Dell :: 1730 XP Video Drivers SLI Working Correctly
Oct 25, 2007when I got the 1730 from Dell, right out of the box I was getting 15,500 on 3DMark05. I installed Dell's 'new' driver on their site and it lowered to around 15,000, so I rolled back to the original 'pre-release' driver and it popped back up to the original scores (this is stock, non-overclocked, btw...when CPU is cranked to 3.4Ghz, it gets ~17,000). This was dandy, and I was very happy with the performance of pre-release drivers.
So many games didn't work with Vista, or else worked badly (i.e. crashes), that I decided to reformat and put XP on there. Well, I figured I'd put the video drivers from Dell's Reinstall CD on there, thinking these were the same 'pre-release' drivers that were allowing the better scores in Vista. BOOM: I get 10,000 in 3DMark05, a 1/3 performance decrease! Believe me, I tweaked the driver settings just like I always do...SLI is definitely 'enabled' in the driver page, but the computer performs as if it is DISABLED. So, thinking it's a driver issue, I upgrade to the 'new' drivers on Dell's Support site, and BOOM: same issue. I'm so pissed off right now, I can hardly type, as this is LOWER than my 1710. For $4000, I could have bought a lot of hookers and coke, so this laptop may be going back with extreme prejudice if a solution isn't found in the next five to seven days.
There are threads about this in other forums around the net, but none of them I've found have any real workaround or solution other than 'we'll have to wait for Dell or Nvidia to properly support SLI.' Even the 'pre-release' driver on the system when it ships is not available for download anywhere, and I believe it's Visa-only anyway. Does anyone have a solution for this problem? Hell, is anyone else HAVING this problem? I PM-ed Progneta yesterday, because I thought he had had the same issue and fixed it, but the more I thought about it, the more I figured a separate thread should be started concerning this problem, since it's pretty basic and very crippling. SOMEBODY at Dell should have caught this, since I know for a fact the engineers over there EXPECT people for format their machines when they get them (i.e. this is marketed to an enthusiast crowd, and they know it).

Nov 15, 2011Recently began recollecting drivers needed for Latitude E6410 Win 7 32 bit fresh build, and found some descrepancies. 1 "How to Download and Install Drivers in the Correct Order" (Dated 8-14-2006) on the Latitude E6410 driver page states that for number 8 the Dell ControlPoint software Says it is located in "Applications" when itis in fact under Dell Control Point. It Suggests installing the following:
-Control Point System Manger
-Control Point Security Manager
-Control Point Connection Manager
But in fact the only 2 available are Control Point System Manager and Control Vault (A little confusing). Also, under System Utilities is the PDF E-Family How-To Reimage Guide Which is marked urgent and I use for recreating images. It states that the Driver that has to be installed (Prerequisite to other DCP ) is Dell Control Point Security Driver Pack. Which is no where to be found. I heard toady from "Ronnie" at Dell Tech services via phone that I should use Dell Data Protection (Instead of Dell Control Point) but can find nothing on the correct order or how and when to install it.
Is there anyway to get an updated Latitude E6410 Win 7 32bit Correct order (And which ones) Driver install list?
HP Envy 15-k067nz OS/Software :: Validity Sensor Drivers Won't Install Correctly
Aug 18, 2014I am having problems with the Validity sensor drivers. It appears to not install correctly.
I've HP simple pass installed and working, I've also tried to install validity sensor drivers (from HP drivers store) but it appears to never install correctly since then it doesn't work. When I go under biometric device, in control pannel, it says that there is no biometric device installed on the computer.
In my devices manager, every drivers show like it has been installed.
I have a HP Envy 15-k067nz with Windows Seven (64 bits) installed on it. Except the validity sensor drivers, every other drivers work without problem.
Originaly there was Windows 8.1 installed on it with Validity sensor drivers working on it.
I also tried to install the windows 8.1 drivers version in compatibility mode, which didn't work.
Dell :: Sleep Mode Not Working Correctly
Feb 16, 2009I have a Dell XPS M1530. Since I am a college student, and when I usually leave class, I just close my laptop.
let it go to sleep, and put it in my bag. The problem lately has been that when I close my laptop, it does not go into sleep mode, even though it is set for it to do this.
It will do this on both battery and AC power. I will put it into sleep overnight so it is in sleep when I put it in my bag in the morning.
And once last week I put it in there thinking it was a sleep and then 3 hours later while I was at work,
I had not brought it out yet, and opened my bag and the laptop never turned off, it had been running the whole time and was hot, and had 22 minutes of battery left.........

Jan 21, 2009Is my volume control working correctly? The touch thing at the left. It changes the volume in blocks of 2, but even 2 blocks is quite loud and very difficult to set it at 2 blocks in the first place. Normally it goes to 4 blocks then 0 volume and takes time to set it at 2. Having to set the volume using the bottom right icon atm.
Is there anyway to get it more accurate and have a better range of volumes in the lower levels?. I did uninstall a lot of the junk programs that came with it but not launch manager
HP OS/Software :: Touchpad Not Working Correctly - Envy-15Q004TX
Aug 5, 2014Apart from windows 8.1 however that is not the concern of this post. My mouse pad stops working when I press a key, as in if I press 'W' whilst trying to move the mouse on the screen then the mouse tracking stops. So it is impossibe to play any sort of games and makes it realy difficult to do other things and is just annoying. The only button which does not affect this is the sift key. Is there a setting or something like that or am I just unfortunate?

May 13, 2014I just got a my brand new laptop from Lenovo but only the integrated graphics card is running and to make matter worse it crashes from time to time. The laptop has windows 7 installed.
Here's what happened:
Google sketch up test
1) install google sketch-up
2) run it for a while and then the screen goes white
3) error pops up stating that the integrated graphics has crashed
4) restarting sketchup is needed to continue
I tried the following to fix this:
1) reinstall the graphic card drivers from nvidia site
2) charge power management to max
3) set google sketch up to only use nvidia GPU (nvideo control panel)
Next I figured maybe it's sketchup with the problem so I downloaded a PC bench mark program - Maxon's Cinebench. this didn't work either
1) Does not see the nvidia card as an option to test
2) Setting it up to run only nvidia grpahics had no effect
3) I'm getting a crappy 17 frames per second - at least the ingrated graphics didn't crash this time..

Apr 5, 2013My USB drivers are no longer working. I tried updatinga ll the drivers, the rollback is greyed out, along with uninstall and disable. I have tried a system restore and that did nothing also. I can no longer use my digital camera, GPS or printer. Interesting that my mouse and keyboard are hooked up to USB's and they work fine. I still haven't been able to get a solid 30+ fps in WoW (world of warcraft).
I did a clean install of Windows XP and started off with the drivers on Dell's website, which gave me roughly mid 20s fps in WoW.

HP Dv6-6c35dx Networking :: WiFi Drivers Not Working?
Jan 26, 2015I replaced the hard drive on my HP Pavilion DV6-6c35dx and did a clean install of Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit. The network drivers were the first I tried to install, but I was unable to activate the WIFI. I was able to successfully install the ethernet driver (Realtek Local Area Network (LAN) Driver), so I can get online.
None of the other network drivers listed for my laptop seem to have done anything: Broadcom Wireless LAN Driver for Microsoft Windows 7; Ralink 802.11 b/g/n WiFi Adapter; Atheros Bluetooth Driver. I cannot find any wireless devices in device manager, but the laptop definitely has the hardware because it worked flawlessly on my old hard drive.
The WIFI indicator light on the keyboard is orange, and nothing happens when I press it. It just occurred to me while typing this post that I should check in the BIOS, and I will check that right after I finish; There was nothing useful in the BIOS.
Sony :: ITunes Isn't Burning My CD's Correctly
Dec 8, 2009I know iTunes is full of bugs and I'm really starting to get annoyed but this maybe the straw that puts me over the edge to finding an alternative. I've tried 2 different brands of CD's and even one that was a friggin "Sony CD-R". Still when iTunes burns my disks it'll finish like normal and mount the finished product in the sidebar, and upon first inspection it looks fine but when I play through the CD all the ends of my songs are cut off and some skip and then some are just plain not there (towards the end of the disk).
I've looked at the individual song properties and none of them specify a start or end time and I'm at a loss as to what to do. I know CD's aren't expensive but when I only burn like 1-2 a month, and I buy a five pack and it messes them all up that's money I'm just "burning" (pun intended). Could it be a problem with the buffer under-run? In that case it's HW and I'd need to RMA it to Sony... or is there some special tool I can use to see if I can calibrate the drive or something? the drive in QTS is an Optiarc BD-ROM BC-5500S4 with the released firmware update.

Aug 19, 2009I have a dv2550se with windows xp installed. (Before it was vista but i reinstalled it).
However, the DVDRW is not being recognized as DVDRW. When I go to My Computer it says that its a DVD-RAM drive. So basically I can't write anything . I tried uninstalling the driver in device manager but still nothing.
Dell :: Special Screw Drivers For Working On Laptops?
Nov 2, 2009I was wondering if anyone on here uses a special size or brand of screwdriver when working on Dell laptops.
The reason I ask is because we support a number of Dells here at the office, and my team mostly has an el cheapo laptop repair kit with a very cheap universal screwdriver set.
I've noticed that the phillips head of the screwdriver doesn't seem to set very well into the Dell screws on the bottom of the laptop

Oct 2, 2008I have finally managed to compile a complete set of drivers for Windows XP Professional, seeing as Dell don't provide any for that OS.
So far, everything's been running fine for me. The graphics driver resets occasionally (just like it does on Vista) but doesn't seem to cause any problems.
I'm just glad to get rid of Vista - that was horrid!

I guess the drive has not been certified for WIN7 64bit. HP, this doesn't accepted as HP is one of the famous laptop brand with buggy and uncomplete product in the market.
