The print size in gmail is huge (about two words on the screen). When the laptop was new the problem was that the size of print in gmail was too small. I looked up the problem on the web and the solution was to push a certain key (like shift, ctrl or fn) and at the same time push the + key till the desired size was reached. I have been looking for the similar procedure to decrease the huge type size, to no avail.
I indent to get a dell studio 1537, but the shop where I want to buy it doesn't specify which kind of display it has.
Also their tech support is to dumb to get the info from anywhere else except their own page. (they provided a link to the 1555 model to get the resolution from there... duh).
My questions are, what resolutions are in the 1537 ? I want one with 1440x900 so, is there the posibility to get a 1280x800 one ? or all the 1537 and ATI 3450 come with at least 1440x900 .....
But I'm encountering a big problem, my display is weird (there is some green filter added) in addition Windows 8 does not completely (it stop after the blue logo).
I can see something if I boot on my Ubuntu USB. Even the boot logo have the green filter.
On the others side if I come back to the original disciple screen, all is well. So, at a first sight I think it is not a connector problem or a graphics card problem.
It's a Dell Studio 1555 with a ATI Mobility Radeon 4500....
my studio 1747 (not in warranty) (i7 win7),has stopped booting anymore it was working fine till last week ( occasionally my screen does flick in last coupon of month), So when I do turn my system on all upper volumn light flashes from left to right and then right to left and then system turn off itself, during that period screen show no display.
connecting external monitor (TV via hdmi) does work and system boots fine show display on external monitor but no display on system LCD. Something display flicks on external montor also, it happens when my laptop LCD tries to display something (i.e. sometime laptop LCD flicks and sometime it display for few seconds and then go back to Black screen). Also when connect external monitor my mouse pad stops work and sometime works when I connect usb mouse, but when LCD screen start display something, mouse pad also starts work.I tried all stuff, whatever I could find on internet as below Â
1) Taking battery off and press power button for 1 min.  2) Hold 'D' key and then press power button LCD sometime show some color and then goes back to black.  3) Removed battery and CMOS battery to total drain of charges.  4) Removed keyboard panel and checked LCD display cable and make sure its not loose.
To me it seems like motherboard, graphic card are fine as system is working on external monitor, LCD screen also looks fine as sometime is display and not greying out (its either Black-out or display). As I have also checked cable is properly attached with motherboard, so it can't be loose connection. Don't understand why LCD works sometime.
What type of screen is in a W530?  I have an FHD (I think) but when it comes to calibration I have the following options  CCFL Wide gaumet CCFL White LED Red LED OLED Plasma RG Phosphor
Today, I tried connecting an external display to my HP ENVY TouchSmart 15 laptop, via a USB hub, only to discover that using the touch screen points at the corresponding part of the external display rather than the inbuilt one (the displays are being extended). Can this be changed?  I'm using the same 64-bit Windows 8 installation and drivers that the computer came with.
for some reason the on screen display meter for my volume when pressing on the keyboard suddenly disappeared, I would like to get this back. I found this thread in the forum URL.... which another was having the same problem I'm having. The only difference is that I'm using HP Pavilion G7 with Windows 7.
Currently whenever I startup my laptop the display flickers. If windows fully boots or I try to enter one of the startup menus the will flash briefly on the screen and then the display will return to and remain black.  I am able to run an HDMI cable to my TV and it seems to be running fine other than going black with the occasional distorted picture of windows booting.
I updated the BIOS to 2.26 a while ago and ever since then there's no on-screen indication of caps lock on/off, screen brightness or volume when I change it. Since it seemed to be affected by BIOS, I updated again to 2.27 just now, but the problem persists. I needed to update the Hotkeys Feature Integration by downloading the utility thingy from this page. Probably wasn't a BIOS thing after all.
HP Dv7 1448dx Operating on Windows Vista Home Premium P/N-NV213UA#ABA Warranty is expired  HP laptop will turn on but no screen is displayed. I have tried hard resets and external displays to no avail as well as trying to connect it to an external monitor and my T.V. as well with an HDMI cord. When you push the power button the fan, hard-drive, Processor and LED lights all work. I have taken apart the laptop best I could without getting myself lost to check for faulty wiring and I couldn't find anything wrong or out of place. Nothing was loose at all.  How this happend is from what I hear they were watching a youtube video and the sound went haywire and their screen went completely white. They couldn't fix the screen or sound problem so they manually shutdown the computer by holding in the power button. When they went to turn it back on everything started up as far as internals go but the screen remained black and if you let it run for a period of time you do not here windows startup. I took out their hard-drive and tested it on my own computer and it works fine so I know its not the hard-drive. Their RAM and Processor are tightly in place and appear to have no damage done to them. I was not able to make it to the motherboard when I took this appart because I did not want to lose my place with the screws and connections.Â
HP 17t-2100 CTO screen is light, or lines, horizontal across screen.  LM125AV  How to remove the screen from the base of the notebook, and how to test cable, or LCD screen itself? Is replacing the LCD screen the correct option?  Running Win7 64bit
I am using a g6-1004tx model. Â This problem has been persistent for quite sometime now. Â After I boot up my laptop, there's a yellow solid screen which appears before the main starup page comes on. Â I have updated all the drivers, but the yellow screen is still appearing.
For the past few months I've had issues with my display on my laptop. Â At times I would start the computer and it would either go to a black screen and take a very long time to load or I had to restart it to get it to go to the start screen.
I m having an HP pavilion G62016-TX with Windows7 ultimate with 64 bit version,Purchased on Nov'2012.  Recently my PC crashed and when it was reinstalled with all drivers from HP FTP i am having below problems.  When i am adjusting my brightness , it is getting adjusted but the adjusting bar usually shown in the screen is missing.  When i am adjusting my sound , it is getting adjusted but the adjusting bar usually shown in the screen is missing.
I've had an XPS M1530 for about 1 1/2 years now and still love it.
My friend is planning to purchase a Studio 16 and has asked for some help configuring it.But,
I have no idea which display would be best for her. The reviews I've read all laud the Edge-to-Edge FullHD Widescreen 16.0 inch RGBLED LCD (1920x1080) which bumps the price up $200.
Now, if that results in fantastically crisper & clearer text it would be worth it to her
I'm not interested in a large resolution (I guess that 1280x800 is enough in a 15" screen) but it seems that the display with this resolution has a smaller view angle (especially vertical) than the 1400x900 display that maybe is not very good if you spend some time reading documents.
I have a client that's getting a 64gb SSD as part of his E6500. I advised him to go with aftermarket RAM and an X25m, but he wanted to stick with all Dell.
whether the optional WUXGA (1920x1200) display is an LCD or LED? I know the base/standard WXGA (1280x800) is an LCD and the WXGA+ (1440x900) is an LED, which explains why it's a $125 upgrade.
Long ago (A year ago lol) I bought the Gateway FX gaming notebook. It was a great PC and could not beat the price with the hardware and performance it offered, however the screen was really bad.
At first glance it wasn’t, 1080p res and good brightness level, but when I plugged in my old external LCD monitor to dual screen, I was floored. My 4 year old desktop LCD screen was almost better in every single way.
The Gateway’s colors were dull, muddy, and dark, no matter how much I recalibrated the screen, I could not get it to look anywhere as good when compared to my Samsung screen on my desk.
