I bought a Dell SXPS at these specs:Core 2 Duo P9700 2,80 GHz4 GB DDR3 RAMATI 4670 1 GB320 GB HDDThe first thing I did was to fire up Team Fortress 2, of course! The first 30 mins of gameplay: Awesomeness, my best TF2 experience ever, amazing graphics, v-sync on, AA on 4x - simply amazing... but after these 30 wonderful mins I suddenly had some FPS lag, for 30 seconds, then back to normal for a bit, then lag again and so on... now what is this? I just ordered a Zalman NC2000 in hope of making the gameplay better and avoid these FPS drops. This has to be underclocking issues right? Can I achieve lower temps by undervolting my CPU/GPU?
I have an xps 16 and was wondering if I need a laptop cooler. I do play games but the most intensive one is probably Team Fortress 2.
When I do play it, the laptop does get pretty hot on the bottom with the fan running and everything. Besides that I pretty much use my computer for web surfing, word processing, and stuff like that.
I have a dell XPS M1330 and I am having some problems with some games, namely Team fortress 2 and COD5 world at war, both downloaded through steam.
I'm posting here because I had these games running before, but I have no idea how and I'm guessing someone must of had the same problem as me.
I am guessing both issues are due to the sound driver, as I can run TF2 perfectly with the -nosound command line switch, but without it the game just crashes during startup. I have tried all the nvidia video drivers from 163 to the latest, and tried all the sound drivers I can find but no difference ......
This laptop just went out of warranty when the lcd started growing vertical lines(have had 4 screens replaced under warranty for the same thing ) Should i fix it with a new screen and sell it or just part it out?
What is/are the part number(s) for the 16" 1080p RGBLED screen? My Dell order keeps getting some 1080p 15.6" WLED screen ... I'd like to use the part # and get the manager to fix it quickly. Also what is the part # for Bluetooth?
my work pc is a Dell inspiron 1520. it is mounted on Ram stand in my tow truck. the problem i am having is sometimes now when im driving down a bumpy road the backlight goes out.
to get it back on i either have to close the lid and open it, or shut it down and reboot.
i was thinking its the switch that tells the mother board that the lid is closed when its not. Is there any way to disable that switch so the backlight is on permantly
I cracked my dell studio 15 (1535) LCD screen , I have been looking for a replacement screen but I can’t seem to find one. Can they be purchased from dell?
I had a WLED 1440X900 screen and would like a LED back lit screen to replace it. I have checked several places including few sellers on ebay but they don’t seem to have one.
I have a Studio XPS 13 with the 256GB SSD option and absolutely love it.
My wife uses a Mac... one of the new 13" Macbook Pro's. It came with a 160GB 5400RPM drive but she needs more room and after seeing my XPS fly with the SSD she has decided that she just has to have an SSD.
Looking out on the Dell website I see that they sell the 256GB Dell branded SSD for under $500 which seems like a really good deal but I'm not sure if it will work in the MBP .....
I just ordered the XPS 1640 from the dell Outlet I need the part number for the 4X Slot Load Blu-ray Disc (BD) Burner
(Writes to DVD/CD/BD) so I can replace the dvdrw drive that came with the system.
Also just to play a game: Name the price you will pay for it.
Studio XPS 16 (1640) Laptop: Intel Core 2 Duo T9800 (6MB cache/2.93GHz/1066Mhz FSB) w/2.0MP Integrated Webcam 32BIT Operating System CD Operating System Label
Power DVD Software Dell Wireless 370 Bluetooth Module Intel WiFi Link 5300 802.11a/g/n Draft Mini Card .....
I have extended warranty so I called XPS support to replace it and they said no problem, but they would need the part number shipped w/ the XPS M1530 system.
If anyone has the part number from the bottom the the Dell Reinstall disk, or better yet, an SP2 disk, though I doubt they are shipping yet, I could sure use it. You can PM me or post it here..
I want to get it replaced b4 it goes out of warranty as I deleted my recovery partition...
Dell just upgraded my faulty 9500m mother board to the latest rev with the G 210M. Problem is the old heatsink and fan combo (part number U943D) will no longer fit as the screw post location has changed.
Images below reflect the changes. 1st 1340 w/9500m with dell part #U943D 2nd 1340 w/G210m (just cant read Part#) 3rd My mainbaord and fan the tech said would work (without a heatsink on gpu. Yeah I know.. )
If you look close the heatsink right under the fan (and fan is different too) is different on the right side as the screw moves up.
Can anyone with the G210m give me the part number of the fan and heatsink? Dell for the life of them cant figure it out and have sent the wrong parts 4 times already. Its really getting frustrating. Any and all part numbers or High detailed readable pictures would be greatly apreciated!!!
-= The part has been identified!! Dell Part#C755T =-. See post #11 for more info
Anyone, by chance, know the part number for the HDD bracket and plastic cap assembly for the M1330? This is bascially the assembly that goes around your HDD with the 'cap' on the end that mates up to the laptop case.
I've been looking on Dell's site for a bit (and ebay) and can't seem to find the part. I'd like to pick up a spare for my Win7 Drive I've been playing with, rather than swapping the HDD in and out of my existing frame.

Does anyone know what the part number for the Verizon 5720 card is for the 1340?.
I found this on Dell's website - verizon 5720..
But, the picture is for a sprint card so the P/N on screen is no help. I have been thinking about adding one from ebay or somewhere cheaper but want to make sure I get the right one...
I received two of the incorrect travellite modules from Dell so far and the third one seems a bit sketchy as it rattles around in the bay as if isn't quite tall enough. The part numbers don't match up with what I see on the accessories site either. The latest one I received (on the left) looks like the one for the E6400 and carries a sticker with 0M011C-38561-87M-05FT-A00 on it. The ones on the right which didn't fit had 0H022G-69400-88U-01C0-A00 on the sticker. Can anyone confirm if the one on the left is in fact the proper one for the E6500?

I've recently upgraded to a Quadro 2500m in my 9400. Sometimes after playing games for awhile it will freeze up for a second and then get really slow (sometimes staircase like lines will appear on the monitor). I doubt the 2500m is broken since it came in a sealed Dell box and my temps aren't too high, so I'm suspecting that the 130W adapter that I got off of eBay is not really up to it. I noticed that sometimes when it boots up it cannot recognize the adapter (Press F1 to continue, F2 for setup etc...) but other times it recognizes it as the 130W adapter fine.
I also noticed that that PA-13 that I have was made in 2004...isn't that way before any of the Inspiron 9400s came out?
So I'm wondering if anyone knows where to get a reputable 130/150W adapter and/or what the part numbers are that people have been using successfully.
I finally replaced the keyboard on my Latitude D800 - the spacebar stopped functioning. The new keyboard works fine, but I think I screwed up putting stuff back together.
The back plastic part that needed to come off (the thing with the power buttons, mute, and lights, etc.)
has a small bump in front of the four indicator lights around where the right screw is for the keyboard. I can't press it down more, thoug
I'm having trouble sourcing the screen assembly (the bezel or surround rather than the screen itself) for a Sony TZ series. Is there a site that can show me part numbers on a diagram..
I can't look at the machine in question until next week to find out the part numbers directly..
