I just bought a refurbished Elitebook 2530p that didn't come with a wireless card, so I bought a "Broadcom 4322AGN 802.11a/b/g/n Wireless LAN adapter (Sangria) - For use in Most of World (MOW)". This WLAN card was listed on HP's parts page for the 2530p here.
However, when I installed it and connected the antennas, the computer doesn't recognize it at all when booting up. It doesn't even acknowledge the presence of a new device.
Has anyone else gotten this same alert? "WLAN Card Utility has encountered a problem and needs to close." Every so often I get this message, my computer is fine and my wireless is also fine, I just get that message. I have the 1395 mini-card, if that makes a difference.
Also, I have noticed that my wireless signal gets dropped sometimes for no reason. It might be the routers fault but I'm not sure.
I have a HPG62 Notebook PC with the original lan card. Â I have 50mbs wireless service, but my laptop will only go to 18mbs. Â My other laptop picks up the whole 50mbs. Â Do I need to upgrade my wlan card?
I am looking for a 5G compatible WLAN card for my laptop (g6-1c75ca). Â The current WLAN card is: Realtek RTL8188CE 802.11b/g/n WiFi Adapter which as per my understanding doesn't support 5G Wifi band.Â
im having a problem with my 1525 inspiron laptop, which i have had for a couple of years. The problem started when installed windows 7. My wireless minicard stops working anytime i try playing an online game. The mouse starts freezing and then the wireless card would stop working. The only way can it working again is to reboot the laptop or put it to sleep the start it up again.
When I put the brand new Intel Wireless-AC7260 WLAN Card into Acer Aspire V3-471G, it got problems. It unable to go BIOS, keyboard hang (Unable to type), it crash the Windows 7 and 8.1. Is it possible to upgrade to Intel Wireless AC-7260 WLAN Card into the Acer Aspire V3-471G. My Acer Aspire V3-471G Configurations, Intel Core i5 3230M 2.60Ghz, 8GB RAM, 2GB NVIDIA GeForce 710M, Windows 8 (Downgraded To Windows 7).
I got myself a L430 last February and like working with this laptop.
Within this laptop there is an Intel Centrino Wireless-N 2200 (2x2), PCIe Half Mini Card [1] plugged-in.
Like described in the linked article the card is only usable for the 2.4 GHz band but I realized this only after bying the laptop. At home we normally have a 5 GHz band and I'm only able to use it at the moment using an external wlan stick.
That could not be that hard we thought, because for Lenovo laptops there are manuals out there describing how to swap such a WLan card. We decided to take the Intel Centrino Advanced-N 6235 because this card should work with my L430.
We ordered the new card and plugged it in. But after every restart the laptop beeps twice and gives an error message: Unauthorized Wireless USB card is plugged in - Power off and remove the Wireless USB card. (error 1805)
On the site I mentioned last is described we should update to "Intel Wireless LAN (11abgn, abg, bg) for Windows 7 version 15.3.1.2 or higher", but now the links doesn't get you anywhere. Some weeks ago, when we tried this, we updated the driver more than once but without success for the new wlan card and at the moment I'm stuck to use the 2.4 GHz band (or use the external wlan stick).
Why doesn't allow my L430 swapping the wlan card? The new one is from the same manufacturer, both have the same number of antennaes.
The laptop was no discount product and nowhere in the papers I read that only some cards are usable!
I'm really impressed with this computer (HP EB 2530p) but read in the review that the fan tends to get loud and that it get's fairly hot.
Exactly how loud does the fan get? I'm a student and I dont want to sit in a room with 200 other students looking at me and my loud laptop hehe. Is it really noticable/annoying when under medium load (word/excel + youtube perhaps)?
Also regarding these temperatures, does it get uncomfortably hot should you sit with it in your lap for an hour or 2?
I'm not sure if I beef up all the "cons" because I'm so picky, but if I am, please tell me to wake up :-)
I'm trying to install 7 on my 2530p. I checked on HP we site but no official drive for this OS. So I called the support and asked for more details. They said that there's no driver for the moment. Soon they will relase them. Now they suggested to use the vista buisness 64bit driver using the compatibility task. My question is about which driver should be installed and what is unnecessary.
I just got my 2530p. The problem with my 2530p is the fan noise. It is on constantly. I would think that the speed of the cpu fan should go up and down?
I have a HP Pavilion dv6t-6000 CTO Quad Edition laptop and currently the WLAN network card does not support dual band connection via WiFi. I wish to upgrade the WLAN card so that it can connect to the Dual band WiFi at my house.  Any whitelist of WLAN card that I can use to upgrade my laptop? Is there a list of supported WLAN adapters?Â
Hoperfully somebody can help me out, I am completely out of ideas.
I have an E1705 and am running Vista Home Premium. There are two issues and are most likely related.
1) My internal xD card reader keeps asking me to format a card even though nothing is inserted in there, and to be quite honest I can't even remember the last time I used an xD card.
I have tried uninstalling the device/driver and reinstalling using the most recent as well as even older drivers with no luck ....
I have had a long and complicated history with the product. I bought it back in March.
Then, I got a virus on the system. I did not get a restore CD with the laptop so I installed XP on the laptop (initially it came with Vista). This installation was on a separate hard drive than what came initially with the laptop. Also, my monitor got broken so I had to replace it with one from an older HP laptop of mine.
Now the product had some problems, but ran with XP fine. There were problems with my video card since the drivers I needed to install were integrated with Vista.
Now, I finally reinstalled Vista on the laptop. Everything is almost back to normal... except I have one BIG problem. My device control reads that I have a "standard vga video adapter" for my video card. This is entirely false as I have an Nvideo card.
I have tried installing drivers from Acer's website but to no avail. I have gotten the error message :"Nvidia setup program could not locate any drivers that are compatible with your current hardware"
I am new to this p2p support group. I have an aspire 5672WLMi with 2G RAM and factory configuration. I need to transfer files from my SD card with the 5 in one card reader slot. However after I insert the card I don't see it in the my computer as removable media.
How do I read the SD card? What am I doing wrong?
Do I need additional drivers or manuals for this?
Is there any one who can guide me to download my data using this SD card reader slot.
Just tried to use my SD reader on my D4300 which I have had almost 2 years. It was upgraded from Vista Business to Win 7. The SD Card reader is not recognized at all!I I rebooted to look at the config, and it is checked off in the configuration. I have gone back through the Dell drivers area and do not find anything specific for the SD reader....
I am using HP 2530P at home and connect to wireless access point for accessing the internet services. Recently, I found my wireless connection icon in the system tray are shown incorrecly. actually the wireless controller card is conencting to the wireless router and no problem to connect to the external network (Internet), but the connection icon in system tray indicate the connection is disconnected like below. I am no sure it is a window vista problem or my HP notebook problem.
I finally fired up my computer, and instead of Vista it installed XP. In the box is a Operating System CD for WinXP Professonal as well and a Application and driver recovery DVD for WinXP. That should be the right CDs and only the OS on the computer is wrong. There's a Vista sticker on it, mind.
And no spamware? I got a trialversion of Office 2007 that I need to kick off again and the installation created a tiny 1GB partition which only holds some HP tools. Convenient. And the IE contains a spambar with google search, lots of AOL and some HP stuff.
Now I feel slightly annoyed that they added a UK plug to the parcel and not a European one eventhough I will need it anyway soon and for a longer time. Or maybe that is standard when asking for a UK keyboard and English windows?
I am going to upgrade my dear HP elitebook 2530P with an additional harddrive insted of my optical drive, So I where browsing the Maintenance and Service Guide [url] . On page 68 - It says : ----- Secondary hard drive cage assembly, includes additional USB port (required for installation of secondary hard drive 492574-001 ----- Secondary hard drive connector board (required for installation of secondary hard drive) 495027-001 ----- Secondary hard drive system connector board (required for installation of secondary hard drive) 495028-001 ----- I am going to install a normal 2,5" disk, so which of them do I need ?
I just bought a 2530p, with 1.8-inch 120GB hardisk. The partition is assigned as below.
- 101GB for C: - 9GB for D: (HP_Recovery ) - 1GB for F: (HP_Tools)
I would like to replace existing 120GB HD with larger one, and would like to ask some question.
1. what is the largest size of 1.8-inch hardisk for 2530p? I refer to "Service and maintenance information" manual, the hardisk size seems only up to 160GB, could I installed 260GB or even larger hardisk?
2. Is it neceessary to keep the partition of HP_Tools or HP_recovery? (if I delete the partition 'HP_Tools' or 'HP_recvoery', can the OS be booted up?)
I finally received my 2530p today, and it's a thing of beauty
The only slightly annoying bit is that HP delivered a British wall contact instead of a general European one, probably because I ordered a British keyboard. But I might still have a suitable cable somewhere, or use an adapter instead.
Anyway, Vista is preinstalled on this computer and I could also opt for XP instead. The manual doesn't say how to do that. Can smoeone explain to me how to install XP? Someone mentioned earlier that I should make a backup disk for Vista anyway. So what's the general workflow? Get the computer up and running as is, make backup disk, somehow install XP over it?
Today I got my HP EliteBook 2530p in "FU432EA" configuration. It was important for me to have an optical drive, so i chose the configuration with the 120 GB 1,8" HDD.
The 2530p looks great so far and performs pretty well... If there weren't the extremely annoying noises coming from the notebook.
The HDD with its 5400 rpm (it's a Samsung HS122JF, very slow btw, not really faster than 4200 rpm drives) makes a clearly audible, very high frequency noise and turns on/off every 30-60 seconds resulting in clicking sounds. I can live with that for the moment, because I'll upgrade to some SSD in the near future.
But the second annoyance is the fan inside the laptop. Even when idling in windows with temps below 50 °C the fan turns on every few moments. Unfortunately I haven't been able to control the system fan or even read the actual speed. I tried Notebook Hardware Control, SpeedFan and HWMon, but neither of them reported me anything about the fan. I tried undervolting the CPU with RMClock (which doesn't really support the new Penryn CPUs) and got a few degrees less, but this wasn't enough to keep the fan quiet. In the BIOS there are no options regarding the fan, only some "keep fan always running on AC power", which I disabled.
Lenovo x220 Winodws 7 64bit, up todate MyDigitalSSD Super Cache2 50mm SATA III (6G) mSATA SSD Â I have installed my mSATA card as instructed and that part went fine. Like a couple of other folks the drive is not being recognized by Windows 7. I have checked the storage management in windows 7 and the drive is not there in any form. I have disabled all caching as suggested in some posts in the polices for the drive in windows 7. Again no drive being recognized.
I am comparing this against the connector in the 2510P to see if there could be a possibility of retrofitting the 2730P connector to obtain a SATA output. The 4200RPM ZIF drive in the 2510P is ultraslow and ZIF (PATA) alternatives in SSD or 5400rpm HDD form are poor value for money. micro SATA is the way to go..
Found the HP Media Library has systemboard pictures. The 1.8" drive connectors for 2510P, 2730P and 2530P are here:
Though it is somewhat difficult to make out the 2730P 24-pin socket. Can anyone take a photo of it and link on here? Here's the one for the 2510p . More pics at [url]
We can see that the 2510P ZIF socket is very different to the 2730P systemboard connector. BUT! There is the unused 24-pin socket on the 2510P that looks remarkably similar to the 2730P 24-pin SATA connector. Could this be used to provide SATA on the 2510P?...........
I have a 2530p with the 2.5" OEM 160GB spinner in the optical bay and 1.8" bay vacant. Although this would be completely ridiculous, I'm considering getting two 160 gb intel ssds. I am wondering the 2530p has support for raid 0 and if so, how to properly configure it? This combination would clearly result in the melting of faces and possibly my computer.
Also, has anyone seen X-18m G2's 80 or 160? Cant find them anywhere...
I just bought this new computer, an inspiron 17r se 7720 and whenever i try to open the nvidia control panel it says that in the system there isn't an nvidia graphic card when actually its there.Â
The graphic card its an nvidia gt 650m with 2gb of dedicated ram. I tried to flash the bios to the latest update but nothing. What can i do?
I have tried everything to get this SD card reader to work but to no avail. Even a fresh install of W7/32 ... nothing... Every time i insert an SD card in the slot... i get a message. USB device not recognized ... one of the usb devices has malfunctioned & Windows does not recognize it... I am also just using a 2 g SD card not an sdhc card.
In the Device Manager.... it shows up as "unknown device" yellow highlight... try to update the driver ... says i already have the best driver..... when i take the sd card out...unknown device disappears... i have also re-installed the drivers from here for the card reader... but nothing....
Furthermore... it seems to lead to an error code 43 ..
