I could not install windows 7 because of the above subject. I tried to load drivers for RAID installation it says the specified location does not contain information about your hardware. Although i have downloaded the driver from intel website (the link you have provided).
is it maybe i tried to install the driver from the hard disk?

I've tried to install Windows 7 on my computer for the past day and after several attempts the same error message pops up. It says, "Windows setup could not configure windows to run on this computer’s hardware."
My original hard drive of Acer aspire 5738G crashed and I bought a new 1 TB WD hard drive. I tried to reinstall Windows 7 from recovery disk. All data copy and system restoration (from 3 restoration disks) completed successfully. But after the auto reboot, during “Setup is applying system settings” stage I encountered error message “Windows Setup could not configure Windows to run this computer’s hardware”. I tried reinstalling the OS multiple times but every time I am getting the same error. Before replacing my hard drive, I was using Windows 7 Home Premium OEM version and now I was trying to restore the same in my system.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI Recently purchased an Acer Aspire One D257 - 13473 with mfg. date 2011/07/04 pre-owned at a garage sale. it had a dead hard drive when i purchased it, which was not a huge issue, and i replaced it.
then i was severely disappointed.
I went to try and configure this computer for my own use, but turns out there's (what im assuming to be a BIOS password, since the HDD has been replaced) a password to access the F2 SETUP Menu on this machine. i was really hoping that since I've already upgraded the RAM and replaced the hard drive that i could get this machine actually functionable again.
my sisters new computer out of the rubish bin after she threw it there in disgust and frustration at the W8 operating system... Her daughters disabled and uses specialised mobility software that works well with W7 but not W8... I have purchased a Acer 6930. It had Vista installed and the 5.1 Surround was working perfectly fine. I recently Installed Windows 7 and i'm unable to get the 5.1 speaker configuration setup.
When i configure the speakers, it shows me only Stereo setting. how to enable 5.1 speakers in Windows 7.
I brought my Inspiron 600m back to life and did a fresh install of Windows XP SP2. After that I began installing drivers for it from Dell.com at the following link.

Now there wasn't any drivers that other recommended like chipset/system drivers available when searching by service tag. However if you search by model (600m) a lot more come up. Im not sure if I should download any of them.
My problem is it cannot connect to the internet and the ethernet port is dead. I have no error messages. I tried LAN connections using an ethernet cable to another machine and it does not take.
I am running Intel PROSet/Wireless and it does see nearby networks but cannot connect. It says configuration failed. I have read all the usual documents for troubleshooting but no solution yet. I have heard there where some flaws with this model and some of the equipment.
I clean all partition, using windows instalator to create two partition: 100GB and 890GB. When i try to install windows i see:

From the beginning:
I got my XPS15 (32gb ssd + 1tb hdd) right before christmas and had been happy with it. I even managed to get Intel Rapid Storage running, since it did not work from the beginning for whatever reason.My hdd made funny sounds soon after, so last week happened what needed to happen - the hdd crashed.
No problem, dell in person of a service technician replaced the hdd and installed a clean win 8 (not the original dell package, just a plain one). This did not support Intel Rapid Storage, probably because bios was set to AHCI. I found out later, when the technician had left. Not any driver seemed to work.
So I decided to recover my old win 8 with my self made set of recovery dvds. But this did not work, win 8 just did not want to start after recovery.
I now try to install win 8 from the dvd the service guy brought, but at the beginning it asks me to provide the correct driver. I put the F6-driver for sata from intel onto a usb-stick, but setup does not accept that. I cannot proceed with installation...
I'm not able to install Intel Management Engine Interface (MEI) Driver. During Installation a message pops up saying, "The setup failed to install one or more drivers." I downloaded the latest version of the above software but still didn't work. I'm using Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit.

It would boot fine after I pressed F1 but last week I tried reinstalling Windows and the after the computer restarts, it locks up when it gets to the windows logo and scrolling bar (before the Windows classic screen where you put in the name, date, time, etc.).
Ive tried using 2 different Dell reinstallation discs and a Windows disc but it always happens in the same place.
I checked for a BIOS update but there was never a newer revision for it...A38 or A39.
What could be wrong? I don't have a Dell resource CD to run diagnostics.
I have a HP Envy X2 that is prompting for a password to enter the BIOS setup. I apparently have lost the password. I am able to boot windows, but cannot enter the bios setup. How may I reset the password?

I have both the Lenovo recovery partition on the HDD that came inside the laptop (15.56GB, PBR_DRV) and a copy of it on an external USB HDD (booted from it!). Why can't the recovery software find it?
Where is that "System Image"?

View 4 Replies View RelatedIn November of 2012, my husband bought me an HP 2000-2b09 laptop (Windows 8 came with it). Anyways, a few months after my husband bought the computer, Windows 8 began slowing my computer down causing it to crash. A friend of ours had a copy of Windows 7, so I out that on there. It worked fine for almost a year until about a week or so ago. My computer somehow got Trojan and Malware viruses that I couldn't get rid of it no matter how hard I tried. That slowed my computer down dramatically.
So bad that I can't even play games on it anymore (I'm a huge Sims fan). I recently tried putting Windows 7 on it again. It worked, but the only issue is, it won't allow me to connect to the internet. I need to install the drivers for it, but I need to be connected to the internet to do it. Is there a way for me to get Windows 8 back on it without buying it? I don't have the money to buy that either. My sister purchased a "Windows Recovery Disk" for my father a few months back. I want to borrow it, but I'm not sure it would recover Windows 8.
