HP CQ58 OS/Software :: Missing Windows 7 X64 Driver SM Bus Controller
May 22, 2014I have had to downgrade a client's CQ58 notebook from Windows 8 64 to Windows 7 64 at their request. The process has gone quite well and I have managed to find all the necessary drivers - except one, the SM Bus Controller driver, which I am having trouble sourcing. I think this is part of the AMD Catalyst package and I have downloaded and installed the recommended package from AMD's auto-detect and this has not resolved the issue. I have also tried an slight earlier version of these drivers and this too has left me with the same problem. Is it going to seriously affect my clients notebook if I cannot find a suitable driver?

Jan 2, 2015Just rebuilt new HP 355 G2 to Win 7 64 bit. The ONLY driver I can not locate or get to work is the PCI Encryption/Decryption Controller. I installed all latest drivers for this model/OS from both HP and AMD sites still no luck. AMD autodetect utility and Catalyst software installed all other drivers successfully except this one and when completes says all drivers, including chipset, are installed successfully and current.

Acer :: Driver - Mass Storage Controller Missing Driver
Jun 15, 2009Have done a clean install of VISTA HP. Keep being prompted to install driver for "Mass storage controller". Device manager shows it with yellow exclamation mark. Windows cannot locate a driver. Looked on the Acer site but unsure what to install for this one.
Device manager just calls it "other device" Acer Aspire 9301awsmi.

Sony :: Vaio Laptop Driver- With Windows 7
Feb 26, 2010I have a Sony Vaio VGN-FS93S laptop. It is about 4-5 years old. I bought it in Thailand so I think it is a Sony Asian region model.
I installed Windows 7 on it today without any problems. It runs fine, but I am having some driver problems as expected. Even though there are a couple of red lights in the Device Manager, all my hardware is working fine except for the wireless network card. I don’t mind the errors in the Device Manager as long as everything works somehow. But I also can’t get the function keys working on the laptop, which I would like to have working too.
I called Sony in Thailand and they said the laptop is too old so Sony won’t be supporting it with new drivers for Windows 7.
Are there any Windows 7 drivers from other Vaio models which might be compatible with my laptop?

Oct 28, 2008i recently installed WinXP on my Acer 5930G (went from vista). i managed to find all the drivers (including the ICH9M SATA ACHI-mode driver) except one called the SM Bus Controller which is showing up in device manager with a little yellow ! symbol. Does anyone know where I can find this driver? the Intel website and their chipset identifier tool seems to be quite useless. The chipset identifier can't identify anything except the I/O controller (82801MB ICH9M SATA AHCI-mode) which was installed from the '32-bit floppy configuration files'

I had to reinstall windows manually as trying to make the machine a dual boot with the win7 and ubuntu resulted in me messing the partitions up. I have managed to do so and been installing/updating all the drivers. But in the device manager, the SM Bus Controller still has a yellow excamation mark next to it.Â
