View 3 RepliesEverytime I boot up the laptop, I get halted with the blue box asking me for the bios password.
I know this laptop is quite different and that even removing the cmos battery for like a day is not going to help. There is no 24xxx chip that I can short on the mobo.
Then I found SST39VF040 bios chip on the back of the mobo and also found a 93lc86 bios chip too .....

I have a friend whose father owned an Inspiron 15 - 3521 and died several months ago. Another friend of his tried to unlock the user password and somehow ended up screwing it up more, so now it boots asking for a BIOS password that no one has access too. He doesn't have the receipt for the computer, because his dead father was the owner but he does have the box. Its warranty is expired as well, but I was wondering if having the box was enough for Dell to generate a BIOS bypass or what other options are available.
View 1 Replies View Relatedgetting the password for a Dell N5110. A friend of mine was having display problems so we tried resetting factory defaults and now we are completely locked out of using the computer.I read on some previous posts of DELL users saying message me the details, with proof of ownership however the posts were a little dated, is this still a viable option, and in which case who do I need to message?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have an Dell Inspiron 6000 Laptop that has a Bios Password Set on it... and the password is not correct that we thought was the one for the laptop.... The password authentication system wont boot the laptop up until we enter the correct password... I have tried all the combinations that we thought the password is or was, but have not had any luck --- that being said the laptop is registered to me/ owned by me --- Can I provide the computer system tag -- that is shown on the screen and getting a reset password to overcome this obstacle.... The service tag is in my profile information and the computer system tag on the laptop bios password sign in screen is B*B*H*1-595B... I intentionally put the three * in the info, so I wouldn't compromise the service tag for my laptop for the world to see and use..

View 1 Replies View RelatedThis is an older laptop that I'm working on for a friend. She don't have enough money for tech support or anything like that. I went through the system to change the ownership to me, hoping that it would facilitate the process.
The only good thing is that I can still boot from a USB drive, though nothing I've tried from that angle works. The HDD is locked down, of course.

View 6 Replies View RelatedI have a Dell XPS L321X that currently has both an admin and system password set. I know these passwords, that is not the issue. The issue is that I would like to remove the system password but leave the BIOS password protected.

I've a Dell Latitude d630 Laptop and I want to change several BIOS characteristics (Boot device order, etc)
The laptop service Tag is <ADMIN NOTE: Service tag removed per privacy policy> and I had the admin PSW: oqzbww34
Last year my son changed the admin BIOS pw and now I can't change this parameters (I can enter at BIOS but can't unlock setup to change boot order, etc..); the old admin pwd doesn't work now
I've opened the laptop and disconnected de CMOS battery but this didn't work
Is there a master pwd to unlock bios setup or a jumper in motherboard to reset admin pw?
I bought aDell Latitude E6410 laptop yesterday and every time it turns on it says no boot or something. So I push the enter button and it resets. Then when it shows the dell logo again I press F12 and go to the boot sequence and its set on cd drive and not the internal HDD. So I choose to redo that all over again and then press boot from internal HDD and it works no problem but its a lot to go through just to start a laptop. How can I figure out how to change the admin password so I can set the boot sequence right.
