Anyways I have the IDT Control Panel installed with all the drivers up to date but with the volume turned all the way up I can barely hear anything from the laptop speakers, if I plug in headphones they work fine but the speakers barely put out sound.
Model: HP DV6Z CTO OS: Windows 7 Pro 64 bit (updated drivers from hp's site).
I tried the suggestion regarding installing realtek driver's but my laptop bsod'd and I haven't tried anything since (couldn't think of anything).
The green volume bar barely goes up when I do stuff such as watch video's online (doesen't even reach 1/4th of the way up) while the volume is turned all the way up.
I'm looking at buying one of these laptops from HP's website. I have a question about them though. The dv5tse has an Intel processor and an Intel 4500 integrated graphics card whereas the dv6z has AMD processor and ATI Radeon integrated graphics card or ATI 512MB and 1GB dedicated graphics card. Which one of these combinations is better: Intel, Intel or AMD, ATI? There will be no gaming on this computer. It will be strictly Blu-Ray movies, school work, web, music etc.
But I have no clue if the insides are as good as it looks outside.
Below is the configuration i wanted to chose. The laptop should be able to handle some serious software like CAD, photoshop and ArcGIS. Gaming a plus but not a priority. Playing movies would be a plus too.

Having just got rid of a dv2104eu, i just got a dv6-1131ea, which is hitting 50-60 when idle, i just fired sims 3 up and it hit 85? Is this normal for a turion RM-75 on it's first day or should I send it back to HP for excess heat?
It doesn't fill me with confidence after my last experience with AMD. The intel DV6799ea with a t8100 is cooler under load than this new baby is when it's idling!
Is it just the way AMD is, or something wrong with my laptop?
I want to transfer some old DV tapes to DVDs through an old JVC mini-DV camcorder with a DV/4-pin firewire connection but I do not know how many pins the firewire port on my laptop is. I was under the impression that all notebooks used a 4-pin connection, and it looks like it is 4 pins, but the connector pin assignments section of the user manual lists it as 6 pins.
One day my computer was real slow so i decided to factory restore my notebook, so i did. But ever since after that, i no longer can use my wifi for internet access. The only way i can connect to internet now is by ethernet cable. I called HP Support and they said i was missing a driver , since im sure i can just download what i need online for free on the HP site.  So, The bottom right icon shows a computer with a X on it. My F12 key is on with a blue light lid up.  When i go to HP Connection Manager it says Wi-Fi (Wireless LAN) Disabled by Device Manager. When i go into Device Manager > Network Adapters, all the drivers i see are these three
"Bluetooth Device (Personal Area Network)" "Bluetooth Device (RFCOMM Protocol TDI" "Realtek PCIe GBE Family Controller #2"
This is all i see. Am i missing any other drivers? Â Information on my notebook: Product Name: HP Pavilion dv6z-6100 CTO Quad Edition Entertainment Notebook Product Number: LK183AV OS Name: Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium System Type: x64
Im looking at getting the P7350 with 2 gigs ram and 9600gt or the p8400 with 2 gigs and 9600gt. The price difference is 40$..is it worth it?? Or should I just save the 40$ and upgrade to 4gigs with the 7350? Both use 64 bit vista.
im thinking of upgrading the processor on my relatively old Compaq V6133CL. I currently have dual-core AMD 64 X2 TL-52 with 1.6GHz and want to upgrade to dual-core AMD Turion 64 X2 TL-60 with 2.0GHz. I did research on my own and asked HP tech support, which is pretty useless, but still need some advice. My question is will it be supplied with enough voltage, seems like it needs 1.075 / 1.10. The socket type is S1 in both. Are there any other things that I should be aware of?
My current system: 1.6 GHz AMD Turion TL-52 Mobo: Quanta 30B7 with F.3D bios from HP 2Gb DDR2
I am getting ready to build an HDX18T with essentially all the bells and whistles. 4GB DDR3 RAM, 320GB 7200 SATA Hard Drive, Blu Ray, HP integrated Hybrid TV Tuner, geForce 9600M GT.
I am still trying to decide on two things Processor- Core 2 Duo T9600 2.80Ghz vs. Core 2 Duo T9400 2.53Ghz vs. Quad Q9000 2.00 Ghz Graphics Card - geForce 9600M GT with 512 MB vs 1 GB
How much difference would I see between the choices above? I'd like to soup this thing up as much as possible, but I don't want to throw money at the wind either. Why when you are selecting the RAM do you have to specify for the 512 Graphics card or the 1 GB Graphics card?
I would like to know if anyone recently bought a HDX18T with the QX9300 processor? I asked HP and they said that the Intel Extreme Tuning Utlity was pre-installed with the QX9300 processor, but can anyone verify this?
i want to play games on my laptop but every game i install has low fps for e.g wow, guild wars, gta and etc games like that i went on to can you run it site thing and i sed my cpu processor is too low but it cant be i have a amd dual core rm 70 any suggestions on what to do? my laptop is only 3 months old it is basically new it has 3gb ram 160gb hard drive nvidia geforce 8200 so it cant b any of dem
my mom has a HP Pavillion dv6000 made for being mobile and having some gaming capability anyway she's had it for year and half well long story short its alwas been kinda slow and I ran some tests on it because I'm thinking about buying it from her and the processor AMD Turion 64 X2 TL-58 @ 1.90GHz is like locked at 803.9MHz won't go past it I ran OCCT for an hour and it never went over 803.9MHz and never went under 803.7Mhz any idea what the problem could be?. I know she didn't do anything to it, all she does is go on Facebook.com and play FarmTown >_>
you have to be very careful with your HP notebook upgrade plans and that, because of BIOS limitations, processor upgrades are “usually” considered limited to what has been offered as OE. While there have been exceptions to this general rule of thumb, they're usually few and far between and risky if you don’t have the big bucks for experimentation. Well, I happen to be at NewEgg looking around a bit and came upon an interesting processor review.
TNO 821 at NewEgg has posted a review after upgrading his DV5t to a Intel P9500 (25w, 2.53GHz, 6MB L2 Cache). I’m not sure, perhaps this processor was actually offered at some time as OE, but it is not however currently listed in the HP Maintenance & Service Guide for this model. Therefore, it seems noteworthy to report that it appears that this processor is an viable upgrade option for DV5t owners so inclined. ….. and perhaps others as well.
I just got my laptop back after a big headache with the motherboard...
It powers on for awhile but when i try to play any games it shuts off by itself. I called up HP tech and they suspect it to be a faulty processor. When I try to run the memory test the laptop shuts off by itself too. What are my options for upgrading cpus?
I've got a dv5-1003. FE764ua. the processors that's in right now is an AMD turion x2 64. Also I'm only running on 2 gigs of ram when it originally came with 3. The laptop won't boot on if theres a ram card in the second slot.
I just purchased a dv7-1273cl from aafes, here in Afghanistan. They were recently stocked at our local Base Exchange, around the 2nd of March.
t6400 Processor (2.0Ghz, 2mb L2 Cache, 45nm die,etc.) 4gb of DDR2 at 800mhz 9600 GT video Card w/ 512Mb of Memory 500gb 5400rpm harddrive 2x Blu-Ray player WXGA (1440x900) Screen Bluetooth, wireless, e-sata port, HDMI port, etc, etc. Vista Home Premium x64 SP1
Here's my questions:
What CPU's can this guy be upgraded to? It runs fine as is, (sins of a solar Empire at max settings 4x AA and not a hickup, Don't know frame rate, don't really care, as my eyes are things that matters)
I tried doing research into what processors it will accept, but I'm unclear and I haven't seen any posts.
If my Front Side Bus is 800mhz, is that restricted by the CPU itself or by some chipset on the Motherboard?
Also I've read that there some problems with the Sound Card drivers (IDT HD audio) and also that the Blu-Ray player wouldn't work on some of the same model numbers that were sold at Costco. I have not had a chance to test the blu-ray player, but my Audio driver has yet to consume 50% of the CPU usage, at anytime (knock on wood).
As you might have guessed I don't have a steady Internet connection, so I'm pretty much just cleaning out alot of the HP junk except for the stuff that has been integrated to deeply and I can just hide away, and so far it's worked pretty good. I have Adobe CS4 Master Edition installed and It runs all those programs wonderfully
I have a compaq cq50-209wm and it has a intel celeron 585 running at 2.16GHz. I'm not a really big fan of this processor it seems really slow, so I was wondering what other processors this computer supports. it has a socket p 478 so it must support some of the mobile core duos,
And turn off the 5830 to boost your battery life by a few hours? A full HD 15 inch desktop replacement with light and thin form factor that lasts 6+ hours would be friggen win....
I have a Compaq v6000 (same as HP Pavilion dv6000) running on MCP51, it has a TL-52 in it - a 90nm cpu. I have two questions first can I upgrade the cpu to a 65nm TL-60 or RM-70?
What difference in temperetures and performance could I expect?
my computer was fixed and he replaced the hard drive...on my hp computer...but now im noticing that is no longer centrino, bbut dual core....let me know if he sneaked and took it...or if when u fix a hard drive, the processor is replaced as well...
This laptop has a t6600 processor that does not support virtualization. I have Windows 7 pro installed and I need to run some things in XP mode for work. Can I just upgrade to a p8700 processor? Will the BIOS have to be changed?
I will start off with Sorry not sure I am in the right place, but if someone could answer or send me in the right direction, I would greatly appreciate it. I have a Hp HDX16-1375, I am looking at upgrading the processor once my warranty runs out, but I want to make sure I can get a processor before they disappear, I think it will take quad core, but I am not sure, I am looking for a successful processor upgrade and to what speed.
I'm considering purchasing an HP dv4t. Right now I'm choosing between the HP and a Toshiba model. I wonder two things. . . 1. if someone might please advise about the preferred brand --(and why, since quality matters more to me) and 2. if someone could please advise about the best choice for the dv4t processor and graphics card? I want to be sure I'm getting a dedicated graphics card and that I can upgrade later.
Information is as follows: Toshiba: $700- model A505-S6965 Intel Core 2 Dual Processor P7350 ATI Radeon HD 4750 graphics w/ 512 mb memory
HP dv4t: $850- See options below. I was thinking the P7350 processor and the Intel graphics accelerator. . . but is that the same as a dedicated graphics card? The NVIDIA card adds $150 to the computer cost. . . it would be good to know if that's worth it!
my computer has an AMD Turion mobile 64 ML-34 Processor and that the properties of the ml-34 are the same as the ml-37 (2.0ghz instead of the 1.8ghz). I installed the new ml-37 processor and well it didnt work. The screen will not come on with the new processor.
SO i put the old chip back in, but I have no idea what to do now, to get the new processor to work.
I have an HP G60 that I was interested in possibly overclocking it. It has an AMD Turion Dual-Core RM-70 2.00GHz Processor in it. I was wondering if it is even possible to overclock it and if so how much would be a safe bet?
Heres some specs: Model: Hewlett-Packard G60 Notebook Processor: AMD Turion Dual-Core RM-70 2.00GHz 64-bit RAM: 3.00 GB DDR2 OS: Windows Vista Home Premium 32-bit SP1 HDD: 150 GB SATA Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce 8200M G
