HP/Compaq :: Find Me A Display Driver That Will Install DV6t Quad
Feb 28, 2010
My specs: dv6t quad. i720M. 320M.
I just cleaned installed.
I already know the 320M Drivers are not yet release. Done.
But I can't find a way to install ANY driver I downloaded. None of them will install. Giving me message that there is no compatible hardware.
The only one that will install is from HP's website, but that only installs NVIDIA HD Audio. It doesn't install display drivers at all. W(T)F. Where is the display driver in that install?
I am stuck on the 1280x720 resolution and I cant go up to my native resolution at 1366x768.
I am tired of already spending countless hours downloading and searching for a driver that will work.
This model has customized & quick-ship option. I notice the customized version is fitted with Geforce GT 320m - For i7 processor (no other option), while the Quick-Ship model is fitted with GT230m WITH Physx.
I've heard about Physx before, and I always think it is another component bought separately (at least for PC desktop 1-2 years ago). So, is this Physx processor always present with all Geforce GT230m & 320m series, or does HP actually fit this additional processor as a bonus ?
I look on NVidia's technical specs for 320m & 230m, and Nvidia specifies that they are both Physx-ready. What does "READY" mean here ? Ready to be fitted with an optional Physx feature, or does it mean both have already integrated the Physx into 320m & 230m ? ...or do I misunderstand something ?
I will be receiving a dv6t Quad edition soon. I am planning to replace the original HDD with a SSD. The original HDD will go in a external eSATA enclosure.
Questions/comments:
- Are there any step-by-step guides out there for replacing the HDD?
- I have read in forums that doing a fresh install on SSD is better than cloning your existing drive. Is that correct?
- In case of any issues with the installation on SSD, I can always put the original drive back in.
- If I dont delete the MBR on the original drive, will it create an issue in the external enclosure along with the new MBR on the SSD?
I have a dv6t quad running Windows 7 with Bluetooth. I want to use BlueSoleil to link to my devices but I get an error message with BlueSoleil saying "Can not start Bluetooth. Bluetooth hardware is not found."
every time I change the volume it goes into the separate volume popup window and whatever else I'm doing gets minimized if it was fullscreened, it's really annoying. How do I turn this off? I've been told by a HP custom service guy to uninstall Quick Touch, but I can't even find it anywhere.
(are there any other things I can do to optimize this computer?)
Just received my brand new, shiny, sparkling dv6t Quad Ed. laptop. I would like to make sure that everything is right with it in the 21 days window otherwise return the machine for a replacement.
- What all should I check/test and how, to make sure nothing's wrong with it?
- What are some of the recurring, common issues I should check for?
- How can I stress test this laptop apart from wPrime? I dont have any games.
how to do a clean install and to backup the swsetup folder and to create a set of restore disks just for the hell of it and all of that...so that's not really what I need assistance with.
I was wondering if someone wouldn't mind listing all of the drivers & software that I need to reinstall after the clean OS install is done so I don't miss anything and also the order in which they are to be installed. Why am I asking this? Because this is my first HP, I've always had Dell's before and I realize HP has some other software for like the hard drive protection and stuff so I'm not very familiar with it.
I wasn't able to order my system with a blu-ray drive as their is a global shortage and it was only being offered on the DV8T...which is just way to big for me. HP says they put comments in my file/account that state when they get blu-ray drives in that they will either swap the drive out for me or give me a new computer because of the inconvienence. Now I'm not holding my breath on that but in case that doesn't pan out...is there anyway I can buy the HP blu-ray drive myself from somewhere online and then get it swapped out on my own? I would of course want it to match my machine, I wouldn't want to just get any drive. Also my video card is the GeForce 320M but from what I've read this supports blu-ray as well, yes?
I have an HP ENVY dv6t-7200 CTO Quad Edition Notebook. I recently had a complete system failure and had to reinstall the Windows 8.1 operating system. Naturally, I lost most of my programs (which I have reinstalled). However, I can't seem to get mt fingerprint scanner to work. I've re-installed the SimplePass software as well as the divers. I tried a hard reset and reinstalled the current validity sensor drive. I still can't seem to get the fingerprint reader to come alive.
I have a Studio 1737 that was gifted to me with Fuduntu on it. I am trying to reinstall Windows 7 on it. I insert the disc and the install auto starts. It gets about 2 minutes in and I get an error message saying that it "can not find the CD driver. Please install to continue. You can remove the windows disc to install from another disc and then resume installation" or something to that affect. I did not copy the error message. Except that it was already using the CD drive to get this far so there was some driver at work here.
I keep getting an error message telling me that my hardware doesn't meet the minimum system requirements to install the software...which makes no sense! I've already installed the Intel chipset driver and the intel rapid storage driver AKA matrix storage driver. These two must be installed before installing the ones that are refusing to install.
I called HP, got India and the guy insists just because the driver is listed for my product doesn't mean it needs to be installed. I just kinda laughed it off, he was useless.
So I did a google search on the problem and it seems a lot of people are having the same problem getting these two drives to install-same error message and everything.
any info on IF they really need to be installed and if so, how the heck do you get them to install already?
2.) Intel management engine driver (listed on HP's website for my product but not on this site for the thread devoted to my system and driver installations ([Drivers] HP dv6 Gen 2 / dv7 Gen 3 / dv8 / HDX16 / HDX18 (INTEL))

I've purchased a HP Pavilion 15-n011tu Notebook. I'm unable to install display driver for WIndows 8 (64bit). I've tried all 3 drivers given on HP site.

I have Envy dv6t-7200 Quad Edition notebook and I recently installed Windows 8.1.
I can't seem to find how to enable bluetooth. Some things I can narrow it down to:
1) I am pretty sure that model DOES come with bluetooth (I think I remember using it before, but not 100% sure).
I can't seem to get the specs page of this product, but I bought it directly from HP site ...
2) I downloaded and installed the Qualcomm Atheros Bluetooth driver and Ralink Bluetooth Software driver that I found on the HP Support & Downloads site.
3) I don't have any mention of bluetooth in my Device Manager (generic or otherwise). From first appearance it would seem I don't have bluetooth on my notebook but again, I'm pretty sure I do have.
I have HP pavilion g6 , win 7 64 bit. Amd Radeon HD 7400M series and Intel HD graphics. My problem started when my screen was getting black for seconds alot and when it comes back it said amd stopped so I decided to update the driver. First I downloaded the supported driver from the site URL.... but every time I try installing it the install process run very quickly the screen doesn't even switch during installation and it says driver is successfully installed although nothing was installed and nothing absolutely change.so I decided to download the latest amd driver from amd site14.4. I had some problems while installing but it worked fine and I had all the options including the switchable graphics.
But after a while the laptop started to hang on startup showing a blue screen saying something was incompatible. So I tried to update the driver from device manager and since then I lost all catalyst control center options also the switchable graphics mode and 3D in Photoshop isn't working anymore and every time I close the catalyst a message come saying it stopped working. I tried many times to uninstall the driver then installing a new versin 14.9, the previous 14.4, the supported but still nothing of them worked at all, also I tried installing with win 7 compatibility but it always gets stuck.
I've a ProBook 4530s core i5 radeo graphics and have installed windows 7 professional 64 bit. i now want to install the graphics driver (radeon) but am failing, the laptop if i try to install will not boot or it shows a blu screen of death. the bios version is F.40. how to i get around this problem...
I installed Windows 8.1 Update 1 x64 to my HP Pavilion G6 2240SH laptop. I started install the drivers and I got an error message in the Intel High-Definition setup: "This computer does not meet the minimum requirements for installing the software."
I want to install AMD Video Driver and Control Panl alongside with Intel Video Driver and Control Panel.
Here is My Laptop System Information :
OS Name Microsoft Windows 8.1 Enterprise Version 6.3.9600 Build 9600 Other OS Description Not Available OS Manufacturer Microsoft Corporation System Name TUHIN System Manufacturer Hewlett-Packard
i recently upgraded my hp compaq nc 6120 opperting system from xp to windows 7 32 bit since then there is cross mark on the speaker and i cannt find any sound or the driver.
After trying multiple times (both automatically and manually) to install the Nvidia drivers it shows an error saying "you must install an Intel driver first". I realize this is the HP forum, but i've tried contacting Intel with no luck on top of trying every Intel driver that looks even remotely relevant. (most of which error while installing mentioning my computer lacks the requirements for the install).
I've tried updating the drivers automatically through windows on top of disable/uninstall and restart, but the same problem keeps arising.
I have a HP Pavilion dv6t-6c00. I upgraded to windows 7 ultimate before which I had windows 7 home premium on which I could use the webcam but now it shows an error when I open cyberlink youcam "Warning, No webcam detected. Try plugging in a webcam into your computer now. If you are using an integrated camera, make sure that it is turned on". I've watched and tried all the steps except for the last step as the cyberlink youcam software doesn't allow me to click the configure settings. What should I do to turn on my webcam?
I've had my laptop for about one and half years now, and so far the webcam has been working fine. Today though, it stopped functioning. At first I thought it was the microphone and webcam, but I tested the microphone and that's working. The only thing not working is the webcam.
I tried restarting. I tried looking up the driver and making sure it was all set. At that point, I realized I didn't even have a webcam installed (which is what my programs were telling me but I didn't believe).
I then searched on this forum to find a solution and another member posted that removing the bevel and sticking the little plug back in should work. I tried it and it didn't. (I'm also concerned that I did this with my computer on... Have I done any serious damage?)
