen.
Who's running Win7 and what system do you have? any issues with any of the drivers like fingerprint to webcam?
View 10 Replies View RelatedI was getting ready to trash my d430. It was running XP and my SSD was so slow, painfully slow boot up, outlook loads, you name it.
I decided to try w7 and now it feels like a new computer. Boots up very quickly and my SSD is now running very fast, no hangups. Maybe it just needed an annual format and reload
I couldn't get a SDHC card to work with XP, nothing over 2gb. I tried an 8gb sdhc card and it also works. I'm going to get a 32gb class 6 card, I'll keep my fingers crossed that it works, and I will have 64gb of storage.
I think I'll hold onto this notebooks for awhile longer.
I loaded Windows 7 onto a Dell Inspiron 1100 and learned the hard way
that I need a WDDM (Windows Display Driver Model) compatible driver
to gain screen clarity. Currently, I can't navigate to a place to even select
correct screen resolution for a 14" LCD (it's 1400 x 1050) I beleive.
At any rate, there's a pulldown menu to select Dell drivers here-

QUESTION:
Which driver(s) are the anser?
Sorry for overload of questions recently. I ordered an XPS16 ( ) and I am waiting for it to get delivered.
1) Where do I go exactly to apply for the upgrade for windows7?
2) Do I apply AFTER the laptop is delivered or can I apply for it now?
3) After I filled out the respective application, Dell sends me the Software whenever windows7 comes out?
4) I see some posts in threads stating that users with xps16 are using Vista and/or Windows7 and/or XP. Windows7 is not even out yet... how are people doing that
I want to re-partition my HardDisk & install Windows 7 64-bit, on my Dell XPS 1530 (about 10 months old) which came with Vista 32-bit.
Please help me with a step-by-step guide. I haven’t experimented with any laptop yet & don’t want to screw my laptop .
Section - 1
My Laptop has only 2 visible partitions, but disk manager shows 4 partitions total as follows (in order):-
1.(Unnamed/invisible partition)86Mb - EISA Configuration
2.Recovery (D: ) NTFS file system 9.9 GB, primary partition
3.OS (C: ) NTFS file system163 GB system, boot, Pagefile, Active, Crash Dump ....
Just got it working, in my earlier attempts I tried all the latest W7 drivers from the Sony FTP site, but the latest sony utils don't seem to support the SZ2 anymore.
In the end all it took was using the 'old' vista drivers from the Europe VAIO support site:
http://support.vaio.sony.eu/computin...N-SZ2XP_C&os=7
Use the correct order:
- Sony Utils DLL
- Sony Shared Library
- VAIO Event Services
- Setting Utilities Services .....

i recently upgraded my acer 5536 laptop to win7 from vista via the upgrade disc i received after sending off to acer as i bought the laptop last october. i had previously made a vista recovery disc using the erecovery program built into my computer.
now i've upgraded i thought i would make a win7 recovery disc but i find that the built in acer software for doing this is now not on my system.
2 questions:
1. how can i burn a recovery dvd that i can boot from and reset my system to its first day as win 7.
2. if the above is not possible, what would happen if i tried to recover using my previous vista recovery disc. would it put my system back to vista or completely muck everything up?
Has anybody tried to install Windows7 on this machine?
I have the following model:
AMD Turion 64 X2 Dual Core TL-50 (1.6 Ghz,512KB L2)
15.4" WXGA wide CristalBrite
ATI X1300 128mb dedicated
2 GB DDR2 - 667Mhz
80 GB 5400rpm SATA HDD
There are no Windows7 drivers on Acer driver download page, but I've been told that I
could run this system, just to install it and that it will download and install needed drivers itself!
I'm unable to play the MP3 songs thru windows media player in Windows7 and I'm using Dell Vostro 1500, while trying to play the songs its giving error message as "server execution is failed"

View 6 Replies View Relatedtoday I bought a Acer Travelmate B115 (M41 RQ).
I has a rudimentary Linux installed, which I want to delete and then install a Windows7 Prof SP1 64bit from DVD.
After changing the order of the boot devices and putting the USB-DVD drive first the Travelmate tries to boot from the DVD but then tells me 'Security Boot Error'. I tried it more than 10 times, same error each time. The external USB-DVD drive is working fine on another computer.
Â
I also prepared a bootable USB stick, but this one doesn't even get noticed by the Travelmate.
how to get Windows 7 on a Travelmate?
So this new Intel Rapid Storage supposedly images your Drive onto an external drive... Doesn't this accomplish the same thing as Windows7 backup utility?
View 7 Replies View RelatedI'm about to receive my very first MacBook, and I will be using BootCamp in order to have both Mac OSX and Windows7 on it at once.
I've always been one of the first one to jump right upon new driver releases etc.. I always keep my eyes open, watch Station-drivers.com every day and things like that.
Now there is one thing nagging me, where do I actually get Windows drivers for the MacBook Pro? Do I need to get Windows7 on it in order to run something like Everest to identify the hardware specifics?
Wont really be any problems with either the graphics card, CPU (turbo boost) or chipset as the MacBook uses the same HM55 (or PM55) chipset like every other i5 / i7 based notebook out there, same goes for the graphics card and the turbo boost feature of the CPU.
What I don't know is where to figure what drivers to use for the iSight webcam, nor the touchpad? I don't even know what company who have manufactured them?
Is there some sort of drivers list for the MacBook Pro? Or do everyone just relay on the standard Windows7 drivers? (tend to hate those drivers, also like some up-to-date dedicated drivers right from the manufacture of the different pieces of hardware in the machine!)

My Dell 1505 wireless N card is a constant headache, If I hide my ssid the card detects and connects to my router but I can never access the internet. It may work sometimes but most of the time my SSID has to be on.
I have tested this with two different routers and the results were the same, vista shows local access only
.
I have tried using drivers from laptopvideo2go and reimaging the computer, I am now fed up and want to get a new wifi car
Just swapped out my e6400 with the nVidia 160M GC fro a 6400 with the Intel card (due to heat issues).
I tried just swapping the hard drives so that I wouldnt have to reinstall the OS.
Its not letting me start Windows.
I think the issue is that I dont have the drivers on my older HD for the new motherboard/GC.
I have a brand new M4400, running W7pro x64. The M4400 came with an internal SD card reader. Now this card reader cannot read some standard SD cards (other work fine). Especially,
I have a Transcend SD 4GB 133x (http://www.bestpriceaudiovideo.com/i...ard-detail.jpg) that is problematic.
When I put the card in the reader, W7 tells me to format the card. This I do not want to do, of course. If I open Disk Management, it takes ages to open, and eventually shows the card as "Unallocated".
I've been having problems with my video card. (M1710 with a 7950GTX card). The card was overheating and even after applying AS5 and cleaning the vents it was reaching around 100c in games. After about a year, i started to also get memory parity errors...
Long story short, i contacted dell and they mailed me a new mb and a new video card.
I just got it now, and i am going to open the rig and replace the video card.. I am just not sure about the mother board, should i replace it as well ?
The parts that dell sent are refurbished parts, and as i know that my m.board is working i am not sure whether i should replace it or not.
My main uses with be photo-editing (Photoshop) video watching, and light-to-moderate gaming. Will there be a noticeable difference if I make the jump to 512? Are the any games that are playable on the 512 that are completely unplayable on the 256 (ex. GTAIV)?

Anyone else having problems with DCP 1.3000 A12 (or something like that) on Vista x64?
Specs are in my sig.
Basically, after installing the newest DCP today, I lost control of screen brightness and the Auto-Light Sensor, meaning I can't change the brightness levels, NOR does the ALS affect brightness levels. I still have control of the keyboard backlight though.
After trying the 2 older DCP versions on Dell's site, the results were the same. The ALS version never changed.
Anyone using a remote control with their M6400 for music, video, or powerpoint talks?
Make/model?
Also, Touchpad Speed setting is never saved in the Touchpad Settings on my M6400.
I did a clean install of Win 7 Pro and now the IDT control panel has disappeared along with the system tray icon.
I tried reinstalling the drivers but haven't figured out a way to get it to come back. I know its bloat, but I liked having the extra control over the sound...
I have bought DELL XPS M1530 Q3 laptop, formatted and reinstal Vista Home Premium which is given.
But now, I can't use my remote control.
I have installed Thomson Remote Control Driver from dellsupport page.
But it doesn't work. What can u suggest.
10x a lot.
I bought a new 8935G and found that the card reader cannot read my 2GB H-Type xD card.
FDXGDFSGDFS
The camera I'm using it in does not show any problem.
GDFSGDFSG
I tried reinstalling reader driver.
GDSFGSF
I teste the reader with an old 16Mb xD card and this works.
FSGFSG
When I put the 2GB card in, Windows Vista says it has to be formatted; at this point the card is already unreadable in the camera and must be formatted againg there.
If I try to format on pc, the process stops at about 90% with an error.
