HP Envy 15 Jt100 Display :: How To Increase Default Graphic Memory Size Of HD4600
Apr 24, 2014
I'd like to run Pro Evolution Soccer in my envy 15 jt100. However, the game checks the default graphic memory size and the default value is 32M, which is so small that the game just won't run even if the overall performance is enough for this game... Is there any way to increase the default graphic memory size?

Many of the newer more demanding games require that a certain amount of RAM is virtually dedicated to your graphics card, and after hours of trying to figure out how to do that I came up empty. On most desktops and some laptops you can go into the BIOS and change it, but not on the HP Envy 17t (Tried updating BIOS). I'm really not sure how much of a difference it would make for gameplay, but considering how I have an extra 11 gb of RAM when I'm rarely using more than 4 gigs it'd be nice to be able to put some of it to use. There's also a few games I want to play that require a minimum amount to even be launched at all (COD: AW).

I have just recently purchased an HP 17-e049wm. This laptop has the AMD Radeon HD8650G integrated graphics with up to 4206MB of total memory. I understand that this graphics "card" uses the onboard memory to act as video memory. How can I increase or decrease the amount of memory allocated to the graphics? I don't seem to be able to make any changes from the BIOS. Is this something that adjusts automatically?

I have HP Envy dv7-7212nr. It has Intel HD graphics 4000 which is shown in dxdiag and a GT 650M.
Â
I have VGA and also HDMI cables.
Â
How do I set it so that GT 650M is the main one and has it shown on dxdiag? Is that setup to be done in BIOS or can I do it on the desktop?

I have the Acer TravelMate 8215WLMi, running on Windows XP Pro SP2, with RAM, 2GB DDR, and CPU 2.0Ghz, and Harddisk size is 160GB.
Previously, I tried to upgrade to Vista, but found that no really compatible with several softwares at this moments, and I decided to restore my system back to Windows XP Pro SP2, using the PQSERVICE, hidden partition.
However, I realize that I should have accidentally deleted the PQSERVICE hidden partition, and now my C: Drive is under NTFS one full partition 160GB. I now only left with the Recovery DVD which I initially prompted to burn.
I have the Spotmau 2008 DVD which allow me to create the hidden partition, and then restore back the Default Partition Size to the factory default. However, I do not know what is the size of each partitions.
Anybody have the TravelMate8215WLMi running on Windows XP Pro SP2, can help to check the actual size of the first partition "PQSERVICE" hidden partition, follow by the actual size of C: Drive parition in FAT32, and lastly the actual size of D: Drive in FAT32.
In short, I need the informations of the TM8215WLMI actual factory default partitions size:
1) "PQSERVICE" hidden partition, the actual size,
2) C: Drive Label "ACER" FAT32, the actual partition size,
3) D: Drive Label "ACERDATA" FAT32, the actual partition size.
4) How can I restore the data back to the "PQSERVICE" hidden partition after recreated?
Can I copy the full content from the initially burned Recovery DVD to the "PQSERVICE" hidden partition?

I just got a Sony VPCF115FM. I was wondering if there is a setting for the browser/webpage where it opens up and the size is what I prefer. Meaning that I don't have to keep using "Ctrl +" to enlarge the page.

I just got a new envy 15 the other day. There is a high pitched noise that is kind of annoying, but I'll be using the laptop at a cafe 90% of the time and probably won't notice it. I'm pretty happy with the laptop otherwise.
Does anybody have any tips on increasing the battery life? Other than screen brightness and lowering the "maximum processor state" in the power plan, are there any other settings i should be aware of? I've read posts claiming to have increased battery life of an i7 envy 15 to 4-5+ hours. I think I'll be pretty happy if I can squeeze 3+ hours on my i5...

Everything had been fine until I did some updates, can't remember if this occurred after a video driver update or a BIOS update.
But now the display brightness maxes out at about half. When I hit Fn + up arrow, it starts off at about half and the little meter does go up (the sunshine puts on his shades), but the display brightness doesn't change at all.

I consider buying a new notebook and T420 is a hot candidate for me. I'm not sure yet whether I would go for a Core i5 or i7 processor, however I'm sure I'd like to upgrade the RAM in the future and 16 GB . I found out in the Intel specifications that (not only) the i5 2540 and i7 2640 that are available in the T420 configurations support up to 16 GB RAM, however in the T420 specifications concerning those processors I found that only 8 GB of RAM are supported. AFAIK the memory controller is integrated in the processor in these cases, so is there another factor that limits the size to 8 GB, or is it only an improper information in the T420 specs?

About a month ago my screen cracked and the warranty is up. I had a spare CRT laying around so I just plugged it into that and it worked just fine as a substitute. However, today I had to reformat for various reasons and I did so using a friend's similar model laptop by putting my hard drive in it. After I got windows up and running I put the hard drive back in my machine and took it home.
After trying it out with the external monitor I've come to the conclusion that the standard vga driver does not support multiple monitors and therefore not my external (since the laptop still believes that the LCD is plugged in and functional even without any of the LCD wires plugged into the motherboard).
As it is the external blinks on during POST like should when the VGA port is tested. I'm sure I could solve this problem by disabling the LCD monitor in BIOS but since I can't see anything that is not possible.
It seems the only solutions left to me are:
1. Buying a new LCD
2. Buying/finding a new laptop
3. Some crazy hardware magic to disable the default LCD and let the external display during POST so I can get to BIOS and/or Windows Safe Mode

Purchased Probook 4530S. Win 7. I keep having teh screen print/size resolutiom change when using the touchpad. The pointer seems to "stick" and then when I move it, the screen will either get very smaller or larger. I continually have to hit ctrl + or - to get the screen size back to "normal". Is this something to do with the touchpad settings or pointer?

The print size in gmail is huge (about two words on the screen). When the laptop was new the problem was that the size of print in gmail was too small. I looked up the problem on the web and the solution was to push a certain key (like shift, ctrl or fn) and at the same time push the + key till the desired size was reached. I have been looking for the similar procedure to decrease the huge type size, to no avail.

I have both Intel and ATI switchable graphics in my laptop. I recently reinstalled Windows & If I try to install the ATI drivers from the drivers CD or from the HP website, the laptop hangs on the Windows logo after a restart and I have to do a system restore to fix it. If I try to install just the Intel driver it just gives me an error that says "This computer does not meet the minimum requirement to install the software".  I am unable to change the brightness and the resolution is bad. In Device manager both the options under display adapter say "Standard VGA Graphics Adapter", with a yellow error sign over one of them. I am worried if the graphics card is damaged from over heating. Is it possible to disable one of the cards to check functionality of the other?

But when I checked, I found that Windows is showing the Dedicated Graphics Memory as 0MB.
Â
As you can see in the screenshot, it shows Dedicated Graphics Memory as 0MB.
