Do You know which is the right model for this notebook ?
Looking at focalpri** I've not found any model for my notebook.
I have the 16.0" diagonal High Definition HP Ultra BrightView Infinity Display (1920x1080p) and the outside glass has couple marks on it. I would like to replace this.
Where can I find brand new replacement parts?
Also, I need to replace the keyboard, chrome keyboard bezel and outer chrome cover (on the left hand side of the laptop, around the VGA port). Where can I find brand new replacement parts?
I have an HP 6510b qith Arch Linux and whenever there are available wifi nets the led blinks continuosly.
How Can I force it to stay on without blinking ?
I've put an extra HD in a caddy delivered by newmodeus (converting SATA disk to the "PATA" connector in the DVD-bay in my 6510b - the harddrive is only able to read at 15 mb/s compared to the 100 MB/s when placed in the harddrive-bay (SATA).
Does anyone know if this is normal? is the the HP-connector or the chip in the caddy that is the bottleneck.... Any workarounds to improve the speed?
Ive tested both an intel x25M 80 gb and a Hitachi 7200 rpm 200GB in the caddy with the same slow performance...
I'm trying to factory restore my HP Compaq 6510b with Vista. I've not got a recovery disc & laptop didn't come with 1 either. F11 option doesn't work however F8 allows me to access the Advanced Boot Options however there is no repair your computer or system recovery option on the menu. Also there is no recovery manager when searching at the start menu.System restore option doesn't seem to be much supportive as the date available only seems to be in the last few days.Am I wasting my time trying to factory restore or is it time to finally upgrade my once trusty & reliable laptop?Â

I ask because people on youtube who are posting reviews say it's plastic and not glass. I'd like to know one way or the other before deciding to order.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI currently have an AA1 and am curious to those who tried typing on both the HP Mini and the AA1 keyboards and noticed a difference. I believe the HP's keyboard is 92% and the AA1's is 89% I believe. It feels "okay" to type on, obviously not the best due to its size compared to a normal keyboard, but am wondering if the HP's is worth the price jump (paid 300 for mine).
View 7 Replies View RelatedIn trying to access the ram chips for upgrade I am trying to get the cover off. It is an unusually large sheet of plastic with four screws. Yes, I have loosened the screws but in trying to pull off the cover it is bending to the point of almost breaking and I don't want to force it. It is the 15.4 size gemstone.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI just got my hands a Studio 15 with great specs at the cheap, but with a pretty badly scratched up LCD lid. Has anyone attempted replacing the lid? Is it hard? I've opened up and replaced a processor, keyboard, fingerprint reader, ram, and hard drive before, but never an LCD cover. I'm kinda worried about the power button and wifi catcher, and I'm worrying I may not put the screen back the right way. This is supposed to be for my cousin, but I can't give it this badly scratched up.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI mentioned previously that I didn't care for the smudges on the glossy black cover of the mini. So I ordered a spare LCD cover to save in case I want to revert back to stock, and took my mini apart tonight to paint the cover.
See the attachments.... one is a good example of the smudges.
right now I have the mini COMPLETELY apart!
I was going to paint the cover a red wrinkle finish, but have decided at the last minute to use a red rubberized coating instead. I guess this is similar to what the larger inspirons feel like.
Anyway, second coat is about to go on, I'll post pictures of it when it's done.
iv been looking around the and everyone says dell will only cover damage and not theft
this is quite worrying as i ordered a m6400 maxed out and its just to much to lose out on
anyone at all been able to light up the cover lights (just one of the colors even) for those who have done the 9400/E1705 to M1710 mods? I would really like to know how this can be done if there are some theories out there. Please refrain from saying how much you hate the lights or asking why I would care to do this :
Some methods I thought about trying:
USB port: 5V ok, will that work with the cover LEDs?
Fan port: I have heard this one might not work but can anyone confirm?
(I am talking about cutting off the connector that would originally go into the M1710 mobo and trying various things with the wires that happen to be color coded, 2 for each color of LED apparently.)
I have CR590 with Windows 7 installed. Recently have updated SFEP, Sony Shared Library, VAIO Event Service and VAIO Power Management to the latest versions from ftp://ftp.vaio-link.com.
Results:
1) "Capture" button started to work, it hadn't worked before, therefore all functional buttons work except AV Mode (I haven't installed Instant mode software)
2) VAIO profiles disappeared from PM settings — but this not a problem, I think I can leave with self configured profiles .....
One of the rubber grips on the palm rest of my Studio XPS 13 has fallen off, so Dell is sending a service technician to replace the entire palm rest assembly.
Does the warranty cover both replacement and service charges? Am I expected to pay anything?
I have a XPS M1530, And the screen doesn't go off when I close my laptop. I have contacted dell about it. They replaced the mobo, the LCD Screen, the Palm rest. And it still doesn't go off... I'm wonder what it can be...
