HP Envy 5-j057cl Networking :: Change Public Network To Private
Jun 2, 2014
I'm working on a HP Envy Touchsmart notebook. Model number is 15-j057cl. It had a serious hard drive crash, and I'm in the process of reloading it using the USB recovery stick from HP since there's no CD/DVD drive. Running Windows 8.
All the drivers are loaded. I've got internet connectivity via a wireless network, but not via the wired one. All other PCs in my office are working just fine, both wired and wireless. The wired network shows up as an unidentified network, and is a public network. I've hunted all over Microsoft and HP to figure out how to get it connected, identified, and classified as a private network. I've got link lights on both the notebook and the network switch. I've switched the Cat5e cable with a good one I'm using on another PC, and still have the issue.
The Realtek PCIe GBE wired NIC is not getting DNS information, as it keeps coming up with the default Microsoft IP of 169.254.64.151.
I reinstalled win 7 on my hp g7 laptop and now I can't connect to my router. I'm getting message to install network adapter. When I open network and sharing box and click on change adapter settings, the screen is completely blank. How do I fix this problem if I can"t connect to the internet??
How did this show up on my network? It's a private network, and I'm the only one that uses the network that would know how to create a server, and nobody I know would name it "truestoneimage". How do I get rid of it so it doesn't appear in Finder? Why is it showing up at all?
I've downgrade my pc from windows 8 to windows 7 professional 64 bit. I found all the drivers except the one which controls wifi. I need that driver so my pc can recognize the wireless card..
I have a HP ENVY TouchSmart M7-J010DX Laptop with Core i7 Haswell CPU and Intel Centrino Wireless N-2230 card. Product number is E0K83UAR and I'm running Windows 8.1 OS. Lately, I've experienced many occasions when the laptop fails to connect to a wireless network when other PCs in the same room connect. I should say it mostly connects, but with "limited connectivity" and no Internet access. I struggled during a week's vacation to connect and then had a problem connecting when I returned home, where I previously had no problems. And I'm having this problem on networks that previously were not a problem. I've read on this forum that many people are having similar problems. So, I'd like to upgrade the wireless/bluetooth card to something that is known to work more reliably. I assume I would have to stay in the Intel family. I saw one recommendation for an Intel AC 7260 card...
The Wifi on this laptop keeps either dropping connection, or changing to a "limited" network. Sometimes it works fine, but more often than not it drops out. All other wifi enabled devices in my house work fine, so I know it's not the internet. I've also tested on two other networks where the same dropping out occurs.
Windows 8 64 Bit Intel Centrino Wireless-N 2230 (up to date)
This is regarding hp 15-r007tx..I cant connect to the WiFi network . I can only use wired connection. Also the wifi button is permanently off(orange colour). No matter how many times I press its the same and wont detect wifi. Is it hardware or driver problem.
I have an HP Pavilion dv7-6163us laptop and the network does not show up in the Network and Sharing Center. I have tried to reinstall the drivers for the RealTek PCIe GBE Family controller to no avail. I did update the driver for the Intel Centrino Wireless N-1000, so now the wireless light is blue instead of orange. Is the network card toast? I started it up this morning and no network, even plugged in ( cannot recognize that a network even exists on the laptop).
RealTek PCIe controller: VEN 10EC DEV 8168
Also getting a fatal error message from HP Connection Manger:
"A fatal error occurred, check the HP Connection Manager in Event Viewer for more details. A socket operation encountered a dead network".
I have had this problem a couple times, and each time I had to restart my entire computer and reinstall everything before I could connect again. The computer has no problem connecting with a cable, but it says it can't find Wi-Fi. I would really love to avoid restarting and restoring the computer for a fifth time if I could. I don't know the specifics of the computer, I think it might be a 14z Touch...
I have a HP 17-F049NB and reinstalled Windows 7 from scratch.
Everything seems to work well excepted the Wi-Fi: Windows marks the network controller as not known with the little yellow mark and I just can't seem to find any driver.
I just reinstalled a HP pro 3300 SFF with a clean win 7. Download drivers from the hp site but when I try to install I get a message that no Intel components was found. Downloaded the Chipset driver along with the drivers for network but still no luck.....
I am trying to download network drivers for a HP Probook 450 (only blutooth is recognized by Windows) but the website is not working for me.
I have found my notebook and version here:

But clicking on any of the 3 options gets me a "Connection closed by remote server" error.
I tried several browsers, computers, even from 2 diferenct countries (Slovenia and Belgium). Also changed my DNS and still not working.
I am unable to find the exact network manufacturer (I think its Intel 7260ANIntel device for Wireless, but am unable to find anything on Intel website to download proper drivers).
So basicaly I need drivers for Wirless and wired device on Windows 7 Profesional, 64 bit.
Recently I bought a HP 14 TouchSmart notebook pc and I used Window 7 32 bit for the OS the problem that I encountered is why I can`t install the wireless network i try diffrent installer of wife but still not working on this laptop any reason why?
I can see other wireless networks but not my home network. Have turned computer off and on several times, and reinstalled all networks adapters as well.
I have a Windows 8 now 8.1 pavilion g6 laptop which hasn't been able to detect any wireless networks.
When i try to troubleshoot to find a problem it says that there is no problem.
The icon in the bottom right shows a monitor with a white cross in a red circle background and a what looks like a cable with a circular head at the top.
What I am currently using is the ethernet cable into the laptop which is connected to the router which is working normally.
Is there a replaceable network card in the HP2000 Notebook? Almost every time I go to use it, I have to run the troubleshooter to reset the network adaptor. My signal srtength from the router is a full 5 bars, but the connection drops every few minutes, and then resets just fine. I LOOSE WHATEVER I'M WORKING ON.
I'm running Win8.1, and a Qualcomm Atheros QCA9565 802.11b/g/n WiFi Adapter.
I've tried turning off the power saving feature under power management, and adding the network address under advanced settings. Neither change worked. I've also installed the latest driver. Also, this is a wireless connection, so I have disabled the Realtek Lan adapter....
newtwork controller driver is not installed and wireless is not listed in hp 2000-2116tu".I need to do is list the hardware id's for the network controller. I have a yellow ! in front of the network controller and also two unknown devices listed below the network controller.

I installed windows 7 on my new Hp 450 g1, and everything works fine except the wifi. When i open the hp connection manager it says that wifi is disabled by Device Manager.
I tried all the drivers from hp's site and none of them work.
When i open the Device Manager it shows me that it has found under the name "Other Devices" the Network Controller but there is a little triangle on it and does not let me to install any driver that i found on hp website.
The model of my HP Pavillion is 15-b146sa and I'm using Windows 7 ultimate x64 (and I always did). The problem is that when I try to instal any driver, I do it, but a few seconds later it asks me to choose between two options. First one is: Reinstal, using recommended settings Second one is: This program installed correctly.
No matter what I choose, the driver is not installed.

I have a HP Pavilion dv7-6187cl Notebook and my Network Controller has seemed to quit working. I have tried numerous solutions and none of them have worked. I recently did a factory image restore on my PC, but before I did the most recent restore, I did the same thing and tried to update the driver and it worked like a charm. This time, its not so easy.
