I have a problem with my internet browsers. That problem is I will be browsing the internet and after a while both FF and IE will just show the URL of the site and the title on the tab but will just display a blank white page. However if I am downloading something while that happens it will keep downloading normally and if I restart my laptop both FF and IE work fine again for a certain amount of time. I'm running Vista Home Premium SP2 on a HP HDX laptop.
About a week ago my web browsers stopped working. I'm running Vista and I use FireFox. I also have Internet Explorer but neither of them will load any web page when i go to them. I know my connection is working because I can use any other program that requires internet. I've been told that I have a virus. I've ran Malwarebytes, RKill, Avast!, CCleaner, Advanced System Care, and I've tried a system restore but nothing has worked.
I have Acer Aspire 8930G-844G32Bn (T8400 2.26Ghz, 4GB DDR3 and Nvidia 9700M GT 512MB)
I noticed when I opened up a browser like IE 7, it doesn't open up smoothly. It opens in a stuttering way, non-smooth like, etc. I tried other browsers like Opera and witnessed the same effect.
When open up like 'My Computer', 'Windows Media Player' or whatever... it opens up smoothly.
Why is that?
I don't have any background programs running and it is fresh installed Windows Vista Ultimate 32bit.
Following are the laptop configuration: Quick link:
Intel Core i7-4510U 2GHz Processor1TB Hybrid HDD8GB DDR3L 1600 Memory15.6" 1920x1080 LED Glossy WedgeIntel HD Graphics 5000Bluetooth 4.0Intel Dual Band Wireless-AC 3160DVD Recordable (Dual Layer)4-Cell Lithium-Ion BatteryWindows 8.1 (64-Bit)Initial setup went well. After 4 hours or so while surfing webpages, suddenly it started showing no internet connection and asked to reload webpages. So I looked at the wireless network icon on the bottom right corner which showed full bars. A few seconds later a yellow colored triangle with exclamation mark appeared on the network icon showing no internet and limited internet.
After turning the wifi off and back on the internet connects and works for few hours. After few hours, it lost internet connectivity again with the same above symptoms. I have this laptop now for 3 days and in past 3 days I had this problem at least 25 times.
Taskbar icon for Gigabit Network Connection shows "No Internet Access". But Internet access works fine. But, since the driver thinks there is no access, I have to disable WiFi to force the laptop to use the wired LAN. Device Manager says everyhting works fine. Driver update says I have the latest driver (12.10.29.0 dated 2014-05-02). My T430 with the same adapter works fine. What do I do? Only difference between T530 and T430 is the T530 is in a dock.
I have been having this problem for a long time now and a friend pointed me here to beg for some advice. My internet connection works fine for general browsing purposes and i have a good quality of signal strength where i usually use it.
The problem is, every time i run a game such as Football Manager or World of Warcraft my internet connection will be lost. This can happen as soon as 5 minuites after starting the game or can take up to an hour, but without fail it will happen. After this disconnection my wireless adaptor is still shown as being turned on however i am unable to detect any networks in range. The problem is not solved by turning the adaptor on and off and i am forced to restart the system.
I'm not sure what the cause of the problem might be, CPU and memory usage looks normal. I was wondering if perhaps overheating could cause issues like this? My laptop is generally quite warm but with the graphics card coming into play as well... I tested the internet connection whilst connected to world of warcraft but keeping the game minimised and i was not disconnected. I also installed Speedfan to monitor my core temperature and it measures at 55C idle, but after one minuite of switching to and playing the game this rose to around 75C. Not sure if i should include anything else sorry if i overloaded this a little but not very good with computers so wasn't sure what info i should include.
its a Broadcom device. The driver version 5.10.38.26
I'm having major problems with my laptop. Will try and tell you as much as possible.
I have an HP Pavilion DV2700 (DV2799ea) that is about a year old. It has built-in bluetooth which can be quite tempremental. A week ago I searched the net for a way to get my bluetooth working properly and decided to download the latest version of bluetooth for my laptop from the HP website. I then restarted my laptop, like it said. The bluetooth worked perfectly. My internet connection, however, wouldn't work.
I tried going into the very beginning of the laptop and rolling the computer back to a few hours before I installed the new bluetooth in the hope that the bluetooth would be gone but my internet would be back (as I would rather obviously have internet than bluetooth). This did not work.
I also started the laptop in safe mode, but this made no difference.
I also tried diagnosing the problem, finding a new IP address, restarting the laptop again, changing router numbers etc.
I also tried disconnecting the bluetooth, but this didn't make any difference.
I also tried completely removing the wireless connection and then reconnecting it all, this also did not work...................
My notebook has recently been losing internet connection very often. I don't have to move or anything, it just loses connection. I have a verizon fios router, i've had this notebook since September 08' and never had this problem before. My signal strength is full.
My device manager says my network adapters are:
-Intel(R) WiFi Link 5100 AGN -RealTek RTL8168(C)P/8111(C)P Family PCI-E GBE NIC
Could it have something to do with my wireless mouse? If I switch it to wired mode, my laptop still loses connection to the internet.
Also, as a side question, how do i stop windows update from trying to install the same update over and over?
hello i got a hpdv9408ca running on vista 32bit and what i want to know is when i click on my internet explorer icon the web sit does not work it says not avalible. but i dont know how to change it i can set my home page. when i hit the home page icon my home page comes up but internet explorer i cant figure how to change that. one more thing when i turn my laptop on before windows starts up i get a yellow strip about 1/4 inch thick more to the right hand side of my screen for about 20 sec then it goes away only comes on on start up.
I recently used my recovery disks to go from XP back to Vista after a very dismal Xp performance. My download speed is now around 40 kb/s from HP.com (for drivers), firefox set up download 45 kb/s? Also i've noticed that video's online buffer at an alarmingly slow rate. I have Cox high speed internet and it used to be around 400-600kb/s and pretty quick buffering. What the heck happened? And why did my graphics score drop .2 points?
I just bought my first laptop and it's a DV6-1253ca itz pretty sick. I have one problem though, when I try to connect to my home network, it says im connected but I can't go on the internet or sign into msn anything related to connecting to the internet i cant do. I disconnect and reconnect and it only sometimes work. This also happens when I close the lid~put the computer to sleep and i turn in bk on again, it connects to my home network by itself but still I can't go on the internet.
I am using HP Compaq 15 a00t2u, windows 7 ultimate 64 bit. I'm not able to connect to the internet via WiFi. Everytime I connect, it says,"no network access." There's a yellow triangle over the WiFi icon. Windows diagonsed it but failed to correct it. A message appears " Wireless Network Connection doesn't have a valid IP address. At times, it fixes the issue but within seconds, the problem again hops up.I am able to connect my mobile and other devices via same router. Also, when I switch on my mobile's Wifi Tethering, laptop connects to the network easily without any issue.
I have a HP Compaq Presario CQ56 notebook computer. It was set up correctly when I bought it, everything worked perfectly. I somehow managed to get a virus which prevented me from even turning on my computer (Which is odd, because I'm not an idiot with computers, and I know what not to download/sites to visit), so I had to reset my computer back to stock, I used my Windows 7 disk, formatted the partitions and installed windows again.
Now, for some reason it won't connect wirelessly to the internet. It connects when I have an ethernet cable plugged in, but it won't find any networks, as shown in this screen shot:
I'm not sure what's causing it, but I guess it must be a driver issue?
Here's another screenshots :
It works fine when I have my laptop plugged into the internet, when I'm at uni, but when I come home on a weekend I can't bring my laptop back, because I only have WiFi back home.
I had a dv2700t, with a problem I described in this forum some time ago... I didn't manage to solve the problem and HP couldn't/wouldn't "fix" it... the problem was that the wireless... caused blue screens/crashes randomly while using internet (downloading large and small torrent files for example) this happened ONLY when using WIRELESS connection.
I now, after nagging on HP for months, own a dv7-1290.
Imagine my surprise when I get the same problem...the only difference that I've been able to discern between this problem and the old problem is that this computer doesn't crash the UBUNTU live cd that the other computer managed to do......
I have a Compaq Presario CQ61-313us notebook, and i've just installed windows 8.1, then i realized there was a problem with my Internet, every time i open a website, i always get either a page like this: [URL] ... , or i get "Error: Gateway Timeout", though i can get to the website if i refresh a few times, but it's extremely slow.
Also, i can't download anything, I've been trying to download the .NET Framework 3.5 through Windows Features and windows Update, but in vain. I think that proves that the problem isn't from IE. I also think that it's the wireless driver's fault, but i'm not sure, and i don't know what driver to download. I tried updating it from the properties meny, but it says it's up to date. My wireless adaptor is Qualcomm Atheros AR9285 802.11b|g|n, V3.0.1.155.
Update: I think it's worth noting that when i download with utorrent, it downloads normally with my regular download speed, but other than that, i can't download anything.
I've got an e6400 and the internet is PAINFULLY slow. This started a little while ago on any WiFi network I use. I changed the drivers and recently upgraded to 7 so I have no clue what it is. Downloading a driver from Dell was downloading at 3.7 kb/sec. It is insane. A computer right next to me is fine.
I have an Acer 5735 laptop that I have used to access the internet wirelessly in the past on other networks without issue. I recently bought a TRENDnet TEW-637AP and plugged it into the back of my wireless router. I am getting a good signal and I am connecting to the network according to Vista but I cannot get it to load a web page to save my life. This hasn't been an issue in the past on other networks.
My notebook is Acer 8930G and my network adapter is an Atheros AR8121/AR8113/AR8114 and i used to have as a wired router a Dlink 524T, which i changed with a Netgear DG834 during my many attempts to resolve in vain my internet problems as i did with my ethernet cables.
About a week ago, suddenly my notebook ceased to have any internet connection and my status varied from local only to limited connectivity while both the green and orange lights on the adapter came and went continiously.
After a casual scan with Malwarebytez antispyware,it turned out that i had 9 infections from the trojan BHO,which turned out to origin from Acer itself,as it was part of the recovery hidden partition. This trojan appeared as Partner BHO that ran as an add on to Internet explorer and was part of the Acer-Google toolbar present at IE.
After innumerable efforts and formats,i somehow cleaned(so it seems without being 100% certain) my PC.The only thing is that the problem persists with the connection, while two other computers that share the network with me,didn't and still don't have any problems whatsoever.
My Atheros adapter functions as follows:The green light on the right is stable for a few seconds subsequently dissapears for an instance and then returns while the orange light beeps only at the presense of the green light. My network status vary from Local only to limited connectivity most of the times and sometimes it turns to no connectivity. The device manager indicates that all devices are working properly without any explanatory or question marks underneath any of them
I just bought a Dell 1710 laptop with a wireless card but no internal modem. I have an old desktop that connects to the internet by dial-up.
(This is the only option for me right now because I live in the boonies!) I want to be able to connect to the internet with my laptop and be able to move around the house.
Do I need a modem & router? I can't seem to find a router with a built-in modem. How do I connect it all? Desktop>>>>>router>>>>modem>>>laptop?
So just moved and went to setup my office again and everything works fine except my M1530 cant connect over wifi. I have Roudrunner, a Linksys WRT55AG, Vista Desktop, M1530 laptop, HP laptop, and iphone. Everything except my M1530 can access the internet.
It says that I am connected to my wirless network but not the internet. I can access the internet when my laptop is directly plugged in via lan cable to router but whenever I disconnect the lan cable and try to go online over the wireless I cant! Under device manager everything looks fine except "isatap" it says there is an error code 31.
sorry in advance for what I'm sure is a rookie question... My father has one of the Dell mini laptops.
He is in the hospital at the moment, and I'm wondering what kind of card/fob etc., if anything, is available to allow him to have wireless access (like 3G) to internet?
The hospital doesn't have any wireless available, nor do there appear to be any 'hotspots' accessable from the hospital, so looking for what I'd need to access a local internet service etc?
all of a sudden my internet goes EXTREMELY slow on the VPC-Z. Like crawlingly slow. Sometimes it comes back itself, other times I have to turn the wireless switch off and back on again to resolve it.
At the same time my main PC which uses the same router and connection is running fine.
I have tried changing the internet settings to a fixed 192.168.1.9 address and also using DHCP as normal, but neither resolved it.
I'm planning on getting NIS 4 (Mac Edition) for my MBP, which now has Snow Leopard. My question is on if anyone has NIS installed and if any major problems occur for you when running it. I read the FAQ page on Symantec's website and it states that several portions of NIS do not function in SL, but wondering if it causes other compatibility issues.
I know that lots of people claim Mac's don't need security software but I'm one of those people that are a bit paranoid when it comes to online interactions, especially since I do quite a few purchases on the Internet.
I just bought 2 weeks ago new ProBook with Windows 7 Professional in it. Laptop itself is nice but I'm having constant struggle with my internet connection. I'm having Wlan in the house and I have my old Sony Vaio, This ProBook and one Axus tablet using it. (not at the same time). Router itself is from local internet/sky chanel provider with their own covers so I dont know the manufacturer/model and in this case it does not matter. Internet works totally fine with Axus and Sony but not with this. I can see problem is not Windows7 or router.
Problem is some HP own Client security setting program. Nice to have one but I can see there is some firewall that is turning the connection down and after some "resetting", "let windows solve the problem" and restarting etc it lets itself get back up and after a while disconnects it again. Yellow ! sign turn on the connection bar and it says "limited connection". I have almost full signal all the time so even that is not reason.
And again, I do not have any problems with other devices. It is OFF several minutes 80% of the times when windows starts. Then with some fighting, it turns on. Sometimes even without me doing nothing. I just can't find the way/link to turn off the HP "security program". I do use F-Secure Internet Security 2015 to secure my HP against spyprograms and viruses so it is enough for me. HP security program is nice but if it turns so much problems for me I will turn it off.
The laptop is a Pavilion G7 with Windows 7 64-bit. The machine was given to me under the premise of "Internet does not work". The wireless properties and LAN settings say that the laptop is connected and has Internet access. I can ping outside addresses from the machine, and can ping the machine from other devices. It also pulls a valid ip address according to an ipconfig. However, when you try to pull up a website, it gives a "website cannot be found" page. This happens on IE, Firefox, and Chrome. All chipset drivers, ethernet drivers, and wireless drivers have been uninstalled and reinstalled. They are the newest drivers available from HP's website. I have even replaced the wireless NIC thinking it may just be a bad card. I've checked the IPv4 settings and all is set right. Thinking of possible DNS issues I tried using straight IP addresses to connect to webpages but all to no avail. Are there BIOS issues that would affect this?
